Liang Mulan asked in surprise, “Where is Lin Chen?”

Lin Jingquan smiled as he shut the car door. He answered, “He said he had something to attend to and left with his assistant earlier. It must be his company matters. You don’t need to worry.”

Lin Jingquan then looked back at Lin Nuan. “Nuan Nuan, come upstairs with me. I have something to say to you.”

She nodded and followed him upstairs.

Lin Chen didn’t return home with Lin Jingquan. He was sitting in a suite in the Haicheng Oasis.

Outside the suite, Fu Huai’an’s assistant was joking with Lin Chen’s assistant. “Do you want to bet whether two alpha males like them would fight when they’re in the same room?”

Lin Chen’s assistant smiled and whipped out his cigarette box. He then passed the cigarette to Fu Huai’an’s assistant without hiding his stiff laugh. “If they really end up fighting you should hold your boss back. I’ve heard that your boss had training.”

Inside the suite…

Lin Chen sat on the carved wooden seat with his legs crossed, his elbow propped up on the handle and his hand on his knee. He held a cigarette between his fingers as the smoke blurred out the defined, sharp features of his face. He appeared intimidating.

Fu Huai’an sat across Lin Chen with a cigarette in his mouth. He went through the contract documents in his hand.

After browsing through, he grinned and sealed the documents. Moving the cigarette out the corner of his mouth, he flicked it in the ashtray and said, “The eighty percent share of Kaide Corporation is covered thanks to your generosity.”

Tang Zheng arranged for the companies to split their investments for Kaide Corporation in private. Few people on Fu Huai’an’s side knew about the matter.

Nobody expected that Lin Chen would use the eighty percent share to pay back in return. Not to mention the high amount of money in the investment, but to secure them would be a challenge.

Lin Chen did show some skill in salvaging his father in that short amount of time and securing the Lin investments.

Lin Chen smiled slightly and poured some tea for himself. Looking at the hot tea, he said, “I can’t thank you enough for saving us. But regarding LIn Nuan…”

The suite was so quiet one could hear a needle drop on the floor.

Lin Chen put down the tea and looked directly at Fu Huai’an. “I don’t know what Lin Nuan did in exchange for those documents when she approached you. I hope it all ends here.”

Lin Chen pointed at the documents in front of him that were identical to the one Fu Huai’an was looking at. His point was clear.

Regarding how Lin Nuan managed to get those documents, Lin Chen thought of the worst.

Lin Nuan was undeniably a beautiful girl, so beautiful that she couldn’t hide it even if she tried.

Girls like that were an easy target. Fu Huai’an had almost married her earlier—if something happened between them, it was expected.

“Do you like Lin Nuan?” Fu Huai’an brought up the elephant in the room and smiled at Lin Chen.

“You don’t?” Lin Chen asked.

Fu Huai’an kept his calm. He slowly gazed at Lin Chen as he examined him inside out. “So you are asking based on what role? A brother? Or… some other role?”
