At the root of Mount Sumeru, there are seven golden mountains There are seven seas of perfume surrounding Mount Sumeru, and each sea is separated by a mountain; that is to say, Mount Sumeru is the center, followed by the sea, which is the sea of ​​perfume, then another mountain of gold, and then another sea of ​​perfume... Outside the seventh golden mountain is the Aral Sea, and outside the Aral Sea are two iron-clad mountains. In the middle of these two iron-clad mountains is where hell is.

Hell, there are eight cold hells and eight hot hells. There are sixteen levels, as well as lonely hell and nearby hell; that is to say, there are a total of eighteen kinds of hells, which are called eighteen levels of hell in our folk saying.

Hell mainly tortures the physical bodies of living beings in hell, so it tortures The physical bodies of sentient beings in hell mainly use two methods: cold and heat. These two methods are used to make sentient beings feel extreme pain. The bodies of sentient beings in the lower hells are actually broader, and their life spans are And the longer he is; and in hell, he cannot commit suicide; especially in the endless hell, his body is very large and his life span is very long. He suffers endlessly in the hell, so it is also called the endless hell. A As for a person, if he goes to hell after death and is in the endless hell, he cannot bear the pain. After being suffocated, he wakes up again when the wind of karma blows. He cannot commit suicide and has to suffer this kind of endless pain. It is actually very painful. Therefore, a Buddhist practitioner must not go to hell, and he must not go to the endless hell.

Next, let’s talk about the four directions of Mount Sumeru. There are four continents in the four directions of Mount Sumeru: the east is called Shengshenzhou; the south is called Nan Fanbuzhou is where people live now. Their current world belongs to Nanfanbuzhou; there is Niuhuozhou in the west; and Juluzhou in the north, which we usually call Beijuluzhou. The names of these four continents are called Four Heavens. Of course, next to each continent, there are two middle continents and hundreds of small continents. That person lives on four continents, which means we are not the only people like us. The place where we live now is the Star Luo Continent in the Centaur Star Territory belonging to Nanfangbu Continent. Nanfangbu Continent also includes the Chinese world of Earth. That is where my master used to be. We, the people of Nanfangbu Continent, are in In the sutra, they are also called Jambudvipas, that is, people who still have balls on our earth.

However, although human lifespan is now based on one hundred years, human lifespan will increase or decrease. It will change the human lifespan due to the good and evil of the hearts and minds of the people living in this world, so it will change from ten years to ten years. It varies from 84,000 years old to 84,000 years old. Therefore, we can see that in the future, when the Great Sage Maitreya, the Great Enlightenment, is born from Tushita to the human world, the life span of a human being at that time is 80,000 years. Therefore, it means that the life span of a human being is not purely based on one One hundred years old is the basis.

Besides, there is Shengshenzhou to the east. People in Shengshenzhou have a lifespan of about 200 years, and they will die in infancy just like humans. There is also Niu Huozhou to the west. People in Niu Huo Island will live a little longer. He is 300 years old and will die in infancy.

There is also the North Julu Continent. The people in the North Julu Continent are different from the other three continents. I just talked about the Nanfangbu Continent, the Dongshengshen Continent and the Xiniuhuo Continent. People in these three continents will all die, but the people in the North Continent will die. A person from Juluzhou will not die in childhood, his lifespan is only one thousand years, he has a fixed life span; he will never say that he will live to be nine hundred and ninety-nine years old and then die, no! He will surely live to be a thousand years old.

Beijuluzhou is indeed a special place. In the other three continents except Beikulu, men and women get married, and they all get married, but people in Beikulu do not have such a custom of marriage. If a man and woman want to commit adultery, they only need to go to the tree. If the tree hangs down, the man and woman will be reconciled, and they will no longer talk about marriage.

This is the time when they want to do the kind of thing between men and women, and this is how they do it. Let’s talk about where the clothes they wear come from. There are four kinds of kalpa tree in Beikulu Continent. This kalpa tree will appear in four wonderful colors, namely green, yellow, red and white. People living in Beikulu Continent, regardless of gender, As long as he wants what kind of clothes, when he gets the idea, the branch will naturally hang down, and then you can take it and wear it at will.

This is the part they wear. The people of Beikuluzhou eat a kind of rice called fragrant rice, but their rice is fragrant, white, and does not need to be cultivated. It grows naturally from the ground. People in Nanbuzhou have to work hard to cultivate rice to have rice to eat; but people in Beijuluzhou do not need to cultivate if they want to eat fragrant rice. This fragrant rice is not the same as the rice we call Nanfangbuzhou. The rice there is very long. Its length is four fingers. Four fingers is considered very long. It is clean and white and does not need to be cultivated.

Therefore, the people of Beikuluzhou have no worries at all, so the people there will never learn Buddhism, so Bodhisattvas will not want to be born there to study Buddhism among the people in Beikuluzhou. Therefore, Beikululu is a borderland in Buddhism. Therefore, the Buddha taught us not to aspire to be born in Beikulu. Although we will be very happy there, we will not be able to learn the Dharma. Therefore, the Buddha and Bodhisattvas explained, Don't be born in that place."
