Primordial Dimensions
Chapter 114 - Occupation?!
Without being able to hide his smile even the slightest, Shane rushed out of the changing cabin towards the elevator.
Leaving the large building complex, Shane figured out that it was barely afternoon with just enough time left to break into the Apprentice stage, which was a relief for him.
As such, he decided to test his rough strength with a perfect physique by running towards the tranquil forest which was his next goal.
If rumors were to be considered true, the tranquil forest was not really popular amongst many students under normal circumstances, mainly because of the high entrance price of one gold coin.
However, the tranquility and mana density around it allowed everyone to break through without using mana stones while maintaining a calm state of mind, decreasing the possibility of a mistake during the breakthrough, which made the price of a single gold coin worthwhile.
Spending a single gold coin in order to breakthrough in a secluded place inside the tranquil forest, was obviously a smart choice because the rules, made by the person who claimed the tranquil forest as its territory, forbid students to obstruct others who broke through.
If one were to break this rule, being expelled from school would be one of the lighter punishments. Shane even heard that someone had been stupid enough to break this rule, causing the victim to receive a permanent injury that was time-consuming to heal and the treatment was extremely expensive as well.
As such, the perpetrator had the choice to either be crippled by having his mana pool completely shattered or becoming the victim's slave under a Primordial contract until the sustained injury was completely healed.
Both punishments were extremely harsh, yet fair enough in Shane's opinion because the perpetrator could have destroyed the victim's whole future.
If someone were to do this to him, his father would most likely heal him by every means possible and torture the person who did this to him, before killing him as cruelly as possible.
Thinking about this, Shane could only tremble, as he continued to run towards the forest.
Feeling the pure strength within him, he estimated that his current strength was roughly at the 2nd Apprentice stage, which was roughly 50%-60% stronger than a normal 10th Mortal physique.
This was extremely shocking though Shane estimated that a perfect Apprentice physique on top of his perfect mortal physique would most likely result in a flawed 2nd or even 3rd Expert stage physique if he were to continue this game.
After that, he couldn't even imagine how strong his physique would become if he were to have a complete perfect physique, because of the amplification everyone attained once they liquefied their purified mana in order to break into the Master stage.
After entering the tranquil forest with the payment of one gold coin, Shane focused on his new task, letting go of all his previous thoughts.
Breaking into the Apprentice stage!
Fifteen minutes later, he reached the center of the forest and looked around in order to see if he would disturb someone unknowingly if he were to be too loud. But there was nobody nearby, though he could make out a few outlines further away.
As long as nobody disturbed him, he could ignore them and focus on the task at hand. Sitting on the ground at a spot with thick overlapping mana streams, he smiled, as he thought about breaking through, and simultaneously a notification popped up.
[Host has reached the requirement: Mana purity of [10%] and has gathered enough mana in order to break into the [1st Apprentice] stage.]
[Breakthrough is estimated to take 10 hours. Initiate breakthrough?]
Without hesitating a single second, Shane immediately initiated the breakthrough, as a large suction force emanated from his body, absorbing the mana surrounding him greedily, enveloping him in a white cocoon.
As Shane closed his eyes, he was already fully aware of what he had to do because he had to hold his mana pool together, which would increase by 25% in size approximately.
It was as if his mana pool was the vessel that would break and recuperate while increasing in size and Shane had to hold everything mentally together while enduring the pain coming from breaking and at the same time recuperating his mana pool.
However, fortunately enough, the mana he absorbed wasn't hostile towards him; rather it was the complete opposite. It was as if the mana circulated carefully throughout his body before he annexed it in order to become a part of him by merging with his mana pool, which caused it to recuperate.
Even if he had to grit his teeth in pain, he couldn't help but feel overjoyed with his amity with the mana particles, as ten hours passed slowly, yet steadily without anything obstructing him.
With the white cocoon around him dissipating, he opened his eyes, only to see a notification appear in front of him.
[Congratulations for breaking into the [1st Apprentice] stage, host! Individual occupation catalog has been unlocked.]
Seeing the message, he stood up slowly, only to smell a reeking stench coming off his body, as he saw the black thick liquid all over his arms and under his clothes, almost causing him to vomit.
Taking off the clothes, he immediately jumped into the lake, disregarding the presence of any onlookers, before he washed up and left the lake once again, putting on a clean set of clothes.
Estimating that mana students would breakthrough inside the tranquil forest, Shane started to wonder about the number of people who would wash up inside the lake, as he smelled a nice fragrance coming from the lake.
His eyes widened slightly, and the only thing he could think of were mutated purity slimes. His best guess was that the academy most likely purchased their liquid in order to create a high ratio with mana and the purity slime was added later in order to help the lake cleanse itself periodically.
Other than his theory, Shane couldn't think of any other way that the lake could be so clean and uncontaminated despite hundreds of students breaking through in a week, as per a rough estimate.
Instead of spending his time focusing on the lake, Shane reminded himself of his achievement of breaking into the Apprentice stage, which allowed him to choose an occupation.
Accessing his status panel, there appeared a '+' behind his non-existent occupation.
<Occupation: [None]+> and with a single thought, a catalog with several dozen occupations appeared.
Most of them were at the [Bronze] quality, and reading through the possible occupations there, Shane couldn't help but smile, because there were all basic occupations, like [Warrior], [Guardian], [Assassin], [Archer], [Blacksmith],[Alchemist] and several dozens more.
However, the bronze quality occupations were completely disregarded by Shane, because they could most likely be unlocked by him after attaining a certain degree of knowledge and fulfilling the requirements to learn these occupations.
Other than that, there were also over a dozen [Silver] quality occupations, like a [Fiery Warrior], [Lesser light Guardian], [Shadow Assassin], [Wind Archer], and [Tamer].
These would give him an affinity, except the Tamer occupation, however, the affinities wouldn't be strong enough to cope up with [Gold] quality occupations, of which he had three in his catalog.
There was a [Orcan Archer], [Ferocious Berserker] and [Wise Tamer], which he received most likely from his Blessing because it improved his hunting ability by a large margin, his title, which was perfectly suited for a Berserker, and his innate skill [Taming] which spoke volumes about his prowess..
In the end, most youths would most likely pick either of these occupations, at random, only because they didn't believe that they were able to obtain a better occupation if they were to wait any longer.
However, there was something rather peculiar about his occupation catalog!
He already had the possibility to choose a single [Platinum] occupation!
