As she heard Lucius's words the light in Serena's eyes instantly changed but Lucius didn't stop speaking,

"I grew up as a helpless commoner and an orphan at that but that didn't change anything for me. I've always admired the heroes and soldiers who would risk their lives to protect the things they care about. That's why for as long as I can remember that I've been in this, my only purpose has been to save and protect people(Myself)!"

As Lucius's powerful speech ended the room was left silent

They just looked at the young man with shaky feet and yet still somehow he managed to speak with a resolute voice that didn't falter in the slightest, the people watching couldn't help her feel a little moved.

It seemed like this young man's resolve to save people( himself) was truly supreme and above everything else!

But the more they thought about it the more approving the meme era of the board became, after all, Isn't this what sanctuary was about?

Helping and teaching anyone regardless of circumstance to become stronger but it for themselves but for humanity as a whole!

To breed the next generations of heroes!

If someday they found out it was aurally the e leader of the largest terrorist organisation on the continent saying these words they would definitely stone him to death!

Fortunately, for Lucius, such a dark truth will never be exposed allowing all the teachers to look at him with an awe-filled gaze

Serena herself was particularly moved.

Looking at the boy whose will seemed to be as solid as a mountain Serena seemed to see a little bit of herself in him.

The young girl that didn't want to stain her hands with blood. The girl who didn't want to live a life of murder and hatred but instead use her gifts and talents to help other people.

It was a desire that had been snuffed out for so long she had almost forgotten she ever had it.

'Is this… is this the desire to become a hero?'

Looking at Lucius she seemed to realise something

.Didn't she endure it all, the curse, the nightmares, the brutal training, all hope to live the life that the young boy in front of her dreamed of right now?

'Maybe…. Maybe if I didn't live such a life, if I wasn't so unfortunate as to encounter the Bloody Hand, Would I be like that? Would I also dream to be a hero too?'

Faced with such pure desire, Serena's usually staunch barrier actually shook.

She slowly turned towards Mr. Hoffman secretly looking for some sign or signal on what to do, but all she saw was him helplessly shrug his shoulders as if saying, 'The choice is all yours'

Now With the decision completely up to her, Serena had to look into herself for just a short while to be able to come to her own decision.

No matter how hard she tried to ring up the persona of a cold, aloof teacher who didn't want to interact with students, deep down, she was just a big softie.

If it wasn't for her antisocial personality and PTSD from the bloody hand, she would have accepted a student.

But besides all that, there was a deeper resin to her accepting Lucius as her student

'I want to see it. The future of a hero's dream that is...'

That dream she had, the desire she always wanted to see. Maybe she could live it through her students?

A person with such strong convictions would never let her down…

With those thoughts in mind, the cold aura around, Serena quickly retreated but a stern expression still remained on her beautiful face.

"Lucius, correct?"

"Yes." Responded Lucius quickly.

"After seeing your resolve, it's impossible for me to continue to turn a blind eye to your obvious desire to learn. In other words, I accept you as my student"

Hearing this, Lucius nearly jumped up with joy! But the benefits didn't just end there.

Soon a familiar notification went off in his mind

"Ding!

[Congratulations for greatly increasing the favorability with the Heroine [Serena ] as well as becoming her first student]

[Reward - X1 Random Talent Copy Card ]

With this barrage of notifications, Lucius's glee went up tenfold!

"Thank you very much, teacher!"

As Lucius spoke he broke out into a rare smile that left the entire room in a daze.

It could be seen by anybody that this was a smile that truly came from the heart.

And in truth, Lucius truly wasn't just acting this time.

The protagonist had learned some true killer moves from Serena in the timeline of the novel.

And although the protagonist had many teachers, Serena was always the most influential one. If Lucius didn't end up as Serena's student he would be in deep trouble!

With such high stakes on the line, it was obvious that he would be grateful that all his planning actually succeeded!

Not to mention the unexpected addition of a talent copy card. Even if it was complexity random, Lucius didn't care. Anyone of Serena's talents were to die for and he would gladly add any of them into his arsenal.

Seeing Lucius so happy Serena even ended up smiling a little before she remembered that she could afford to just smile.

Whilst Lucius was still happy Serena's stern voice sounded out again.

"But now that you've become my student, know things are going to be far from easy. You can't just piggyback off your golden-grade talent and get everything easy."

Serena was about to stop there when she suddenly remembered something.

"Oh? And the ridiculous claim that you want to learn my techniques to create a new swordsmanship?"

As soon as Lucius heard this he froze slightly.

Although Lucius was not using his berserk aura and Serena was perfectly calm now.

Lucius still remembered the horrific killing intent that had exploded from her earlier and the brief feeling of dread that had accompanied it!
