God of Crime: Strongest Mafia Boss

328 [Bonus chapter] CH 313: MISSED YOU

A few minutes later, Adam looked at the kneeling woman in front of him.

"So, if I understood correctly, Natasha's sister, who you humorously refer to as the eldest lady, mistook me for Natasha's boyfriend and wanted to talk to me, right? But in reality, she's not the eldest daughter; she's simply the younger one."

The woman smiled helplessly but still nodded. Then she opened her mouth, hesitating to say something... but stopped herself.

"Do you have something to say?"

"I... Could you let us go?"

"Hmm..."

Adam smiled. "I don't understand what you mean. I'm not stopping you now. You can leave anytime you want."

She looked at him speechlessly and gestured beneath him.

After all, Adam was currently sitting on one of her comrades.

The poor man wore a look of humiliation and despair as he could do nothing but let the young man use him as a chair.

"Oh. Hmm? Well, unlike you guys, this dude really came at me aggressively. I need to make him understand that violence is bad, you know?"

"Well..."

There was nothing she could say.

They had approached him threateningly, but what followed couldn't even be called a fight.

'He was supposed to have awakened just one month ago.'

While it was true that receiving a contract from a god would lead to rapid growth, this was still a bit too much.

"Get down."

Just two words from him were enough to make them feel like the weight of the world was on their shoulders.

It was followed by a simple beatdown as they moved sluggishly, like snails.

The saving grace was that she could see that he had shown leniency in his treatment of them.

Similarly, none of them struggled as they would have in a fight to the death.

There was no need to. The demand of the young lady had been excessive from the start. They weren't in medieval times.

Forcing someone to come against their will was truly a crime, and while they were indeed criminals themselves, it was a different matter when the one being attacked was the possible boyfriend of the Second Lady.

'Sigh...'

"It seems like you guys are having a hard time, huh? Well, that doesn't excuse the way you treated me. Being ambushed by a group of werewolves is terrifying, you know."

"..."

"I can sense the disbelief in your gaze. Do you think I'm lying?"

"Um... We sincerely apologize for our rudeness."

It was a strange sight to see the ones who had been beaten up now apologizing, but there was nothing they could do.

This was the unfortunate way of the world, where strength reigned supreme.

"Hmm... Okay, but I still can't feel your sincerity."

"Sincerity?"

She seemed genuinely bewildered, to which Adam smiled.

"You. Go tell your lady that I have her squad in my hand. Two million for each head. I believe I'm being more than generous."

"Are you robbing us?"

"Sadly, I'm in great need of money. Gotta start somewhere, right?"

This day was becoming more absurd by the minute.

Who would have thought that the Great Wolves, one of the most powerful gangs of the Russian mafia, would one day be extorted like nerds having their lunch money stolen by the school bully?

"Could you reconsider?"

"Three million."

"I... I understand. I will talk to the lady."

She was sure that what she saw on his face as she said this was a look of disappointment. Clearly, he wished she would continue to complain and increase the ransom.

'How greedy.'

She let out a sad laugh.

The boss would certainly like him. He loved shameless people like this.

Obviously, the person she called was not Fedora. Even though she was already 15 years old and being taught how to be a leader, she still had a lot to learn when it came to level-headedness in such situations.

She immediately sent a message to Lady Natalia. They would be scolded since they had entered her territory and caused trouble, but it was better than further antagonizing him.

As she did so, she nervously glanced at Adam. She didn't try to hide her actions, and she was sure he could see the person she was sending a message to.

The fact that he said nothing meant that he truly wanted to resolve things in a friendly manner.

Natasha had been discussing it with the university principal.

Her family had made numerous significant donations to the school throughout the year, so her record was still clean. She had kept her friends' records clean as well, but it seemed like each of them had their own ways.

"I plan to take a leave of absence from the university for an undetermined period of time. I hope you understand."

"Obviously. It's necessary for young adults to take a sabbatical year and explore more of the world. In fact, I can even transfer you to another university in Europe."

"Thank you, but that won't be necessary."

"I see. But..."

She could already anticipate what he wanted to say without even listening.

"My father always admired places of knowledge like this one, and he likes helping you spread even more knowledge."

"What a splendid and admirable man. We will strive to maintain the highest standards in the state when it comes to this."

"I'm glad to hear that."

The two of them stood up and exchanged a firm handshake before parting ways.

"Before I leave, I hope Alberto is alright."

"Don't worry. Despite his humble background, we have made a point not to discriminate against him. The princess also holds him in high regard."

The last part was spoken with distaste, but Natasha didn't care. It wasn't like she could change the way a vampire thought.

Finally, she left the office and only then looked at her phone, which had been ringing non-stop.

"What is happening—"

She stopped as she read the three messages she had received.

"*Sigh*"

In the end, all she could do was sigh.

"Fedora, what the hell have you done again?"

Clearly, this wasn't the first time she had caused trouble.

She massaged her temples.

This couldn't continue like this. Sooner or later, she was going to provoke someone she shouldn't and they wouldn't be able to clean up after her mess.

She thought grimly as she walked in the direction she had received.

Her heart pounded strongly. She didn't know if it was because of the frustration Fedora was causing her or if it was because she was happy to finally see him after nearly three weeks of absence.

'I wonder how much he has changed.'

This would surely be an interesting sight to witness.

There were many things she wanted to tell him and even more things she wanted to discuss with him.

But above all, she wanted to tell him one thing.

.

.

.

"I really missed you."

"I missed you too."

Adam took a sharp breath when Natasha hugged him tightly, like a bear hugging its cubs. He had forgotten that in term of physical strength, she naturally outmatched him.

As for the poor man serving as a chair?

All he could do was suffer in silence.

(AN: Guys, I'm finally about to have my banner. Let's hope all the sacrifices of the last two months will yield some results. I'm not asking for much, but it would be great if I could move from the top 50 to the top 30 this month. Well, we'll see. Once again, thanks for your support last month. If the banner proves to be useful, I might try getting one again next month. Anyways don't hesitate in sending a little gift.)
