In MIng industries, Lu Lian was kept away from all the new works and the meetings for the entire day. She only had to focus on the project she was handling but it was almost over. In the next few days or a maximum of fifteen days, she had to leave the office once and for all.

In the evening, when working hours were over, Lu Lian passed a message through her assistant that she wished to meet Ming Rusheng. Her request was approved and she went to meet Ming Rusheng. She wanted to talk about personal stuff so talking during working hours except for work was like wasting working time.

Lu Lian went to Ming Rusheng's office and knocked on the door.

"Come in!" came the cold voice which made her anxious. Though she was determined and had already decided what to talk about, she felt her determination shaking at just hearing his voice. It's going to be painful but she had to bear with it.

Lu Lian opened the door and entered the office. Ming Rusheng was busy working as this handsome man looked busier than ever. "Yes?" he asked, not even looking at her.

"Mr. Ming, I wish to talk with you," she said.

He nodded while working and said, "Go ahead."

Lu Lian didn't mind his ignorant behavior as she was just there to say her part.

"It's about what happened between us this month," she said.

"Hmm," he just hummed as if it was not important to her and neither did he look at her.

"I have decided to let it go and let the mistakes in the past be buried in the past. There is no use holding onto it and being angry at it. I was angry so I didn't know how to react and deal with it but now I understand and I wish you to let it go too."

"Hmm," got the same reply from him.

"Let's just be good to each other as if nothing happened and we all can be at peace," she said and now rest was difficult for her to say. She expected him to look at her even once but he didn't and she continued, "Though I am ready to let it go and have forgiven you, we still can not be together."

Ming Rusheng didn't look at her but his hand that held the pen froze for a moment.

"Hmm," he said and his frozen hand continued to work with a pen.

"Don't you have anything to say?" Lu Lian asked.

"I understand what Ms. Lu meant to say. If there is nothing, Ms. Lu can leave," he said and still didn't look at her.

Not this hurt for real. Not like she expected something more but still… 'Well, it's better than those emotional goodbyes,' she consoled herself and said, "I will be leaving then."

Just as she turned to leave, she heard him again, "Ms. Lu, As you have resigned, I have accepted it. You can stop coming to the office. All the necessary procedures would be taken care of from our side soon."

"I wish to but I don't leave my project till they are finished," she turned and replied, looking at the busy man.

"As to maintain Ms. Lu's working ethics, your assistant will let you know when your presence is needed at the site, meeting, or any event. I will make sure you will be a part of it as you deserve. After that Ming Industries will stop bothering you," he said.

She stared at him to see if he looked at her but he didn't. "Very well," she said and left his office.

Even though she left, Ming Rusheng didn't stop working as if nothing mattered to him but his work.

Lu Lian returned to her office and left after getting her bag as she thought of it as her last day in the office. She was clearly hurt but maintained her dignity by not showing it on her face. 'No one is more important than my brother and my family,' she thought and left Ming Industries.

Lu Lian straightaway went to the hospital to see a baby as she thought it will divert her mind and she will be busy with Lu Bao.

When she reached the hospital, Ming Lan was already there talking to Lu Bao.

"Lanlan?" Lu Lian said as she wanted to ask where she was gone.

"Done with your work?" Ming Lan asked.

Lu Lian nodded, "You didn't come to the office today."

Ming Lan smiled lightly as it looked like nothing was wrong with her. "I was busy with my mother. She keeps complaining that I don't give her time at all."

Lu Lian understood while Lu Bao said, "If my daughter is like both of you when she grows up, I am going to pull her ears."

"Why? What did we do?"

"I am the one to raise her and give her all of my time and love and she can't just go away like this when I keep waiting," Lu Bao answered.

It was straightaway mocking the other two.

"I remember, in the past, someone was desperate to run away from her mother," Lu Lian said and looked at Ming Lan, "Do you remember?"

"I remember something like this too. Was it our Baobao?"

"You two, stop talking about it now," Lu Bao frowned.

After talking for a while with Lu Bao the two came out of the room.

"How was everything in the office?" Ming Lan asked.

"As usual," Lu Lian replied.

"My brother? Did you two talk?"

"Hmm."

"Seems like nothing went well."

"It did. Both of us are now free to go our own ways."

"What do you mean?"

"I won't be coming to Ming industries from now on."

"What…"

"My projects are about to be over and there is no need to go unless it's something important."

Ming Lan sighed, "So finally you two came to a decision and that too like this."

"What's wrong with you. I see you don't look good."

"Nothing. You two stressed me a lot."

"Are you not hiding anything?"

"I don't have a complicated love life like you to hide anything."

"I wish you to get one soon but I pray nothing complicated would be there."

Ming Lan just nodded lightly and the two left the hospital.
