"Mother…."

"I am done talking. I am going to sleep. You two can go to your rooms," Mo Ruolan stood up and went to her room, leaving her two kids flabbergasted by her strict mother role.

"I hope you will listen to us," said Jiang Peizhi to his daughter as he followed his wife.

The two younger ones didn't know what to do with their parents.

"Are they just forcing me?" Jiang Yuyan spoke.

"May God gives you strength," Jiang Yang commented as he looked at his shocked sister.

Jiang Yuyan closed her eyes and leaned back on the sofa, and sighed. "Though I can trouble the entire world and move it on my fingertips, I am helpless in front of my own family and people."

"That's the curse of having a family, which loves you more than anything," Jiang Yang replied as he too leaned back lazily on the sofa and closed his eyes.

As the two sat lazily, Jiang Yang said again. "I didn't seem to see my binoculars back at its place."

Cough! Jiang Yuyan opened her eyes. "Looks like I forgot to keep it back."

"You better return it in the same condition," Jiang Yang warned.

"What do you take me for? Am I a kid to break it?" she countered.

"Can't deny it," said Jiang Yang and asked. "That kid will be down soon. Aren't you going to stop him?"

She looked at her brother surprisingly. "Can you stop looking into other people's matters?"

"Can't help it when others can't stop letting me notice it," said Jiang Yang.

"Let him be," she said.

Jiang Yang looked at his sister. "Will you tell me what's going on now?"

Jiang Yuyan didn't know how to answer it. "I will when I feel I can't handle it anymore."

"As you wish."

The next day during breakfast, Lu Jinhai talked to Lu Lijun.

"Only fifteen days left for the project."

"Yes, father," Lu Lijun replied.

"Fifteen days?" Ning Jiahui mumbled, and Lu Jinhai looked at her. "Yes."

Ning Jiahui's tone turned sadder as she said, "After fifteen days, It's Lu Qiang's…."

Everyone thought about it and realized it was the day when that unfortunate accident happened. The silence took over the breakfast table.

"Yuyan! Don't trouble her for anything these days. Let her take off from work," Elder Lu instructed.

"Yes, father," Lu Jinhai agreed.

Lu Lijun, who was silent till now, didn't know what to think about it. He was sad about his brother's demise, and he knew how Jiang Yuyan must feel. He felt worried for her and for that arriving day.

"We will need to go to the temple to perform a memorial service like every year," Grandma said.

When Lu Lijun went to Lu Corporation, Jiang Yuyan was in her office already. He had controlled himself from not going to her for fifteen days, but today he wanted to go to her. He himself didn't know what he felt but felt like he would lose her.

Xiao Min was busy instructing the receptionist. He saw Lu Lijun and bowed to him. Lu Lijun straightaway went to Jiang Yuyan's office after instructing Xiao Min without even looking at him. "No one should come in."

Xiao Min nodded, looking at Lu Lijun, who already entered the office, and the door was closed. Xiao Min felt worried if this stubborn young master would again trouble his boss.

Jiang Yuyan was at the window looking outside when she heard the sound of the door open and close. She saw Lu Lijun, who strode towards her without any stop and hesitation.

"Do I need to teach the manners of knocking on the door...umm…"

He kissed her before she could realize his fast action. He always maintained work ethics in the office, so she didn't expect it from him.

Pressing her against the window glass behind her, he held her tight at her shoulders and kissed without letting her chance even to push him away. She clutched his jacket at the arm in protest, which was her failed attempt to dig her nails into his skin.

Parting away in a while, he whispered against her lips, still holding her against the glass wall. "I missed you."

Catching her breath, her hazy brain tried to process what had just happened while still clutching his arms.

Resting his forehead on her lowered head, he spoke while panting heavily in his hoarse voice. "I felt like I would die soon...I want to…."

Jiang Yuyan covered his mouth immediately as she looked at him with her moist eyes and tried to breathe properly. "Don't...don't say anything that will make me hate you."

He removed her hand and stared into her eyes closely, as the two could still feel each other's breath brushing against their skin.

"You hate me anyways," said Lu Lijun.

It shocked her to think why he would think that. "I... don't hate you."

"Then do you love me?" he asked, his voice shallow but intense.

Jiang Yuyan, who was already shocked, couldn't answer it.

"I couldn't be across the table today….I just can't…." he spoke, his breath turning heavy as his eyes stared at her intently.

"We..are in office, Lu Lijun," she reminded him, not knowing what more to say, neither she wished to scold him, seeing how serious he looked. She could guess something must have troubled him.

"I know," he said in a hoarse voice as he continued to caress her face closely. "Next few days, you won't even think about me as if I don't even exist, so let me have this moment at least."

His words puzzled her. "What do you mean?"

"Nothing. Just remember I'll wait for you to return home," he spoke and kissed her again shortly and let her go.

Leaving her breathless again, Lu Lijun left Jiang Yuyan's office while she continued to look at his retreating back.

Instead of feeling angry over how he could kiss her again and that too in the office, she thought about what had happened suddenly to make him say she won't think about him as if he doesn't exist.

'Did something happen to him?' she thought.
