"Well—I'll say 'thank you' then I guess," said Lu Bai as he passed her the lightest bag in his grip.

They headed to the carpark and placed their groceries in the back of the car.

Lu Bai looked at her eyes inside the rear mirror, "Sorry for troubling you again, madam from downstairs. If you have any problems, you can always come to me." He sat at the backseat with his legs closed.

Madam? Do I look that old?

"Well—my name is Lu Zhaoyang, you can call me that from now onwards, by the way," said Zhaoyang wryly.

"Are we talking about the same 'Lu'?" The surname caught Lu Bai's interest.

"Is your 'Lu' the one that means 'the land'?"

"Yup," confirmed Lu Zhaoyang promptly as her eyes all focused on the road. She could hear the very soft gasps from the excited young man however.

"That's my surname too! I'm Lu Bai. Bai as in snow-white." The little home-hogger had hardly encountered any human being. It was the first time he met someone with the exact surname as his. Akin to Columbus's discovery, if you ask me.

"Mmmmmmhmmmmmm," responded Lu approvingly, "That's—a good name. At least it fits you."

Yup, name your child after their skin color. Very liberalistic parents.

"How do I word your name, Zhaoyang?"

"The morning sun," answered Lu promptly.

"OH! That explains! No wonder you have such gorgeous smile! I still can't believe we both have the same exact surname. Maybe we were families ages ago!" Lu Bai was sure excited as he leaned forward towards her, "So, is there anybody else in your family?"

Very good question! How should I summarize this? Can anyone in the comment section tell me?

"My father passed away when I was very young and my mother joined another family."

"Oh…" Lu Bai was a little stunned, "Well, both my parents passed away and I am all alone. It sounds like you're alone too and we both share the same surname. I'm 23 this year. It shouldn't be a problem if I address you as my elder sister, right? Sis?" Gleefully he said, with lovely dimples on his cheeks.

He is the typical handsome, young and sweet fellow one would see on Korean dramas these days. You know, the one who would hold your hands gently, make you lunchboxes and carry you when you broke your feet on your heels?

Imagine if Su Cheng sees it. Maybe he'll be on KBS World or my Netflix's news feed next month.

Especially when he's so 'sociable'. What a way in getting yourself an elder sister.

"What's with the silence, sis?" Lu Bai thought Zhaoyang did not like the new salutation at all, "Well—I'll promise not to call you that anytime, anywhere, if that's the case."

"It's totally fine. I'm older than you anyway. Call me 'sis' then."

"Okie dokie." And Lu Bai finally went back to his seat.

They arrived by the apartment and went upstairs. Lu Bai was behind Zhaoyang, with a smile of a boy next to an ice cream truck.

"So, you stay alone?"

"… Sometimes." A safe answer from Zhaoyang, considering how the devil would show up from the underground at almost any second.

"Oh—my house is sort of occupied…" He wanted to say that he had guests at his place but he realized he should not tell that, "… by myself. Yeah, I'm staying alone too."

"I can see that."

Like if he does have guests over his place from time to time, he would have at least known it's 4 degree Celsius today.

Zhaoyang could not help but snicker at his apparel.

"Sis—I have a request. Can I visit you whenever I'm free?" Asked the boy before she entered her accomodation.

"Well, weekends, yes. Weekdays, no. I'll be working." She somehow liked the boy. At first she thought he might be a suspicious criminal on a runaway or something. However, the more she looked at him, the more he appeared to be a simple, even clumsy, adorable boy in his young adulthood.

"Alright then, see ya. I'll be heading upstairs." Zhaoyang waved him goodbye before vanishing in her apartment as the young boy continued hitting the stairs above with the large bags.

His smile remained bright as ever as he pushed the door open, only to be swarmed by a scream from the inside, "HELLO BAI! Took you forever to get home, did you get hit by a bullet too? I just picked out mine. I'm weak. I need food. NOW!"

Wen He was on the bed with bandages over her arm. She might have appeared weak as a lamb, but her voice still packed a volume.

"Be quiet or starve to death," said Lu Bai as he stormed into the kitchen.

"Ugh…" Wen He got up from the bed and dragged her body to the kitchen, "What's with all these groceries? I only asked for ONE meal. I swear any bride in your home will be angered to death. Geez, do you know how saving works?"
