VRMMORPG: Dragomancer Reborn

Some distance from Arthur stood an astonishing beast.

A Ten-pronged horned deer that had several animal corpses in its horns and blood splattered on its body was 'grazing' on another corpse.

A maddened look was in its eyes, while an eerie aura could be felt from it.

"Just as I thought, there is more than one!" Arthur exclaimed.

When he had fought the previous Ten-Pronged horned Deer, he had noticed that there were more hoof tracks on the ground than normal. Plus, one set of tracks were headed in another direction, making Arthur think that there were more of them.

Before this, he didn't wish to fight another beast, but now that the Razer Tusk Boar was chasing him, he needed as many obstacles as possible. He had hoped that his guess was right and it did turn out to be.

Best of all, the Ten pronged Horned deer he encountered was inflicted with Madness too. Arthur had no idea why these beasts seemed to be inflicted with it, but he didn't care for now.

All he cared about was that he could now make use of their madness. He summoned his inventory page and glanced at a particular item within it.

"Seems like I get to use the claws before forging them." Arthur muttered and took out one of the claws of the Giant Dire Sewer Rat that he had obtained.

He had six of them, so he would have enough chances for now.

"COME OVER HERE, YOU STUPID BUCK!" Arthur shouted while throwing the Giant Dire Sewer Rat Claw.

WHOOSH!

The claw soared through the air like an arrow and struck the body of the Ten Pronged Horned Deer, leaving a cut on the side of its neck.

GUIIIIIIII!

The Deer let out a mad cry before charging towards Arthur.

Normally, this would be a reckless move, but right now, Arthur needed it to charge straight at him.

"Come on… faster…" Arthur kept his eyes trained towards the incoming deer while using his ears to track the Razer Tusk Boar.

He roughly estimated that the Boar was now five meters behind him, but the Deer was forty meters away. The speed of the boar was also faster than that of the deer, thus Arthur had to keep on sprinting at his full capacity.

Two seconds was all it was needed for the distance between Arthur and the Deer to be reduced to a mere five meters.

"NOW!" And when the distance fell to less than two meters, Arthur dived out of the way, almost twisting his ankle in the process.

"Ugh!" A sharp pain traveled up Arthur's right leg, showing that he was almost hitting his limits.

The only saving grace was that no injury notification popped up, showing that while Arthur had indeed strained himself, it wasn't to the point of going beyond his current player body's limits.

THUD! RUSTLE!

Arthur crashed into the ground but turned that into a roll only coming to a stop when he met a shrub.

THUD!

CRACK!

GUIIIHHHHHHH!

Behind him, another loud crash happened, as two beasts met.

A string of notifications popped up in Arthur's vision, as he tried to recover from his fall. He quickly turned to look at the field and saw the scene.

GUIIIIHHH!

The Ten pronged Horned Deer had its left horn broken while a deep gash could be seen on the side of its head. The gash was deep enough that its jawbone could be seen. It was clear that the Tusk of the Razer Tusk Boar stayed true to its name.

But it wasn't the only one injured as the Razer Tusk Boar had also sustained an injury. More accurately, the broken horn of the deer had stabbed into the boar's body!

This was the reason why it had broken off and also why the Deer had sustained more injuries.

"Come on now… Don't break eye contact." Arthur muttered as he slowly stepped back trying to avoid pulling any attention to himself.

ONGH!

GUIIHHHH!

The Razer Tusk Boar was already enraged by Arthur and couldn't see reason, while the Ten Pronged Horned Deer had been inflicted with the madness debuff. It could basically be said that both beasts were in a similar state.

Normally, the Ten Pronged Horned Deer should have run away the moment it smelled the scent of the Razer Tusk Boar. But with the debuff combined with the direct damage inflicted on it, it would not leave without a fight!

BANG!

STOMP!

THUD!

Neither of the beasts backed off from a fight and rammed their heads against each other. The deer used its only remaining horn, while the Razer Tusk Boar pushed ahead with its large tusks.

Still, the horns of the Ten Pronged Horned Deer were longer than the tusks of the Razer Tusk Boar, giving it a bit of a range. If not for that, it would have already been stabbed to death by the tusks.

Despite this though, dirt was kicked up as the Ten Pronged Horned Deer found itself being pushed back. After all, the Razer Tusk Boar was several levels higher than it and so was its size.

It was inevitable for it to be pushed back by the raw strength of the Razer Tusk Boar.

CREAK!

Its remaining horn creaked and fine cracks started to form on it, as the Razer Tusk Boar used its might.

'Thankfully, the Ten Pronged Horned Deer broke the Razer Tusk Boar's charge and has it head locked, or it wouldn't be able to live that long.' Arthur thought to himself while chugging more water.

His main goal in getting the two beasts to clash was so he could recover his stamina. He couldn't move now, or he would risk stalling his stamina recovery again.
