UNLIMITED SPEED

614 614. SUMMONING

Major events never ceased in the world of Cregar. The war remained the highlight of the human continent. While the elves could only recoil as their name was tarnished—even if they never helped.

The other continents remained in the background, speculating, waiting for something even more grand to occur to entertain them. The whole war remained okay with them as long as they were not in the crossfire.

Yet, in various locations several unique events took place, events that would unfold into even grander occurrences or greater implications.

One of these smaller events being the decision Noah made days before his death. Or what was considered his death.

Sitting in his cultivation room, Noah browsed his various skills in search of something suitable for his situation.

In truth he wasn't looking for a solution since the very second Cregar had mentioned the plan of the royals, he knew what would solve his problem. His current activity saw him checking others that would assist his main choice.

Of course, this skill was none other than the skill that allowed for the creation of a clone.

[Imperfect Image of the Speedling heir[Active]: Call upon a clone made from the depths of the Speed Force and your core as a Speedling. It is physically identical to you and has access to 75% of your full power and speed, apart from your 'Bloodline' abilities, 'Title, and 'Speed force-based skills. You can only summon two of these clones]

[Cost: 90% SE pool, 80% Soul energy pool, and 45% Soul core fragment per clone. Duration: N/A. Cool-down: N/A]

[Summoned Clones: 0/2]

[Warning: If the clone is destroyed, the user will fall into a coma as a result of the damage of 40% of their soul core. If both clones die at the same time user will likely die]

He read the skills description and despite its warning, he already knew it would be his go-to.

It had changed from 'Speed clones' to 'Imperfect image of the Speedling heir' at some point after utilizing his bloodline form.

It remained the only thing that could make him experience death without actually dying.

"The skill says it has no cool-down, but it'll still take a while for me to replenish my soul energy," Noah shook his head. It sounded like a scam.

"Before you pull out a whole manual book on the reason for this, I understand," Noah shut the system before it could even start.

[[Impressive of you to anticipate my reply quickly enough. As a matter of fact, I have five reasons. But you don't wanna hear them]] The system replied even if she sounded disappointed.

For some reason, the system had gained more humanity in her voice and interactions now that he stopped being emotionless.

Maybe it had always been like that but he simply never noticed.

Erolia could only giggle in the background whilst listening to that conversation.

Now that he could feel gladness, Noah found it pleasant to know she could always participate in their dialogues thanks to his connection with her.

In some ways, It had stopped being 'his' system, but 'their' system. The days of feeling utterly lonely were over.

"Yeah. Yeah," he waved dismissively.

"Still, it's been a while since I used this skill, is there anything you think I might need to know?"

The system remained quiet for a few seconds too long and Noah got ready to speak again, but the iconic silver screen appeared before his gaze along with her voice.

[[Well, for starters, the reason you need all that for the clone is because after its creation; its functionality is dependent on the amount of information present. The soul energy and soul fragment are both carriers of your very core nature]]

[[Controlling the clone will be akin to a third arm; relatively easy. But it will have obvious limits. It'll only be able to carry a portion of your consciousness and will require your main body to function at all]]

[[At its death, the fragment of your soul core in it will be shattered. It will be a violent experience, but thankfully since your main body is still alive your soul will naturally begin to rearrange the shattered portion, but you cannot be awake during the initial process]

[[Also due to its imperfect state and your heavily low level you can only handle certain skills before even you give in to fatigue]]

"Why?"

[[Do not forget that you will not just be feeling some sort of pressure, you will be splitting your mind into almost two halves and depositing it into the clone's empty mind. After that point any heavy skills you cast through it will still be felt even by your main body]]

[[Though this is due to your low level. Things will change even in the fifth tier]]

Noah could only nod in understanding. Staring at his left palm he clenched it in resolve.

"After this mess let's break through into the fifth tier. We've spent too much time this weak. Our power is getting outdated," he explained, getting on his feet.

[[What are you gonna do now?]]

"I'm summoning the clone of course. I need to get used to its feel before the big fight."

"Erolia, prep yourself for a fight with my clone," ordered Noah. And although she didn't stop floating she nodded.

She'd formed the habit of simply floating about. At times Noah wished he had that ability. Every space seemed to be void of gravity to her.

Tapping the skill, Noah tapped once again at the message of confirmation from the system. His eyes danced around for a bit after he confirmed the activation.

Then it happened.

A strange sensation akin to falling swelled In his belly and he frowned.

His belly tensed and to his shock, he spat a mouthful of silver blood.

Still, right before it touched the floor several magical runes appeared to emit a soft silver light that made the mass of blood hover above the ground.

The red, silver, and white runes no less than five in number expanded at that point, transforming into full-blown magical triangles and circles. They even expanded past Noah's feet.
