Undying Warlord

601 Planetary Warzone

'Damn…'

Dilan listened to his sisters for several hours, until Marie finally came to the point that Siegfried had already mentioned. A few years ago their group found an island in a huge sea. The island turned out to be the flying island of the 341st Image of the Queen of Immortality, and they ended up high in the sky, hidden through the Curtain of Invisibility.

Most eyes were unable to see the flying island and that was certainly something to look forward to, especially since only Gods should actually be able to see through the curtains without special permission.

The only God in their surrounding was the Sun God, and that guy had more than enough trouble from the other borders all around him.

He searched for the flying island every now and then, but it was not actually the Sun God's focus. That was a small surprise for Dilan, who had begun to wonder if it was a mistake to end the army of Rasnian and Ligrav with a single large-scale attack.

He attracted too much attention through that, which might as well create problematic aftermath.

However, the others were not really worried about that, so Dilan's worry dispersed.

"All of you…went through a lot…I'm proud of you!" He said when Marie finished up her story about the last 27 years. There were many details she had left out but she was not ready to speak about them, not yet.

It was clear to see that the last 27 years left behind a huge scar on Marie's mind, and she was not the only one, who was traumatized by the happenings after the Fourth Awakening.

Unfortunately, it was something they had to live with. It was important to overcome their traumas and accept the past, no matter how terrifying it was.

Dilan knew that very well and he was pretty sure that he had overcome the worst traumas his father had caused him.

'The only things that trouble me are the other human races and the Factions that use humans to play with our minds…Most of them abused our weak will and made us become subordinates to fight their wars…that is so fucked up…'

The 'us' mean the humans from Milarn that were getting thrashed without a way to actually fight back against the masses of monsters and powerful races that had emerged on Milarn during the last 27 years.

Right now, the strongest Ascender from Milarn was at the fifth Tier. Even if they were extremely resilient and equipped with the best stuff a DemiGod could find, it would be very hard to face Lesser Gods and protect a territory large enough for hundreds of thousands of humans to live.

Dilan knew that the Queen's Image was a blessing for the Undying Group and the few tens of thousands of humans that civilized the flying island with more than a hundred thousand flying monsters habituating the forest of the flying island.

The flying island was tens of kilometers long and wide, providing enough space for many more people to live on. The only problem was to find humans and to be certain that they wouldn't betray you.

Lara and Marie told him a few stories about humans betraying one another in the hope to gain the favor of a bunch of other races, and their Gods. In the end, most traitors ended up dead, but that didn't really change the fact that there were far more traitors than one could wish for.

The overall situation of the flying island was pretty good, especially after the Image devoured more than a million Essence Crystals. She wouldn't have a problem staying in the air for a few years as long as it was not necessary for her to activate certain energy-consuming functions.

Marie and Lara began to cry a little bit again after they heard Dilan's words which were filled with pride. He was truly happy and proud that they overcame the last 27 years, and that most of them were still alive.

It was truly something to celebrate, but Dilan could tell that there was too much work for him to do.

'I have to make up for the time I left for the City of Trials…'

Dilan knew that he worked his ass of in the City of Trials, yet, that didn't mean he was given time to relax just because he came back to Milarn!

'I cannot consider the last 10,000 years vacations…by no means…but I might as well consider them as a trainings camp rather than the horror the others went through…though I doubt that anyone would want to change places with me…'

He smiled weirdly, consoled his sisters, and looked at his nephew with a faint glint in his eyes.

"I have yet to see how strong you and the others are…how about we hunt a few monster hordes?" Dilan asked lightly, but Siegfried stiffened at that comment. He looked at his uncle with widened eyes as if he thought of Dilan as an insane old man.

"...how about we conquer a few Gates rather than monster hunting around here?"

Dilan looked at his nephew, shrugging his shoulders, "I don't mind either. What's so frightening about hunting hordes in the Shikan plains? Is it because there are fewer monsters now? I noticed that on my way to you guys…it's truly annoying that there are no big hordes around…"

Marie and Lara were not also looking at Dilan as if he had a few loose screws. He knew that he was not perfectly normal in his head, but his sisters' reactions were still too harsh.

It was not like he asked Siegfried to go out and hunt the armies of the Sun God!

"Ahh…we forgot to mention something else…" Lara suddenly realized their mistake, clasping in her hand.

"After 27 years, we have less temporary Gates where swarms and hordes of monsters emerge. Most monsters emerging on Milarn come here by accident, or they intentionally enter the pits of hell in order to activate and make use of the Primordial Ascension's system.

They're intelligent enough to understand the dangers they face by coming over to activate the system. After all, there are…or were thousands of races that emerged on Milarn to fight for their right to activate and exploit the system!

Either way, most newly generated Gates are rather dangerous, filled with numerous powerful monsters, and they're permanent. As if that's not enough, these permanent Gates are usually Gateways that lead through a huge isolated region where several Gates are connected, creating Gateways between different planets."

Dilan digested the information and he nodded his head after a while.

"That basically means Milarn has become a Warzone for every race in possession of Essence crystals…After 27 years all those races still want to reap the benefits of the system. As for monsters, those without intelligence come over by accident, but those are only the minority. THe real deal are monsters with intelligence, who come over intentionally to become stronger, evolve, and turn into the King of their race…or whatever their intention may be.

These intelligent monsters are probably not visible because they avoid most battlefields or the areas where most battles are fought…I see…

That's a big mess, I can tell!"
