Undying Warlord

502 The Family's Tumor

"I don't know…it sounds enticing…but how strong are you really?!" The old man with a strong physique and disciplined stance asked all of a sudden.

Clark jumped up from his chair at the sight of his father and he gave a salute to his old man without a hint of hesitation.

'At least there are someone Clark respects, that's better than nothing,' Dilan looked at the father and son duo with an interested expression before he averted his attention to his sisters.

They were holding hands were smiling from ear to ear and it looked like they were having the time of their life. Dilan was happy that he brought them together. For the first time in forever, the three siblings were genuinely happy, something that could never be the case if their father were to be by their side.

'If we exclude this piece of shit, we could have been a happy family…' Dilan was deep in thought and he sighed, thinking that their father was truly the reason for everything bad that had ever happened to them.

'It is almost as if he is the tumor of our family. The malignant tumor that can never be removed by ordinary means,' He thought, feeling as if he was suffocating.

Dilan didn't even notice that both Clark and his father were still talking to him. He was blankly staring at the spot between them and it required a punch with full force to bring him back to his senses.

Clark was a petty human being. Thus, he punched Dilan with all his might when he received the chance to pay him back.

Yet, the one screaming out in pain was not Dilan but Clark.

"Arrghh!!! Fuck! What the hell is your body made of!!" Clark cursed as he gingerly held his hand.

Dilan regained his senses and he smiled lightly. He didn't even feel Clark's punch if he were to be honest.

"I don't know what you expected. My Health is above 1100 Units even without the use of any stat amplifying abilities, and I am in the possession of a special trait called [Iron Skin]. The name is pretty much self-explanatory," Dilan answered, not even bothering to lie or leave out something.

"Health above 1000 Units? How…." Clark was barely able to speak and he was glad when his father pulled him back, taking charge of the conversation with Dilan.

Oddly enough, Clark was not able to look straight into Dilan's eyes anymore. Watching the young man, who was a year younger than his wife, he couldn't help but feel terrified.

Dilan's image kept improving in Clark's mind and he was truly grateful for his father appearing inside his shadows.

"I can tell that you are very powerful, but how can you reassure us that it won't be more dangerous for Lara to migrate to Camsun? By conquering the entire continent you must have made many mortal enemies. If they find out about your sisters, they might kidnap, or even kill them if the chance occurs. Do you really think that you can protect them, in the new age of Milarn?" The old Mekaz asked, his voice overflowing with genuine curiosity.

He was not making fun of Dilan or trying to undermine Dilan's authority or strength. On the contrary, the old man was trying to find out the extent of Dilan's strength, and if it was worth following him or not.

The old man could tell that more dangerous times were about to strike them and that the current dangers were just the beginning of a truly chaotic world.

The Hordes of Chaos and Destruction had already been troublesome enough. In fact, they were still facing the troubles of the Hordes of Chaos and Destruction whenever a new Chaos Monster found its way to the flower plain.

Dilan could also guess that the current predicament was not only about Lara. He felt an opportunity arising in front of him and it would be stupid to waste the precious opportunity.

'If we can get the knowledge about the Golem Magic and the Magic Artillery, we could grow much stronger in no time…' He thought, clutching his fist tightly.

"I guess you were too stup…distracted to see how strong I am…If you want to test my strength to make sure that I'm powerful enough, just tell me what monster to fight, and I will do it," Dilan answered confidently, his sky blue eyes glowing in determination as he looked deep into the old man's eyes.

The old man returned Dilan's gaze and a smile crept up on his face automatically.

'Clark…why can't you be more like your brother-in-law?!?' The old man lamented in his mind before he cleared his throat.

"Have you ever fought a Behemoth?" He asked Dilan, who shook his head.

"I presume that it's a Chaos Monster?" Dilan guessed, considering that he saw many Chaos Monsters all around Arikan.

"Well, you can say so. It's a primeval Chaos Monster that is even larger than your Red Dragon. The Behemoth is widely popular owing to many mythologies but the one, who emerged on Milarn seems to be a lesser form. It has pale white scales covering its entire body. Its' head is similar to an iguana, it has large nostrils which make it difficult for the Behemoth to see. The eyes of the beast are pitch-black, and it has jagged teeth that get shorter the further back they are, resembling those of an Alligator.

As for its strength, it is stronger than your little friend here!" The old man finished his detailed description of the behemoth, causing Dilan to smile wryly.

He didn't really need such a detailed description of the Behemoth, just its habitat, and a rough estimation of its strength.

"The behemoth is stronger than Rory? That's not bad! And where can I find it?" Dilan asked excitedly, looking as intrigued about the monster hunt as before.

"Are you sure about hunting it?" The old man enquired, "you don't know us and I might lead you into a trap. Don't you think that I would message your father to improve my relationship with him now that he is so powerful?"

When their father was mentioned the sisters' heads flicked over subconsciously. They looked over in terror and even Clark couldn't help but look at his father worriedly.

"It would be quite stupid to betray me," Dilan merely answered while calming his churning heart. He cleared his throat and sorted his thoughts, just to abandon them as a small devilish smile crept up on his face.

"What's the use of betraying me to strengthen your bond with someone, who is bound to die at my hands, either way?" Dilan asked, his eyes ice-cold as he revealed his plan to end his father's life.

The old man looked at Dilan and analyzed his response, and the blue hue in his black pupils grew stronger.

"You know how strong your father is, right?" He asked to make sure that Dilan knew what he was talking about.

"I heard a few things about his strength from Rory. She had a short encounter with him," Dilan spoke in all honesty before his devilish smile widened into a grin.

"But that was not enough to scare me! I will tear him apart if push comes to shove!!"
