Lu Xun wasn’t making that up. Some people still feel that way even now.

Lu Xun was fairly handsome. More importantly, he had always maintained a dignified appearance at work and was intimidating. He just has that elite look to him.

Even if nobody knew how good his acting was, they would still be happy to dish out flattery at him.

What they hadn’t expected was that deep down inside, Lu Xun was quite a narcissist!

“I could be a little fresh meat too if only I am a few years younger…”

The look that Lin Yiyi was giving Lu Xun right at this moment was very indescribable. “Except that now you are just an old preserved meat.”

“Why are we talking about little fresh meat and old preserved meat anyway?”

He has had enough!

Neither one of them looked like their usual selves when they arrived at the Lin’s mansion.

Meng Yuran was very observant. He immediately noticed that the Lu guy’s face was dark and his mother looked uneasy.

When Lu Xun left, he still seemed like he was upset over something.

There was definitely something going on between the two of them!

Fishing out his cellphone, he searched for a little while and located Lu Mingzhe on his WeChat.

When they were at the amusement park last time, Lin Yiyi had everybody added everybody else on WeChat in case they got separated.

The two teenagers would never have added each other otherwise.

Meng Yuran sent out a text: I think your little uncle professed his love to my mom and was turned down.

Lu Mingzhe: ?

Finally getting a chance to gloat in front of Lu Mingzhe, Meng Yuran sent a second text: As such, he’s in a bad mood today. I suggest that you try to comfort him when he arrives home.

Lu Mingzhe: ……

The last thing that Meng Yuran said was: Now I can finally be rid of the two of you [waving goodbye]

So that was what you wanted to say all along, wasn’t it?

Lu Mingzhe was speechless over Meng Yuran’s childish behavior.

That being said… If only his little uncle has the guts to do that, he wouldn’t be where he was right now!

Lu Mingzhe didn’t believe in one word that Meng Yuran had said.

After a while, when Lu Xun returned home, he saw his not-so-pleasant nephew standing on the top of the stairs looking at him quietly and expressionlessly.

“What are you standing there for?”

Almost scared the crap out of me! It was so late at night that he thought it was a ghost standing there!

Such was the issue with big houses. It was too sparse. Especially at night, it could be very scary unless all of the lights inside the mansion were turned on.

The Lin’s lived in a mansion as well. How was it that their place always felt warm and not ghastly like his?

Must be bad fengshui!

And then there were his brother and his nephew’s expressionless face. In some ways, they were scarier than ghosts…

Thinking about his deceased brother sent a chill down his spine.

Would he be floating over the house and looking down at him through his two empty sockets right at this moment?

“You didn’t come home for dinner and didn’t call and let me know today.” Lu Mingzhe had a calm look on him. Even his voice was monosyllabic. “Did you go over to the Lin’s?”

Lu Xun had truly forgotten about his nephew.

But then again, he quickly recalled that they have a nanny at home. It wasn’t like nobody was there to cook for him. He couldn’t have starved. Just like that, he had instantly alleviated himself from the guilt.

“I had dinner with your Aunty Lin at a restaurant. I was only at her place for a little while.”

He didn’t stay until dessert after dinner nor chatted after dinner until it was bedtime. Something was obviously wrong!

No wonder Meng Yuran had said what he said.

Lu Mingzhe nodded and said, “With your long face, someone thought that you were in a bad mood because you have been turned down after you professed your love.”

Lu Xun, “…. Who was turned down after they had professed their love?!”

Who was spreading this rumor? How dare they smeared his name like that!

Lu Mingzhe gave him a look. “Make sense. You don’t even have the balls to do that.”
