The Urban Dao Child

Yang Dao slashed his sword at the Daemon in front of him and the speed of the attack was so fast that some of the people could not even watch it.

In a blink, the young boy appeared behind the Daemon, the creature was standing in its place, all its movements coming to an abrupt halt. The trial spirit's voice sounded, "You have completed the first stage of the final contest, you can send out one of the participants and they will be considered as a pass.  As you advance in the stages, the difficulty will increase based on the average strength of the group."

Yang Dao, Bai Hu, Seth, Hector, and Natalie Brookes were shocked at this announcement. They thought this was the final contest. The young boy felt a twitch on his lips and said, "You know trial spirit you are twisted in your brain."

The trial spirit only replied, "You only have a minute to decide whom to send out."

Outside the people heard this and they were surprised as well. None of them had any inkling that something like this will be a problem. Sun Eckhart frowned and said, "If the challenges will get tough based on the average cultivation, then they must send out the stronger to ease the burden. However, this will greatly affect the whetting process."

The sect master of the Immortal Sword Sect added, "Indeed, it will be detrimental for the future growth. But if they selected the harder route, the risk of life will be greater."

The fellow sect masters all nodded at this point. They wanted to guide their disciples about this but they were prohibited by the isolation.

Inside the isolated space, Bai Hu mentioned the points stated by Sun Eckhart and his master. Yang Dao said, "We can try to take on the next stage with the current formation, but if the trial spirit deployed more enemies, then we will be in a bind. The trump cards will be revealed."

Seth nodded and Hector agreed too. Natalie Brookes said, "How about, I leave first?"

The four guys gazed at her in askance. The girl smiled and said, "I do not have a high martial prowess. The cultivation base is to mainly help me with my alchemy skills. I am just adding on to the trouble if the rules are applied."

Yang Dao frowned and said, "This trial does not only test our skills physically but also the heart we have to face the difficulties on the road of cultivation. It is good that you know your skills. However, your support in the last battle was vital for the group. We cannot say that you are adding on to the burden."

The other three nodded with him in agreement. Yang Dao said, "Big Brother Bai, I suggest we face the next battle with the same group. If there is a second opponent, then I will tackle it alone. Miss Brookes can provide support to me at the priority. We are now more used to these enemies, combat styles. What do you think?"

Bai Hu was the oldest among them and had a better insight into the battle. he pondered over the question and then he said, "I agree with Yang Dao."

The guys smiled and Natalie said, "I have a big family, but you guys will be the brothers I choose out of my free will."

Yang Dao pouted and said, "What about Seth, did you not see how hard he was trying to impress you? Poor guy."

Seth blushed red and said, "Yang Dao, you rascal, you were the one trying to impress her."

"I do not need to try, she was impressed before I even started, too bad I have a fiance back at the ship and she is a super beauty." as he flicked the strand of his hair, Yang Dao commented.

Shakti outside the isolation could not help but chuckle and the other disciples followed her. This conversation was heard by everyone and the disciples all snickered gently. Only the Sect Masters stood without any fluctuation on their faces.

Amil said, "If Athena was here, this guy would not have been so narcissistic, would he?"

Shakti said, "You underestimate him a lot." as she continued laughing.

The trial spirit spoke up again, "The time is up, so who are you going to send out?"

Yang Dao replied, "No one, you throw what you have at us." his voice was high pitched but the heroic aura around his body was visible to everyone. They did not have the time to react when two Daemons did appear in front of them.

Bai Hu and the other three were ready to attack, when Yang Dao said, "Look at their eyes."

The young people looked up and focused on the eyes of the daemons. Bai Hu clicked his tongue and said, "Be careful, their intelligence is higher."

With that said, while the group charged forward to the Daemons, the latter also moved towards them. Yang Dao said, "The speed is higher as well."

His sword was out and it collided with the claws that were coming to shred his body to pieces. The same situation took place in the battle where Hector had swung his spear to meet the claws of the Daemon. His weapon had a higher reach than Bai Hu's sword.

Seth heard the sound and said, "Additional Dexterity."

Yang Dao replied with a yup as he exchanged blows with the enemy. His sword moved very flexibly and attacked at all and every weakness exposed by the Daemon. Suddenly, Yang Dao infused the source energy of the fire and his blade started to mark the Daemon with slash wounds.

Natalie spotted this and said, "Lessened healing reaction." her voice was to alert the guys immersed in battle.

Hector and Bai Hu took it upon themselves to deal the frontal damage and attract the attention of the Daemon while Seth took on the opportunistic style of brawling. His fists moved in perfect sync with the other two landing blows at the openings.

It was not that they had practiced this or not, but they were all so talented that they did not find it hard to set in motion in accordance with their partner. The other thing that surprised everyone outside was Yang Dao. This young child was facing the Daemon alone. His sword was leaving slash wounds and the Daemon was healing them. However, the creature had yet to catch the child. Yang Dao was using a movement technique and was constantly teasing the Daemon.

Natalie Brooke noticed that the eyes of the Daemon in front of Yang Dao had become more agile as time passed, she said, "Young master Dao, be careful, it seems that the eyes of this creature are adjusting to your movement."

Yang Dao replied, "Thank you, can you please take an aim at the eyes of the creature?"

Natalie did not hesitate and did what she was asked to. The fire-tipped arrow shot from her bow, it moved fast but the trajectory was not spot-on. Natalie looked at the arrow in a daze and mumbled, "I missed?"

The people outside were surprised, how could Natalie make such a mistake at such a crucial time. Lysa, frowned and said, "What is happening? How can Natalie miss this shot?"

The young lady had excellent command over her bow. She could not believe what was happening.

Yang Dao moved and the arrow that was going astray was being manipulated by the tip of his sword. The arrow moved in a circle around the two groups before, with a whoosh, it was lodged inside the eye of the Daemon.

No one expected this to happen.

Lysa turned her head to gaze at Sun Eckhart and said, "Sun, you better tell me what was this about?"

She was the only one who could probably talk like this to the stone face Sun Eckhart. The latter also did not let her down and replied, "He manipulated the wind to carry the arrow, providing it an extra speed and letting the wind strengthen the flames on the tip. Otherwise, it will not be easy for the arrow to lodge into the eyes of the Daemon."

Lysa narrowed her gaze and asked, "He can control two elements?"

Sun Eckhart cast her a glance but did not say anything. He did not want anyone to know what his disciple was capable of. KIngs died for glory and cultivators died for treasures. This was how the world world. The immortal plain was more so like this.

As the arrow lodged in the eye of the Daemon, the creature let out a roar, this attack definitely hurt him bad. Yang Dao chuckled and said, "Take the eyes, they seem weak."

With that, the pace and direction of the battle changed. The attacks were all diverted to the heads of the Daemons, and Natalie will take the opportune moment to strike with her arrows and injure the Daemon in the face. The battle was brutal and it has just begun. However, the sync of the five disciples improved as they fought on.
