Panda Novel

Song Xianhe was a lot more cultured than his third brother. He said with some respect and humility, “Abbot Fangzheng, what about my father’s illness?”

Fangzheng didn’t say a word, but he walked over. He carefully observed the elder. He was an elder with an extremely amiable look. He had white hair, but his skin was sallow. His eyes were tightly closed as though he had fainted, but his brows were tightly furrowed. He was likely conscious.

Although the elder was very thin, he was very clean. There were no odd smells coming from him, clearly the result of him being bathed often. His personal hygiene was definitely taken care of by a diligent person.

Looking at the nurse beside him, Fangzheng understood that the three brothers were rather rich.

However, Fangzheng was puzzled. The three brothers didn’t look alike. Song Xianhe was like a staid middle-aged man with the bearing of an experienced boss. If not for Fangzheng being able to tell the black baneful aura from his body, even he could have easily misidentified him as a good person.

The second brother had a flattop. His face was squarish, but his facial features were drooping, making his looks rather unharmonious. There was also a little problem with his mouth. With Fangzheng’s keen eyesight, he could tell at a glance that he had had buckteeth in the past, but he had had surgery to correct it. However, there were still some side effects.

His eyes were very small, but they carried a sharp look like he was a guard on constant alert.

The third brother was a brawny, bald man with thick eyebrows and big eyes. His lips were thin, and his ears were big like fans. His arms were thick and his palms wide. He was an obvious boor.

In short, it was hard to tell that these three were brothers simply based on appearance. They didn’t look alike in any way. Fangzheng seriously suspected that the three were not blood brothers. And what truly puzzled Fangzheng was how the three brothers didn’t seem to be related to the elder in any way either.

This was because the elder had a long, thin face. His facial features were completely different from the three brothers’.

Fangzheng was somewhat confused. What was going on?

At this moment, Second Brother was somewhat displeased that Fangzheng hadn’t answered his eldest brother, Song Xianhe. However, he didn’t act provocatively and simply repeated the question. “Abbot Fangzheng, can you treat my dad’s condition?”

Fangzheng touched the elder’s pulse and said, “A vegetative state caused by heavy impact. This Penniless Monk can treat him.”

Upon hearing this, Song Xianhe was clearly excited. Second Brother grinned while Third Brother rubbed his bald head without any concealment. He laughed out loud and said, “Haha, there’s finally hope for Dad. F**k, it really wasn’t easy finding someone!”

After cursing, he gave Fangzheng a solemn gaze. He immediately moved his hand from his bald head to his mouth and covered it tightly. He stared with eyes like huge round bells without daring to make a sound. His pitiful look was rather adorable.

Fangzheng was left at a loss whether to laugh or cry, but he had to admit that although the baldy was somewhat boorish and unmannered, he really cared for his father.

Song Xianhe immediately came forward and said, “Abbot Fangzheng, then… Are you willing to save my father?”

Song Xianhe knew that Fangzheng didn’t only treat others depending on the medical condition, but also depending on their virtue. That was why he still had that question.

Fangzheng shot a glance at Song Xianhe and asked, “What do you think, Patron?”

Song Xianhe thought and said, “My dad is a good man, a really good man. Abbot Fangzheng, if your standard is to treat good people, my dad definitely meets the criteria.”

The baldy Third Brother also cried out. “If my dad is a bad person, then there’s no good people in the world! Abbot Fangzheng, are you treating or not?”

Second Brother said, “Abbot Fangzheng, just name your price for the treatment. The three of us will raise the money no matter what.” As he spoke, Fangzheng saw the baneful aura around Second Brother stir. Clearly, he was up to no good. Any money he raised would be gained through sordid deeds.

Fangzheng shook his head. “It’s both difficult and not difficult to save this patron.”

“What do you mean? Is it difficult or not difficult?” Third Brother’s brain was quickest to react. He just wasn’t too smart. His brain moved quickly along with his mouth, so he was the first to ask the question perplexing the brothers.

Fangzheng chuckled. “It’s not difficult for This Penniless Monk, but it’s difficult for the three of you.”

Third Brother looked at Fangzheng in a daze as a question mark seemed to appear above his head.

Song Xianhe frowned as though he was pondering over something.

Second Brother was somewhat dumbfounded too. He couldn’t understand what Fangzheng was getting at, so he asked, “Abbot Fangzheng, can you not leave us hanging? We don’t understand things when you beat about the bush. Tell us directly what’s needed to treat our dad’s condition.”

Song Xianhe and Third Brother looked at Fangzheng as well.

Fangzheng said, “This condition isn’t difficult for This Penniless Monk to treat, but the treatment cost will have to be paid for by the three of you.”

“F**k, I knew it. There’s no free lunch in this world. Money is needed after all.” Third Brother subconsciously cursed before he shut up.

Song Xianhe glared at him, warning him not to speak again. He then gently asked, “Abbot Fangzheng, please tell us your requirements.”

Fangzheng said, “Bring this patron down the mountain. This Penniless Monk will arrange for you to stay somewhere. Once the matter is over, This Penniless Monk will naturally come for you and treat this elderly man. Don’t worry. This Penniless Monk won’t accept any money, but the three of you will need to do something for This Penniless Monk.”

Upon hearing this, Song Xianhe frowned. He really wouldn’t be worried if Fangzheng wanted money. He was just afraid of any baffling requests Fangzheng might have. He didn’t like feeling puzzled, though, as he preferred for everything to be clear. Then, he could think over it and have the feeling of being in control.

Unfortunately, he was helpless at this moment since the initiative wasn’t with him.

Second Brother squinted his eyes as though he was pondering over something. A light shimmered in his eyes.

Third Brother also frowned, and his eyes showed some displeasure.

Fangzheng ignored them and waved his hand. “Patrons, go down the mountain. In three days, This Penniless Monk will head down to you. Don’t cause any trouble in these three days or you can forget about the treatment.”

Upon hearing this, the trio only looked forward to the time three days later. However, they felt uneasy when they heard the last sentence. What was this? Did they look like people who would wreak havoc?

The trio still wanted to say something, but when they raised their heads, Fangzheng was already gone.

Helpless, Second and Third Brother looked at Song Xianhe.

Song Xianhe looked at his slumped father and looked at Fangzheng, who had already distanced himself, and said, “Let’s go down the mountain. Make sure you behave yourselves when we’re down there!”
