The north of S City was a suburb and was slow in development. So, Jiang Xuecheng drove for more than ten minutes before they found a flower shop.

Jiang Xuecheng and Su Wan came down from the car and went into the shop but saw no one.

Su Wan frowned. The boss was too careless to leave his shop without someone watching it. Wasn't he afraid of thieves?

Or was the business was so cold that the boss had no mood to entertain customers?

Su Wan saw a small partitioned room separated by a green curtain and thought in her heart that the boss might be inside. She called out loudly, "Hello, is anyone here? Boss, are you here?"

After a few calls, no one responded.

Su Wan looked at the green curtain and hesitated for a while. Would it be too bold if she were to barge in suddenly?

Jiang Xuecheng was more open-minded than Su Wan. He came forward with a great stride and lifted the curtain.

After the green curtain was lifted, Su Wan saw an old man lying down and sleeping on a rattan chair. The edge of his lips was wet, as if he had dreamt of something delicious and was drooling.

Su Wan was speechless as she glanced at the old man. When she saw his leisurely sleeping posture, she felt he was careless.

What if a thief entered? She was afraid the old man would still be sleeping after the thief had left.

Jiang Xuecheng nudged the old man lying on the chair and woke him up in a voice that was neither too loud nor too soft. "Wake up."

Although he did not wake up, he was agitated by the buzzing sound beside his ears. He felt he was being disturbed and he was unhappy.

It was the beginning of summer, how could the mosquitoes come so quickly?

With his eyes still shut, the old man slowly raised his hand, trying to hit the mosquito. In a shock, Jiang Xuecheng dodged and avoided the old man's slap.

When Su Wan saw this, she felt helpless but thought it was funny. She winked at Jiang Xuecheng, teasing him that an important person like him could one day be a mosquito.

Jiang Xuecheng saw Su Wan's cheeky look and smiled without commenting. He increased the volume of his voice immediately.

The old man lying down on the chair gave a start and woke up. Er, how could there be customers coming to buy flowers in such a deserted place?

Seeing the two blurry figures in front of him, he rubbed his sleepy eyes and yawned. Finally, he realized they were two young people, a man and a woman.

Mmm, they had good appearance and temperament. When they stood together, it was a feast for the eyes.

The old man smiled a kind smile and waved at them in a friendly manner.

"What would the two of you like to buy? Although this shop is not big, we have various types of roses…"

They looked like a little couple. When love was in the air, they would most likely be looking for roses.

Jiang Xuecheng skimmed through the little flower shop and his eyes landed on some white daisies. His eyes were deep and as cold as the night.

"Please tie a bunch of white daisies for us."

Hearing his cold and magnetic voice, the old man was taken aback. He had not expected him to want to buy white daisies. Were they going to Beiling cemetery to pay respect to departed family members?

The old man pointed to some baby's breath by the other side and his look became more serious, "What about adding some baby's breath to the white daisies? The effect would be better."

Su Wan examined the little simple white flowers and said faintly, "Okay."

She and Jiang Xuecheng were going to see their departed parents. The flowers shouldn't be too colorful. White flowers would be the best choice.

When Su Wan agreed, the old man nodded. He took the white daisies and baby's breath. Although he looked old, his hands were very agile.

After only a minute or two, he had tied the two different types of flowers together and made a simple and elegant flower bouquet.

Su Wan's eyes lit up and thought the old man was very skilful at flower arrangement. She smiled gratefully at him. "Thank you."

The old man smiled back and said, "You're welcome." This girl was not only pretty, she was well-mannered too. Compared to this girl, the man beside her was like an ice cube and wasn't likeable.

After taking the flower bouquet, Jiang Xuecheng and Su Wan paid for the flowers and hastily went on their way to Beiling cemetery.

Beiling cemetery was one of the biggest cemeteries in S City. Countless dead souls were having a long sleep under the tombstones.

Su Wan took a glance at the dignified cemetery gate. She and Jiang Xuecheng walked up the long marble steps and entered the cemetery.

The entire cemetery not only covered a large area but also had lush greenery. Now was just the beginning of summer but there were intermittent sounds of cicadas, adding some vitality to the desolate and empty cemetery.

What Su Wan and Jiang Xuecheng did not expect was to see a familiar figure before they reached Su Wan's parents' tomb.

A middle-age woman in a white dress stood in front of the tomb. She was holding a bouquet of white daisies. Obviously, she had just arrived but was a little earlier than Jiang Xuecheng and Su Wan.

The woman was wearing a huge pair of sunglasses. Although the sunglasses covered her eyes, it couldn't cover her elegant temperament.

She was Gu Zihang's mother, Du Huimin!

Although Su Wan's parents were the Gu family's good friends, after they had departed, the relationship cooled down. How could Du Huimin come to see her departed friends when she treated their daughter who was now alive so heartlessly?

Su Wan frowned and wanted to say a few words to Du Huimin but was stopped by the man beside her.

Stunned, Su Wan darted him a look. Just when she was puzzled, Jiang Xuecheng put his finger on his lips, signaling her to remain silent.

Did he want her to wait and see?

Although Su Wan didn't understand his intention, she nodded and stood silently where she was. She was silent and did not disturb Du Huimin.

Du Huimin took down her sunglasses and looked at the tomb. Finally, her eyes landed on the picture in the middle of the tomb.

As Su Wan's parents, Su Jianyan and Xie Lan, were buried together, the picture was of the two of them.

In the picture, both of them were smiling. One was handsome and the other was pretty. Both of them looked well-matched.

It was rare romance to live and die together.

"Jianyan, time flies. You've been gone for more than three years."

As Du Huimin spoke, her beautiful eyes were dull.

She sighed lowly and suddenly bent down to place the white daisies gently beside the picture in the middle of the tomb.

Du Huimin looked at the cold and hard tomb. She seized her hands and her fingers were pale.

She had always been a strong woman but today, she was aware of her loss of emotional control. However, she did not deliberately control it as usual.

It was probably because this place was too quiet besides the sound of the cicadas and the breeze.

"Wan is married but not to Zihang. You didn't expect this, did you?"
