During Dinner, everyone could feel the tension, so nobody said a word and instead sat in silence.

After dinner, Jia Li went to the dog kennel outside the house. During the days she was passing through grief, Grandfather Fu got her a puppy.

Jia Li fell in love with the puppy, and will at times, bring it into the house. She usually sent it back to its house right before dinner.

Seeing the little puppy that has grown into a dog, Jia Li felt at ease as she shared her problems with it.

Jia Li was felt the tension during dinner, and it made her uncomfortable. She was more worried about the fight that might break out because of the sudden marriage the Old man brought up, rather than her happiness.

She has always been a grateful person and would do anything to show her gratitude, so thinking about herself will always come last.

Jia Li felt better after talking her heart out to the dog before walking back into the house.

Just as she was walking through the hallway, she met someone standing right outside her door. She recognized the person from some distance and quickly made her way over.

"Auntie?." She called out.

Fu Hee turned around and saw Jia Li, then she smiled and said to her, "I wanted to see you, but I had no idea you were not in."

"I'm sorry, Aunty, I went for a walk." Jia Li apologized as she opened her door and let her in.

"Aunty, please have a sit. You wanted to see me?." Jia Li started.

Fu Hee who was looking around her room came back to her senses and went to sit on the single couch there.

"Jia Li, I came to see you because of an important matter, so I won't mince my words." Fu Hee said as she glanced over at her.

Jia Li had an idea of what she wanted to talk about, but she didn't know her stance on the matter.

"Aunty, please go ahead." Jia Li responded as she sat on the foot of her bed.

"I heard about Father's intentions to get you married to my son, and I must say that I am not happy about it. This marriage doesn't seem right, and I don't know if I'm the only person that sees something wrong with it."

Without allowing Jia Li to respond, she continued.

"You are Jia Li are from completely two different worlds, so the marriage between you two can not happen, and I hope you get that right. You know nothing about the prominent families in the City, you know nothing about the power struggles. You are completely innocent about some matter, and I have an idea about my son's taste in a woman, so I can say that you wouldn't make a good wife for him. From what I have said, what do you have to say?." Fu Hee asked.

Jia Li glanced at her before looking down.

"Aunty, to tell you the truth, I feel this marriage won't walk as well. I was also surprised when Grandfather called me to his study and told me about it. He didn't allow me to give an opinion about the matter and asked me to leave."

Jia Li said as she finally fixed her gaze on her.

"Good! I am happy you feel the same way as me. I believe grandfather just wanted to help you to secure a better future, l since you don't have any family, hence he made this drastic decision. Since you have a clear conscience, you have to speak to Father again and ask him to cancel this marriage. Since he listens to you the most, this situation would not be different. So as a mother, I ask you to do the right thing for my son."

After saying her piece, Fu Hee waited for Jia Li's response.

"Aunty there is no problem, I will seek an audience with grandfather and tell her about my opinion. And I'm sorry about the inconveniences I might have caused you." Jia Li said apologetically.

"As long as you do the right thing, I won't have any problem with you. I already arranged for a marriage partner for Fu Hua, and the girl and her family already know about these marriage plans, so I can't disappoint them. The girls' family has always been a close family friend to us, so we can not afford to disappoint them. Well since you have a good heart and you don't have any bad intentions, I will count on your words. Good night."

Jia Li said Goodnight to Fu Hee and walked her to the door. When she left, Jia Li bolted her four and went back to sit at the foot of her bed.

She sighed tiredly and began to think about the whole marriage plan. She could smell trouble, and she didn't want to be entangled in the matter. She didn't want this marriage as well.

Jia Li has never thought about settling down since she lost her parents. And even if she wanted to get married, not to the cold-faced man that never smiles at her.

The only time he shows a little care towards her was during the mourning period and apart from that, they would better off be strangers.

That night, Jia Li thought a lot before finally falling asleep. While she was sleeping, some people couldn't sleep.

Grandfather Fu was still in his study with Butler Lu reporting something to him.

"I knew something like this would happen. And the more she acts this way, the more I want this marriage to happen. Tell me, what is wrong with Jia Li? I see nothing wrong with making her my granddaughter-in-law. I asked Fu Hee to go and settle things with the Bai family and instead, she left it and went to meet Jia Li privately, does she take my words for granted?."

Grandfather Fu has just found out from his Butler that Fu Hee went to visit Jia Li in her bedroom right after dinner. He didn't need anyone to interpret the remaining messages to him, as he got everything.

If Fu Hee didn't go to convince Jia Li to reject the marriage, what else could be the reason she went to see her so late at night.

And knowing Fu Hee, he knew she wouldn't give up especially eye she thought Jia Li was inferior to her son.

Butler Lu who was silent asked for permission to speak by raising his finger.

"What do you want to tell me now?." Grandfather asked.

"Master, I just ask that you consider Miss Qin in this matter. You have already brought her to the limelight, and this could cause a lot of trouble and bullying if she ends up getting married to your grandson."

"I have thought about that, and there is no going back. Jia Li is too innocent about some matter, and I need her to open her eyes and see them. If she can not endure and pass through the phase of her mother-in-law troubling her, could she face the other women that have been eyeing her position as Fu Hua's wife?." Grandfather Fu asked.

"Master, you mean you know that your grandson has a woman by his side?." Butler Lu asked.

"Of course, why won't I know after making some investigations? I just found out he wasn't lying to me, but that does that mean I will let him have his way." Grandfather Fu said as he snorted.

"Master, if Young Master already has someone he loves, why would you force them apart? That will be a wrong move!." Butler Lu said with a little confusion.

"I know my grandson very well, and I know he doesn't love that woman by his side. He has only blindly allowed her to stay by his side for a long time because he probably doesn't have the time to live another. He must have felt that she suited his taste, so he let her be by his side for so long."

After saying this, Grandfather Fu glanced at Butler Lu and continued.

"If my grandson truly loved this woman, I would let them be. But what I can not tolerate is him, keeping her by his side because she has a high taste just like him. The investigation I made shows that he truly doesn't love her, and he is more like managing her. Fu Hua will eventually divorce her in the future if he gets married to her, and that will be a taint on our family name. I can also tell that woman is not 100% genuine with her feelings. After saying all of these, Butler Lu finally understood one of the reasons the Old man was insisting that Fu Hua gets married to Jia Li.

Grandfather Fu tapped his fingers on his desk as he thought about something else.

He made investigations not long ago and found out his grandson was truly seeing someone. And the further investigations he made, proved that he really needed to break them apart, and force Fu Hua to learn what genuine love is.
