"Jia Li, help yourself with any dish of your choice, everything here is healthy, and I specially made this soup for you, it will help to nourish the fetus." Fu Hee said with her gaze on Jia Li, as she pointed to a big bowl of soup she had prepared.

Fu Hee said it was a healthy soup, but most of what Jia Li could see in the bowl were different types of meat, and that made her wonder if she came to drink soup, or eat meat.

Fu Hee's words sounded strange to some of the family members. It was too fast for them to pick. It was Fu ChuHua that grabbed the message fast and blurted out with a surprised gaze directed at Jia Li, "You are pregnant?"

"Wow!" FangSu exclaimed in shock.

It wasn't long before Meixu led the congratulatory messages directed to Jia Li before the others joined.

Grandfather Fu looked excited and couldn't help ordering a bottle of expensive aged wine to celebrate the good news.

Jasmine saw how happy everyone was and asked, "Mummy, what is pregnant?" She clearly heard her grandmother and Aunt-grandmother say those words to her mother.

The curious clueless girl just wanted to know the meaning, and so asked about it.

Her question and her choice of words were found funny by the members of the family. Jia Li didn't know how to explain to the little girl and didn't want to fail in front of the families, given that the little girl's reaction would be, sons he said to her...

"Jasmine, let's talk about it later. Look, grandmother prepared so many delicious meals for us, and you have to help mummy to finish some of them"

Jia Li successfully diverted Jasmine's attention with food, and the little girl did not ask that question again.

FangSu was still ogling the table of dishes presented at the table. She couldn't bear the jealousy that crept into her heart.

"Mum, when I got engaged, you didn't do anything for me. It looks like you only love my sister-in-law." FangSu grumbled.

"What are you making noise for? Just get pregnant like Jia Li, and Aunty will prepare a nurturing soup for you." Meixu said to her.

FangSu nodded and said, "It looks like I have to consider this."

Fu Lei who has been eating quietly glared at his daughter and cautioned her immediately, "If you dare to get pregnant before marriage, I will chase you out of this family."

FangSu cried because of the violence. She thought that her father was too serious with everything, including jokes. 'Was there a moment he laughed?' She thought to herself.

Even the old man of their family laughs at jokes and is not too serious like her father. FangSu found her father boring.

The entire Fu Family ate to their satisfaction while in a good mood. Fu Hee had forbidden everyone from throwing questions at Jia Li concerning her pregnancy.

Fu Hee did this because she didn't want any pressure on Jia Li during her pregnancy, after learning how much she suffered silently with having another child.

After dinner, Jasmine didn't remember the question she had thrown at her mother earlier, and neither her father nor mother brought it up, so, it was slowly forgotten.

While Fu Ling could sleep soundly this night, someone couldn't sleep because she was watching over her mother.

Xiulan's mother has been hospitalized for 2 days now because of a terrible ulcer that she had. Her hospitalization showed that her case was serious.

After getting into the hospital through an emergency call and a test was carried out on her, it was discovered that her ulcer had gotten so bad that she needed surgery.

Her Peptic ulcer caused serious pain and bleeding, and so, surgery was required.

As Xiulan couldn't afford the surgery, The doctors gave her a list of drugs to get for her mother, that could help to soothe her pains a little.

It was those drugs she went to the pharmacy to get when Fu Ling saw her.

Right now, her mother was in serious pain but was trying not to show it, but Xiulan could see it in her eyes. Not wanting to put her in a difficult situation by asking about it, Xiulan turned her head away with teary eyes.

She was pained that her mother was suffering and she couldn't do anything about it.

After a few seconds of crying and getting back on track with her emotions, she wiped her tears away before going to the desk to pick up the antibiotics and antacid.

"Mum, I'm preparing your pills for you. I know that the pain is unbearable and you don't need to hide it from me." Xiulan said in a calm demeanor while pouring a glass of water for her mother.

Xiulan's mother tried to force a smile, but her smile was ugly, and she could sense it, so she didn't bother to stress herself anymore.

When her drugs were ready, Xiulan helped her mother to adjust the pillow before passing the pills to her alongside a glass of water.

After taking the pills, Xiulan fed her two spoonfuls of Antacid before adjusting her pillow again, so she could lay back down.

"Thank you!" Xiulan's mother said to her, but Xiulan smiled over it. "Mum, there is no need to thank me, we are family."

After resting for a while, the pain subsided a little. The pain medication and antibiotics were not working anymore and Xiulan's mum couldn't tell her about it, so she wouldn't have to worry about her.

"Mum, I will speak with the doctor concerning your surgery tomorrow morning," Xiulan said with glistened eyes. No matter what, she must make an effort for her mother's surgery to be scheduled.

Her mother sighed and said to her, "Xiulan, how can my surgery be scheduled when there is no money. Forget it, I will manage with the pain killers."

Xiulan felt so sorry for her mother and her being the only family member she had, was the only reason she has to take care of her by all means.

Pains if not taken care of, can kill.
