The Great Thief

Chapter 1439 - Bonfire Night

Under normal circumstances, even with Remnant Dream, the drops were evidently worse.

Lu Li didn’t have high expectations anyway. It was already worthwhile enough that he could upgrade his items that were under level 60.

With the equipment level penalty now in place, it would be madness to use this set of equipment to fight the Black Dragon Princess. There were others who were in the same situation. Although they had a full set of Epic items, they couldn’t keep the level 55 ones, and some even had level 50 items.

Golemagg the Incinerator dropped some valuable equipment and items. There was the Sulfuron Ingot and the Blastershot Launcher.

The Blastershot Launcher’s effect was just like its name. Critical strikes would be greatly increased, but the stats were fairly average. For someone who was lacking in critical strike, this would be an absolute treasure. Unfortunately, Lu Li was not such a person, so he decided to keep using his Flawless Arcanite Rifle.

However, the usual 300 damage from the rifle was relatively insignificant at this stage. After all, it was only a level 50 item.

There were still a few more Bosses after this, but unfortunately for them, there were not many valuable Thief items. The few that did drop weren’t enough for Lu Li, so these were just given to White Traveller. At the end, White Traveller felt quite embarrassed that he had just taken all of these, so he decided to give his precious belt to Lu Li.

Lu Li was pleased with the stats, so he agreed to trade his belt for White Traveller’s.

Warmaster’s Belt (Epic): Armour 62. Agility +60. Constitution +40. Sockets: 2. Unique Effect (1): Dodge +20%. Unique Effect (2): Disarm: Disables the opponent’s weapon. Duration: 3 seconds. Cooldown: 2 minutes. Unique Effect (3): Teleport anywhere within 15 metres of the caster’s field of vision. Cooldown: 2 minutes. Unable to stack cooldown with other similar-type skills. Level requirement: 55. Durability: 280/280.

This was Lu Li’s Epic belt, which was level 55. At the time that he had found this belt, this was considered to be an extremely exquisite item.

The first unique effect was Dodge, which was one of the most desired stats for Thieves. The second unique effect, Disarm, was an extremely powerful skill in PVP. As for its escaping capabilities, they were quite obvious. Had it not been for the lacklustre defence and stats, Lu Li probably wouldn’t have been willing to trade it.

The belt that White Traveller traded to Lu Li was called Vosh’gajin’s Strand.

This item was usually only worn by Horde players, because it was a reward for a Horde quest which involved killing the Boss in the Blackrock Spires. Furthermore, the trigger to activate this quest was a low percentage, so this item was quite rare.

One day, while he was a replacement for the Blackrock Spires dungeon, White Traveller heard that fishing in the lava was possible. As such, he brought his fishing rod with him. While fishing, a person suddenly fell from the sky and into the lava right in front of him, immediately dying.

This item was dropped as a result of that poor guy who died.

Vosh’gajin’s Strand (Epic): Armour 100. Agility +120. Strength +80. Critical Hit +30%. Unique Effect (1): Sprint +1. Unique Effect (2): Reduces the effects of Armor Crush on the wearer. Unique Effect (3): Blink Strike. After casting, teleport in front of the target and deals 150% damage. Cooldown: 2 minutes. Level Requirement: 60. Durability: 360/360.

This item was more PVP-oriented as the unique effects all enhanced the wearer’s PVP capabilities. Sprint didn’t have much use in Instance Dungeons, and most Bosses didn’t have Armor Crush. As for Blink Strike, well…that was an obvious one.

Blink Strike could be used in combination with Gouge to teleport to your opponent and stun them. Afterwards, you could wrap around to their blind spots and continue attacking or escape swiftly.

It took about half a day before Lu Li cleared the Molten Core with this group.

He only got one item, which was the Aged Core Leather Gloves. Then, he exchanged belts with White Traveller. Surprisingly, it was White Traveller who ended up with a majority of the benefits. Besides the two items that he gained, he also gained two more T1 set items. He had hit the jackpot this Instance Dungeon run.

As for the others, many of their level 55 items were swapped out. The lucky ones already had a full set of level 60 items.

Lu Li was the commander, so his items weren’t that important. It was more important that the rest of the team upgraded their items first.

However, he wasn’t planning on fighting Onyxia today as he had a date. If he was shameless enough, he could say that he was no longer single.

In the earlier years, when games were just starting to gain traction, you wouldn’t know who or what was playing the game with you. Therefore, the line between gaming and real life was extremely clear. There were many weddings in the game with husbands and wives. Strictly speaking, their in-game lives were truly like married lives.

Then, with the rise of the gaming industry and the increasing prominence of gaming in everyone’s lives, the line between gaming and real life begun to blur.

The players nowadays placed a lot of importance in in-game relationships. To find a wife through playing games was no longer just imagination. Since Water Fairy agreed to be in a relationship with Lu Li in the game, it was very obvious as to what that implied.

After exiting the Instance Dungeon, they returned to the Darkshore Stronghold.

It was nearing night, so Darkshore brightly lit. This place was just like Stormwind City, with its fireworks lighting up the night sky and bonfires dotted across the land.

Square Root Three was generous. He decided that on this night, all beer and ale was free of charge. Even though beer and ale were the cheapest alcohols, this still attracted a large number of players.

Honestly speaking, who wouldn’t be able to afford beer? It wasn’t the beer, but the atmosphere that throwing a Bonfire Night brought. This wasn’t like the game events, since players were free to do what they wanted. Players also didn’t need to rush to different places to complete quests and gain fame and items.

Strictly speaking, Darkshore was not a marketplace, but there were stalls everywhere.

At this time, Ruling Sword and Darkshore Stronghold was still in a duty-free stage, so players were able to set up stalls with just a broken cloth. Although most of the items placed on these torn cloths were of average and below average quality, there were occasionally some gems.

Players were drinking beer on the stone tables that Ruling Sword had sponsored.

Square Root Three took out all the repair materials for the Stronghold and allowed Ruling Sword members to play around with them. Other players were also allowed to show off their talents with these materials. After all, these stone materials were extremely common near the ocean.

Anyone could just sit down and instantly become good friends with the person sitting next to, or in front of them after a few glasses of alcohol. They could talk about anything, from their worries in real life, to their past relationship experiences in their younger days.

Of course, most of them talked about the ‘Playing Around’ couple.
