As a member of the five great clans, Shen Yanxiao was still aware of the internal relationships among the clans even without any major events.

As people had speculated, the members of the five great clans were very bright, but they were very careful with each step they took .

If Tang Nazhi left the Holy Roland School, he would never have a good time in the Black Tortoise Clan.

Because of others’ views of her, he was so reckless to go as far as sacrificing himself just to help her regain her face.

Was she supposed to laugh at him? Or she should laugh at herself instead?

Laugh at him for being so muddle-headed  and leaving it to her to decide his future, or laugh at herself for not realizing sooner that she had an utterly devoted and caring friend?

Tang Nazhi halted his footsteps and then turned to look at the smiling Shen Yanxiao.

“Because I believe in your strength, so I have nothing to fear.” With regard to Shen Yanxiao’s incomparable talent in pharmaceutics, he had seen it with his own eyes.

“But, the strength of that Shangguan Xiao is not bad, so how did you know whose strength is higher or lower between us?” Shen Yanxiao smiled foolishly while looking at Tang Nazhi’s earnest expression. It really made her feel very amused .

Tang Nazhi frowned and said without any hesitation, “Regardless of strength, you are the first placer in the entire Pharmaceutical Branch in my heart. Even if you lose tomorrow in the hands of Shangguan Xiao, I will never complain.” At worst, he would just pack his things to return home and suffer from his old man’s scolding, but he still wouldn’t die.

He didn’t like seeing people pointing fingers at Shen Yanxiao. Let alone seeing those idiots who didn’t know the complete truth.

Shen Yanxiao chuckled. She stretched out her hand to erase the character “川” between his eyebrows.

“Alright, that’s enough. That angry look of yours doesn’t suit you.” Being carefree and irreverent still suited her animals  more.

Tang Nazhi opened his mouth, but didn’t say anything. He just smiled in the end.

Shen Yanxiao patted Tang Nazhi’s shoulder and said, “You can rest assured that tomorrow, I’ll let that Shangguan Xiao look good.”

Perhaps this was fate. Because of Shangguan Xiao’s contempt towards Tang Nazhi, she was also against Shangguan Xiao. And because Shangguan Xiao had spoken rudely to Shen Yanxiao, Tang Nazhi bravely stepped forward for her sake.

Now, she was going to take the gamble and win tomorrow’s competition.

This cycle of cause and effect was actually wonderful.

“Are you sure of that?” Tang Nazhi raised his eyebrows. To be honest, he had no idea of Shangguan Xiao’s strength. He only knew that once Shen Yanxiao got her hands on the potion’s formula, not a single thing could cause her difficulty.

“Who knows?” Shen Yanxiao shrugged.

“Hey, keep me in suspense again and I might beat you.” Tang Nazhi said as he pretended to be ferocious and shook his fist.

Shen Yanxiao burst out laughing, and then unclenched his fist before walking toward the Pharmacist’s dormitory.

“Tomorrow you will know. For now, we have to eat early, I’m hungry.”

The two people who went to get their meal had no idea that only after an hour, the news about Shangguan Xiao and Tang Nazhi’s bet had already spread throughout the entire Holy Roland School.

Tang Nazhi actually dared to bet on a new Pharmacist student and put his own identity as a Pharmacist  student at stake. To win against Shangguan Xiao in tomorrow’s competition was such a huge joke.

Qi Xia, who was preparing to return to the dormitory, heard several students’ conversations on his way back, and his eyebrows slightly knitted .

“These two guys can’t really stay idle for even just a moment.”

Looking up at the sky, the corner of Qi Xia’s mouth hooked up into a sly smile. He turned around and walked out from the Magician Branch’s entrance.
