Dai Zhi listened for a few seconds trying to make sense of the scrambled sentence but nothing stood out. Then finally he crouched, "Was it Hao Xuan?"

He didn't break eye contact even for a moment, hoping there would be some reaction, but his words meant nothing to the silver warrior.

Outraged at being disregarded altogether, he grabbed him by the throat and stood up shouting, "Answer me!"

Dai Zhi's eyes glowed red as a powerful aura encapsulated the silver warrior. Finally, he seemed to be able to register that there was someone else there with him since he met Dai Zhi's gaze.

"You...did this!" he answered.

"Give me a name!" Dai Zhi tightened his grip around the silver warrior's neck but that only made him smile.

"Do it...useless...coward! Where were you when...we needed your protection? You...did this! You called that...monster here! Now we must all...pay the price..."

As he talked about the 'monster' Dai Zhi could see the events playing back within the silver warrior's eyes.

He smiled while mumbling to himself, "So it was him, good. I thought he had run away."

He released the grip around the silver warrior's neck and allowed him to fall to the ground.

Dai Zhi turned around to leave but paused for a brief moment, "You can either sit here wallowing in despair amongst the dead or help me bring him to justice. He will pay dearly for coming here, I assure you that."

The silver warrior didn't even have the energy to raise his head, "You can't kill him...we tried already. He really is a monster!"

And then Dai Zhi's words whispered in his ears from every direction, "I know, but I'm a bigger monster."

By the time he looked up Dai Zhi was nowhere in sight but his words continued to ring within his head, 'Run. The dead are about to wake. This city does not belong to us anymore.'

*creak*

The sound of squeaking wooden boards came from inside the house followed by heavy thumping noises, as if someone was waking barefoot on the floor.

The silver warrior stood up with widened eyes, swallowing a mouthful of saliva to dry his parched throat.

"D-Darling....is that you?" he called out gently.

But no matter how much he wanted to run in and check his body could not move.

*Squelch*

*Thump*Thump*Thump*

He could even hear the blood spurting all around with every step and not a minute later the source came into full view, slowly stumbling out of the front door covered in blood.

Her innards were being dragged along behind her, the intestine wrapped around the foot which was the source of the noise. But even after seeing the corpse of his beloved come back to life the most terrifying part was still not the act itself but her eyes.

Her grey, dead eyes that were forced back into the sockets were looking at him with the same eagerness and passion as before.

"My...love...come to me..." she muttered with a raspy voice while extending both her hands.

"EEE- DON'T COME CLOSER!" he jumped back stumbling along the way and falling on his behind.

His attention was pulled to the street where he could see figures trudging out of every house, much in the same condition as the love of his wife.

All the pain and anguish he was feeling before was immediately replaced by fear and an impending sense of doom. Now Dai Zhi's words made sense.

He got back on his feet with some effort and took one last look at her.

"I'm sorr- I can't do this. I will avenge you," he threw out the words before sprinting away at full speed towards the inner city.

All along the way he saw the same thing transpiring in every house, in every street and road.

Dai Zhi appeared at the upper city which was open only to the strongest and his most trustworthy warriors. They had already gathered in front of a five-meter-tall statue of his, numbering a little over 500.

In front were three men that were obviously their leaders.

One of them was a man in full white with gold-rimmed glasses holding onto an exquisite white longbow. This was Micha. (Ch 396 to 399)

To his left was a man in all black with an ordinary-looking blade hanging from his waist. He gave off a sense of coldness when people looked at him, which along with his expressionless face would make it difficult for anyone to approach. But if Hao Xuan was here he would immediately recognize this man as his most loyal sever, Ensis.

To the right was a man covered in a grey robe. Nothing about him was visible other than his hands which were covered in tattoos.
