The Black Necromancer

510 Dyson's Hurdle

Dyson frowned upon hearing Kaladin's request. He had not been expecting it. Instead, he had expected Kaladin to ask him to help with keeping the other Ace Candidates in check, rather than completely taking charge of them.

But nonetheless, he welcomed the challenge.

"I understand. I will do what I can to make sure that they stay in line." Dyson sighed and crossed his arms over his chest. His Law of Majesty seemed to grow and flare as he took on this role. It was in his nature to act as a leading figure for others, and this would play right into the principles that guided his Law.

"I thank you. I will make sure to inform Master of your aid when he emerges from his seclusion." Kaladin nodded his head and turned forward.

"Ah, about that. Do you have any idea when he will be coming out of seclusion?" Dyson suddenly asked.

"That..." Kaladin stopped walking and trailed off. "The Master will not be out in anything less than two weeks, and even then, I am making it seem light. At worst, he might be gone for months." He eventually said.

Dyson's eyes snapped open wide. The main forces of the Army of Destruction would be at their doorstep in days! It was completely unthinkable to imagine that Leon would be gone for months!

"That is the worst case scenario, however. He might be out in a couple of weeks if things go well." Kaladin said again.

"...I hope so." Dyson sighed deeply. He was feeling stressed and this news did nothing to reduce his stress levels.

He was an Ace Candidate, a powerhouse that had been specially raised to fight against the forces that had set their sights on Datar. However, he did not feel like he was all that special anymore. The enemy's forces was made up of geniuses and monsters. Not only that, but there was an even more talented monster on his side that made him look like child's play. However, that monster had taken a step back and would not be there for a significant amount of time, which could lead to a disastrous outcome.

'No, Dyson! Get yourself together. You are strong! Don't let the sight of another's strength make your belief in yourself waver!' Dyson cut off his mental spiral and his eyes turned firm. His aura, which had started to waver and grow unsteady as he spiraled firmed up and strengthened, gaining a sudden boost in power that caught Kaladin off guard.

This sudden reinforcement of his will and sense of self had unexpectedly caused Dyson's strength to grow by a noticeable degree! The Law of Majesty that suffused his body grew denser and more powerful, making his presence soar!

"Congratulations on making a realization that pushed your further along your path." Kaladin spoke up when Dyson's aura had stabilized to an acceptable extent.

"Thank you." Dyson inhaled deeply. "I suppose I also have you to thank as well." A rare contented smile spread over Dyson's face as he felt out the new state of his body. He could feel that everything had been strengthened by some extent, but he would need to take his time to do a more in depth scan of his state in order to understand the more subtle and less noticeable changes that had occurred within his body.

"I will leave you now to handle your own matters. I have some other matters to tend to. Some other summons of my Master have also ascended and I must see to them." Kaladin nodded his head respectfully and with a crackle of lightning, he vanished, leaving Dyson standing along in the hallway.

Dyson stood in thought for a moment before turning to the side to look out of the window that was to his right. The bright rays of light that came from the sky shone down on his body, illuminating him in a golden glow that seemed to add an otherworldly glaze to his skin.

The Law of Majesty that he practiced was one that focused on a general reinforcement of one's body, but it placed a good emphasis on the mind of the practitioner. After all, how could one be truly majestic if one's mind was weak and feeble?

With the latest gains he had made in his understanding of this Law, Dyson's body had been able to rise through the blockade that had limited him recently, and he was much stronger than ever. However, he could not help but feel weak in the grand scheme of things. He felt like a weak mortal peasant who was leaving his fate in the hands of the Peak A ranks that guarded a Kingdom.

However, despite how he felt, he recognized that it was unproductive to think that way. He would need to step up and fight for what he had been looking forward to for so long. It was this mindset that had helped him to steady his mind and make advancements on the Law of Majesty.

'Leon's empty shoes are incredible large, but as the next best Ace Candidate, I have to step up. If not me, then who else? I will lead the Ace Candidates to perform better than ever in the coming war! When I'm done, even Leon will be in awe!' Dyson hyped himself up more and more until the confidence emanating from his body became palpable and almost visible. The air around his frame turned hazy and gained a golden tint while his hair began to float slightly behind him.

He turned around to head back to the hall where the other Ace Candidates were waiting. With each step, his hair swayed behind him in a steady, slow and majestic motion. His Majesty was on display for all to see!

Meanwhile, Kaladin appeared in a room where five summons were waiting. Two of those five had already been in the celestial realm with him for the past months. It was the other three that had just ascended recently.
