The Black Necromancer
153 Finding The Boss Room
Hearing Leon's words, the people immediately turned and fled, fearing for their lives. A cold chill gripped their spines when they heard the first number.
"One."
Rodius and his children remained until Leon began counting, looking at Leon, then they turned and fled. Rodius truly regretted his decision now. Maria had jinxed everything when she had mentioned them making Leon a terrifying foe. He tried to pound that thought into his mind, but he knew that he was to blame this time.
"Two."
None of the people running were slouches. The weakest amongst them were High B rank, so their speed was quite remarkable. By the time the second number reached their ears, they had already fled the sight of the Undead being that commanded such terrifying power. They wished they could sprout more legs to carry themselves quicker.
Back at the intersection, Leon remained where he was. He did not bother calling the last number because he knew that they had already left the limit of his senses. He just let out a sigh and shook his head.
'Sparing them because of Elena? I thought your heart would be as dead as you are.' Nedra chuckled.
'I am still alive in some way, am I not? That means my heart is also alive somehow.' Leon shrugged.
In truth, Leon was conflicted in his mind and heart. He did not know much about Elena, and they were not exactly 'friends', but he did not wish to harm her family. Why was that? He did not know, but those uncertain thoughts dictated his actions.
'I'm a fool.' He told himself and shook his head in disappointment before urging Fenrir onwards. The giant Ice Wolf King huffed at not being able to chew up those enemies, but carried on. For the next twenty minutes, they did not encounter any more groups of monsters. In fact, from what Leon could see, the groups of people began to run into each other. While some began fighting, others simply warily eyed each other and continued moving in the same direction, albeit with a healthy distance between the groups.
Leon kept an eye on the progress of the group that James was tailing the most. The three people were all Peak B rank warriors, and he knew their strength was not to be underestimated. From the way they had easily decimated those Demons, and wiped out any groups of monsters they encountered, he could tell that they held power equivalent to a floor boss on an individual basis.
Hank, an literal tank that swatted down any enemies that stood in his way. From what Leon had seen, he was either not a pure human, or he had a transformation skill. The man could increase his size on a whim, and his power grew with his size.
Dee, the chatterbox hornet. The lanky man ran his mouth a lot, but was an incredibly dangerous person. The worst thing that could happen to you when fighting against him was to lose sight of him. Before you could blink, your throat would have been slit.
And finally, Aaron, the one with the Emperor Eye. Leon knew the least about Aaron, but after a bit of enquiry from Joseph, he had found out that the archer most likely possessed a Supreme Skill called Emperor Eye, which allowed him to survey the entire battlefield.
Although this was just guess work, Leon did not take this news lightly. He knew that he would have a tough battle ahead of him, even aside from those three. There were other strong people who had noticed the presence of his summons tailing them from afar and destroyed them immediately, so he had no information on them.
"Do not worry, master. I shall smite them underfoot!" Fenrir bellowed, raising his head proudly. Leon nodded his head and patted Fenrir's neck. They they continued travelling forward.
.
.
"Is this it? The boss room?" Dee asked Hank as he looked around the massive doors. The large double doors blocked off the path and gave off the same vibes as the path to the boss room.
"Who knows?" Hank mumbled, rubbing his chin. Just then, he turned around and peered into the distance. From around the corner, he saw a giant, black snake slither into view. He initially thought it was just a random monster, but then another dark being came around the corner. A giant reptilian figure that walked on two feet. Then a giant, humanoid figure with no facial features.
One by one, various figures began to emerged, and the group had a bad feeling. But Hank's eyes were narrowed on the armored skeleton that sat atop the head of the giant wolf. Without a doubt, this person would be a challenge if they wished to conquer the floor boss.
Hank raised his arm, and a circular shield unfolded around his forearm, spreading until it was as large as his upper body. He watched warily as the skeleton raised its arm, only to see his shadow waver, and a black form dash out of it and take the form of a human. The humanoid shadow kneeled at the foot of the giant wolf, and Hank's eyes widened.
"You are the one who sent those Spirit Summons before." Hank stated with certainty. It was not a question.
"Yes." Leon nodded his head. "I would advise you not to get in my way."
"Hey! Who do you think you're talking to?!" Dee suddenly yelled. He waved his fist angrily in the air. But Hank did not even put his mind on Dee's ramblings. He was instead thinking of the implications of Leon's summon hiding within his shadow.
"You know what we can do, I suppose. So you must have made plans on how to subdue us." Hank looked up at Leon with critical eyes.
"Yes." Leon nodded again. "If we do not stand against you, can you at least guarantee us some benefits?" He hoped that Leon would be reasonable. The fact that Leon had no attacked them yet gave him some hope.
