Although they're spread out, they must have a way to communicate with others in their team. They all simultaneously panicked, trying to remove the dud bullet and loading another before pulling the trigger.

*TACK!*

However, just like before, it misfired.

Confusion was painted on their faces. After all, the guns must've worked well for them the entire time, enough to earn their seal of approval and believe it wouldn't betray their trust.

However, due to Ember's protective measures implemented with Fatima's help, the gun wasn't firing anymore. It was an obvious outcome for us, who know the truth, but it must've felt like heaven and earth were turning upside down for them.

Anyway, just like that, our 10,000 army emptied a total of three clips each. That's 30 bullets for each of them, totaling 300,000 bullets fired, with at least one kill count each.

A death count of 300,000 sounds big enough to crush an army's heart, but given that the empire had a total of 50 million troops, it was nothing but a drop in the ocean.

"(Master, the sniper troops ran out of bullets. We're recalling them right now.)"

Ember's voice echoed in my mind, speaking to me through the Mental Scape. If they're retreating the troops right now, then that means it's time for phase two!

As Ember stated, portals opened up right after, letting the 10,000 troops that rained bullets down on the enemy retreat. Zeshion, seeing this, turned to me and asked.

"So, is it now our turn?"

"Yep. Well, just take it slow. Our aim is to push the army back, not to wipe them out."

Zeshion nodded his head, his lips curling up into an excited grin.

"Well, it's been a while since we last had a war. Let me have some fun."

"..."

Without waiting for my signal, Zeshion dropped down, creating a large cloud of dust at his landing point. He didn't slow down his fall. Talk about beyond human physiques.

I turned to Vermeil and Blanc, and they too nodded their heads, knowing what to do.

Of course, I don't have a sturdy body like Zeshion, so I used [Shadow Teleportation] instead and appeared at the back of the still-struggling-to-stand-up general.

"Ah, sorry, I forgot to release you. There you go."

When I undid the gravity prison shrouding them, the general glared at me with bloodshot eyes.

"You...! I'll make sure that you pay for this!"

I thought he'd be approaching me with the intent to attack, but instead, he ran away... Right. Well, he might be a general, but he's barely at the 7th stage. I'm not sure how the Empire manages its officers, but why are the weaker guys standing on top of the command chain?

Anyway, as the general ran away, the fatty... wasn't moving. Did he die? Oh, nope. He's still breathing. The other three, who weren't as round as Fatty was, were in the same situation.

"Mr. General! You forgot your officers over here!"

I tried to shout at him, but he was already too far away. Well, no choice. I'm nice, so I'll send these guys straight to where he is.

"Hup!"

I first grabbed Fatty, holding one of his legs, before I began spinning round and round. After I estimated there's enough centrifugal force, I let go while angling him upward.

"Ohh! So pigs do fly!"

I muttered as I saw him fly in a high arc before starting to fall down and... land on top of the general.

"Strike! Bullseye!"

I cheered by myself but noticed Blanc and Vermeil's piercing gazes. Right, enough playing around. I grabbed the other three simultaneously, spinning round and round once again, before throwing them.

Of course, my aim remained true. The three piled right on top of the general, creating a small mountain out of their bodies.

*Pat!**Pat!**Pat!*

A job well done, I dare say. Anyway, with the two goddesses behind me feeling impatient, I decided to walk forward... Only to see Zeshion alone, literally pushing back the entire army.

"What the...?"

With each step Zeshion took, the entire army took a step back in unison. I was wondering if it was rehearsed or something, but after seeing the pile of mangled corpses behind him, I could already guess the reason.

He's going down the visual threat route! He's basically saying, "Approach me, and you'll meet the same fates as those meatballs over there," as he walks onward. Well, at his pace, it would take over three days before they would reach outside of our country's borders, though.

"You don't seem to need my protection, anyway, so I'll just go over there."

Vermeil declared as she flew to the other side. As soon as she faded from view, a large flame tornado appeared, sending the nearby enemy soldiers into a fiery hell.

I turned to look at Goddess Blanc, the last one left with me, but she merely stared back at me with a thin smile. And, for some reason, that smile scares me.

"A-Anyway, let's head on!"

With Zeshion covering the left flank and Vermeil to the right, I guess it's just fitting for me to take the middle. I walked forward, with Goddess Blanc tagging along a few steps behind.

As we came closer to the enemy lines, tamers started to see us and moved to attack.

"..."

Well, not that I could blame them. Compared to Zeshion or Vermeil's side, our side looks a lot weaker. It's technically true, though, so I can't say anything about it.

"But being weaker doesn't mean I'd fall behind random riffraff."

I pulled out my sword and quickly clad it with shadow energy. I was recreating the blades I used to fight the giant jellyfish in outer space. My sword extended over five meters, but it still weighed the same. I tried swinging it a few times, and although it's hard to gauge its range, the edge was sharp enough. Yep, this should do.

"Myriad Phantom Blades, First Form: [Blooming Rose]!"

Without hesitation, I used a sword technique. Dashing forward at blinding speed through the swathes of enemies while waving my sword all over the place. The illusion of thousands of blades coming after me was the only thing the tamers I faced had seen before everything went black.

"You think I'm easy prey, right? Then come at me!"

I provoked them as the bodies of their allies slowly crumpled into hundreds of pieces, sliced and diced like chopped vegetables.

The Empire's army was now ruled by only one emotion: fear.
