Systemless in a Parallel World

200 Liberation War - Blessed (2)

There was only death and destruction.

Hundreds of thousands of Spirits flooded the battlefield less than 24 hours after the surprise attack had been initiated.

Zayn used his Spirit Fusion with the Demon King Spirit to obliterate the strongest Blessed before he resurrected them as Spirits as well. His surprise attack was a great success and the following 24 hours were nothing short of mindless slaughtering.

Zayn focused on manifesting as many Spirits as possible while simultaneously absorbing the Soul Orbs Glutton provided ceaselessly. Their combined efforts allowed the Spirit Army to expand four times in size.

But why was that even necessary now that the Blessed Army was slaughtered mindlessly? The answer was simple; their most formidable force had yet to arrive. The Divine King of the human race had yet to arrive, and Zayn had to prepare for the worst.

He didn't hear much about the Divine King, but it looked like all Gods provided him with their strongest Blessing. They granted the Divine King divine-ranked blessings, dozens of them!

The Divine King may only be a Soul Saint, just like everyone else, but he was in possession of dozens of Divine-ranked Blessings. He was said to be unmoving because every single action put a heavy toll on his body, but Zayn was not sure if that was the truth. If all Gods sent their divine blessing to that man, his body should have been compatible with the blessings, in the first place.

If that was not the case, the Divine King was nothing but a mere puppet who was about to burst apart the moment he took action.

'Blessings are traces of a Divine Being's power. The stronger a Blessing the more Divine Power was granted the human. Either this Divine King is a Divine Being by now, or his mortal body is crumbling.'

Even one Divine Blessing was already too much for a mortal's body too handle. Heroic Blessings were also rare because only one in a hundred million Blessed can handle the Blessing's potency. Zayn figured that his own willpower would be strong enough to handle a single Divine Blessing, but that was already it.

He had only six Soulrings and didn't even form the Omni Soulring first as a foundation to attain godhood.

Why did he know that he had to create an Omni Soulring first to become a Divine Being and handle divine energy? Zayn didn't know. He was just guessing according to the shards of memories that resurfaced in his mind after he created his sixth Soulring.

He knew that he had to create an Omni Soulring to become a Divine Being, but he didn't have the necessary soul particles. Under normal circumstances, he would have to complete nine Soulrings before spending decades accumulating enough soul particles to create the Omni Soulring at last. Only then would he be able to freely control Divine Energy.

That meant the Divine King ought to be a scammer, or the Gods knew that they gave birth to a planet-destroying weapon by granting one being all Divine Blessings.

Zayn felt oddly bothered about this realization. He was an Otherworldler but he didn't want to witness the destruction of the entire planet. Thus, now that the Divine King made his move, he wanted to defeat him. That way, Normies wouldn't have to fear approaching the Blessed and finding ways to cooperate.

WIth the Divine King present it would be a little different. However, once he was dead everything would change. After all, the Gods didn't descend to help their loyal believers. Why didn't they descend to help out? It was a good question and something Zayn was curious about.

He didn't know the answer, but there had to be a good reason, especially after he eliminated most of their loyal believers. The Divine energy the Gods used to grant humans Blessings had not only been wasted but also stolen to manifest the Blessed's Spirits. Their Blessings had been stolen. That should have enraged them, yet they didn't descend or act directly against him.

The Gods merely sent out their Divine King. Was that really it? Could they, not descend, in the first place?

'I know that the numerical advantage won't work against you…but so what?' Zayn thought when he finally understood that the Divine King was likely a pseudo-Divine Being.

For whatever reason, Gods couldn't descend onto the realm fused earth. Thus, they created a being to rule them all without giving that being the ability to become an actual Divine Being.

If they gave the Divine King only one Divine Blessing, it would have been possible for the Divine King to digest it slowly and steadily. Maybe over the course of centuries, the Divine King would have accumulated enough experience and strength to use the Divine Blessing in order to form his own Divinity or recreate a Divinity from the experience he gathered.

However, by granting dozens of Divine Blessings was it impossible for the Divine King to digest any of the Divine Blessings, in the first place, forget about comprehending them to form his own Divinity using the Blessing's excessive divine energy.

They created a marionette that couldn't fight its master no matter what. A marionette that could be considered a pseudo-Divine Being and an existence that would crumble the moment it released too much power.

Many questions flashed through Zayn's mind, but he didn't really mind them all. He just knew that it was impossible to defeat the Divine King with his current strength, no matter how many Spirits fought by his side. Thus, Zayn used the memories of his past that had resurfaced when he created the sixth Soulring.

'If you are a Pseudo-Divine Being, how about I do the same…just in better?!'
