Speed Is King

289 Lady Balastiera

With Elliot's awakened red dragon energy, there was no need for Elliot to take part in the battles himself.

Within two quick minutes, sixteen Dark Brainwyrm Hegemons were killed.

Within three minutes, all twenty were no more.

There were no need to talk about the hundred or so Emperors who had died very ignoble deaths as mere collateral damage between the vicious battle between the Kings and the Hegemons.

It was a clean house.

"Very well done." An impressed voice sounded right next to Elliot.

Elliot blinked lazily and merely smiled.

"You're not surprised that I am here." Came the voice again. He sounded like he waa making an observation instead of asking a question.

"Only Ancients can drive away other Ancients." Elliot said with a simple shrug. "I owe you my life."

"Owe me your life?" Came the amused voice. "I did nothing except to show up, and under another's orders, at that."

"For beings at your level, showing up at such a low level fight is already a huge favor." Elliot smiled with a slight tinge of bitterness in his voice.

"Hahahahahaha! You truly are a unique being. You know your place very well, yet at the same time, you are also nearly as powerful as me. Impressive!" At that, a beautiful woman appeared next to Elliot.

Elliot, who had remained staunchly cool and unmoving in the past few minutes during the clean up and the subsequent appearance of the strange voice, widened his eyes in surprise.

He truly didn't expect the owner of the voice to be a young female human being, and one that looked so warm, so sweet, and so perfectly beautiful at that!

"You… you're a human being?! And a woman??" Elliot asked in shock.

"Why the surprise? You weren't thinking that you're actually the strongest human in the universe, were you?" The drop dead beauty smiled slyly at Elliot and caused his heart to race ever so slightly with her breathtaking charm.

"And yes, I am a woman. I thought it's pretty obvious. Have you not seen a woman for so long that you actually forget how one looks?" She teased Elliot lightly.

"A human Ancient level powerhouse." Elliot ignored her quip and narrowed his eyes as he glowered at her. "Care to tell me where you were when they did this to our planet?"

"Hahaha!" The woman burst out laughing in a peal of pleasant sounding laughter.

"Our planet?" She raised one eyebrow at Elliot and smiled. "We are both human beings, but this pathetic excuse of a planet isn't mine."

Elliot stared at her quietly as his brain took in the startling information and processed its deep reaching consequences.

"How many-"

"Many."

"How str-"

"Stronger than you."

"Where-"

"None of your business."

Elliot snapped his mouth shut and frowned deeply.

"Why are you here?" Elliot asked, slightly glad that he actually got to finish one full sentence.

"As I said, I am here under orders to save your life." She smiled enigmatically.

"Save my life? At all costs?" Elliot asked as an excellent idea began to form in his mind.

"Well, not at all costs per se… but…"

"Good. If that's the case, then save me properly." Elliot said and took out the Tear of the Gods. "Red, we have an Ancient here. Now make me that armor set you talked about."

The beautiful Ancient level powerhouse glanced down lazily for a quick second before doing a double take on the inconspicuous lump of metal on Elliot's hand.

"Is… is that…" She stammered lightly.

"Yes, it's a Tear of the Gods." Elliot said rather smugly.

"I know what it is!" She snapped. "But this particular one… where did you get this from?"

"Why?" Elliot asked her calmly.

"Just answer the question." The beautiful human Ancient said quietly. A thin veneer of killing intent covered her entire body at that moment as she glared at Elliot.

However, Elliot merely looked at her calmly and ignored her intensifying glare.

Finally, after a few seconds, she gave in and retracted her killing intent.

"Fine. You win. Youngsters nowadays don't have any respect for their elders." She sighed. "And you, young man, are the worst of the lot. At least with the others, I could scare them into spilling everything they know. Every. Little. Thing. From when they lost their virginities to how many times they do it every day. But you… your balls are made of iron. You don't scare easily at all. It's such a horrible trait to go with disrespect."

The beautiful Ancient shook her head helplessly at Elliot.

Elliot, on the other hand, couldn't help but wince lightly at such inelegant words coming out from such pretty lips.

"He got it from the randomized reward selection." El'Taras' voice rang out suddenly near them.

"Hooo. Boss, you still have the mood to watch this game? Why aren't you putting out fires? Don't worry too much about things here. I got it all covered." The beautiful woman said to her boss very casually. "And he actually got it from randomized reward selection? With such ridiculous odds? That's a statistical impossibility, especially after he got the Red Dragon Blood Essence. Something is definitely wrong here."

The beautiful Ancient narrowed her eyes and leaned forward to sniff at Elliot. She immediately wrinkled her nose in disgust.

"Just a common earthling who hadn't bathed for days. Bah." She spat.

"Hey! I am not that smelly." Elliot protested mildly.

"Damn right you're not. If you're not smelly, then shit would be edible." The beautiful ancient said much to Elliot's distress.

"Lady Balastiera. Please do as he says. Having an anti-ancient armor would probably be a good thing for him right now." Chairman El'Taras said tersely.

"You're kidding right? With this particular Tears of the Gods?" Lady Balastiera said flatly.

"I am serious. Please do that for him, and please keep him alive for the next eleven months. I am counting on you." Chairman El'Taras said.

"WHAT? ELEVEN MONTHS? YOU SAID ONE WEEK!!" Lady Balastiera roared in surprise and in anger at Chairman El'Taras!

But alas, Chairman El'Taras had cut off communications!
