Rise of The Anti God

697 The Shaking Under The Earth

Damien came outside with Farah since he had no choice but to hope that she would keep up her end of the deal.

"You do realize that what you are planning is suicide? I only told you about the idea of leading it away since you two forced me to say something. But outrunning an Abominable Fiend is another story. Anyway, take me to that island quickly so we can prepare to leave before it reaches any of the cities," Farah said while frantically looking in every direction to see if anything was coming.

Damien didn't respond to her words but instead informed his wives to tell everyone to stay inside their homes and not fear the plague anymore since it had stopped spreading permanently.

"Kalypso, will the lands here always stay dead?" Damien asked since if that was the case, then all the people here would die soon anyway. With no resources and space to live, the entire continent would be filled with death.

Then at that point, everybody would have to move to the Old World, even if it meant there was only death waiting for them on the other side.

"Fortunately, no. The ethereal energy in the air will gradually dissipate the nethereal energy, and everything should return to normal sooner than we expect. But the problem here is that this Abominable Fiend is too dangerous. Master should go to the Old World with your wives. We will be taking a risk but staying here is a guarantee that things will get very difficult for you, Master."

"Kalypso is right. If we assume this monster is at the Noble Ethereal Realm, then don't dream that your lightning speed would be enough to bridge the gap. The prudent thing to do is stop caring about lives that don't matter to you. Even if they all die, your wives will get over it someday," Luna said with crossed arms.

"Luna. You can't expect me to think selfishly anymore. The wishes of my wives are mine as well. Even if you are not a mortal, you should understand these things. It will give you a better outlook on life," Damien advised, hoping Luna would learn something.

He knew when it came to relationships, she was not so 'all-knowing'.

"Hmph, relationships only seem to hold people back as far as I realized. See, even now, you could have safely escaped by yourself if not for all these attachments you have. This is why cultivators never prioritize anything above their journey through the ethereal path," Luna said with a head shake.

At times, she found it frustrating that Damien was getting himself into trouble because of these things.

"Relationships make a person. See, without the relationship between you and me, don't you think you would altogether be the old Luna?" Damien asked while thinking of a way to lead away the Abominable Fiend.

"How bold of you to assume we have a 'relationship'. Even if we have, it was just something formed due to our circumstances. Anyways, you better not get yourself killed after coming so far. The lifeline of the universe literally rests on your shoulders," Luna stressed the last sentence before going silent.

Kalypso's spirit form floated towards Luna, who was preparing to sleep, "You just said it's foolish to put the needs of others above your own, but then why did you do the same thing?"

Luna squinted her eyes as she assumed a power stance and asked, "What do you mean?"

Kalypso scoffed as she said, "Do you think a spirit like me won't notice how your spirit form seems a bit feeble? You sped up Valentina's evolution process, didn't you? Otherwise, she wouldn't have gotten out in time to help my Master. A special ethereal beast like her would at least sleep for years before maturing into a fully grown ethereal beast. But because of that, you ended up delaying your recovery by a lot."

"So what if I did? Did you forget I depend on Damien for my recovery? I just did it to guarantee my own survival," Luna said calmly.

Kalypso shook her head firmly, "No, no. You are strong enough to now exist on your own, even if it means it might take millions of years for you to get better. But you surely won't die, and you could even use the time to find another host. Why are you still staying with my Master then?"

Luna clicked her tongue in annoyance, seeing that this little spirit was getting too nosy, and said, "Don't meddle in things bigger than yourself, little spirit," Saying so, Luna retired into her Shard of Essence.

"Hey! I told you not to make fun of my size!" Kalypso banged the Shard with her hands with a vexed look before mumbling, "It's just temporary..."

However, thinking about Luna's reaction, Kalypso subtly smiled with glee in her eyes.

"I got an idea, but I am not sure if it will work. It's not like we got any choice," Damien said as Farah knitted her brows.

"Tell me what to do, Damien. I am ready to do whatever you want. I can lead the Abominable Fiend away too," Valentina said with strong determination and confidence in her eyes, making Farah roll her eyes, thinking that women like her would really jump into a pit of flames for the person they love.

Damien's eyes became soft as he patted Valentina's head, "No. You won't have to do anything that dangerous. Still, there is something I want you to do. But before that, I have to call Elor and Irene. I would need their help as well," Damien said while telling his wives to regroup as well.

*Thung*

But suddenly, Damien felt the earth under his feet subtly shake, making him wonder if he had imagined it.

*Thungg*

He frowned when it happened again with even more shaking and immediately raised his head to look at the far horizon, only to have his eyes widen in shock.
