Reverse Apocalypse: The Devil's Revenge

51 Vial of Boundless Vitality

The moment the viscous golden liquid traveled down the throat, Liam's eyes widened in shock.

A rush of energy flooded him in an instant. It was almost as if a dam had burst open inside him, spreading a massive current of Lifeforce through his entire body.

The cells in his body seemed to come alive, brimming with vitality from the inside out. The sensation felt somewhat similar to before when the torrent of Arcane Power entered his body, just that it was several times stronger than before. It was an electric sensation, like millions of tiny little currents that coursed through his muscles and nerves.

Liam's heartbeat accelerated and he could clearly feel the blood pumping through his body with the Lifeforce that reached every single cell of his body.

His skin began to prickle and he felt as if a flame was incinerating everything within his body, burning him from the inside out. Liam found himself writhing in pain on the ground, once again, but this time things were a little bit different.

He could feel the searing heat he exuded and it spread through every inch of his body and even outside of it. It was a sensation that was both exhilarating since he could feel that his skin was beginning to shed and that a black reeking mass of impurities was being expelled along with the shed skin, but also terrifying because he was not sure what exactly awaited him. It was almost as if he was consuming the life force that was coursing through him, which included the life force that had been residing within him even before he drank the liquefied Boundless Vitality.

However, Liam couldn't stop, even if it was possible, in the first place. He craved more Lifeforce and was fine with the pain if it brought more pleasant changes to his body. His limbs were getting stronger and his mind was clearer than ever before. Every sense was heightened and the world around him seemed much brighter and more vibrant than ever before.

It was a weird sensation, but certainly not something he hated.

Liam could tell that it was only a matter of time before he could accomplish anything. He would soon be able to move mountains, part the oceans, and rise from the bottom to the top of the Nine Realms.

For the first time since forever, Liam was glad that he had been abandoned and thrown onto Haltan, which was actually weird, the more he thought about it.

He was not sure if his mother had planned all of that but he could tell that it was not impossible for him to attain a kind of strength he never even had the chance to claim in the past.

He felt the power slowly growing inside him, and he was awaiting the moment of truth, hoping that the exhilarating feeling was not only, a feeling, but reality as well.

As the Life force within the liquid of Boundless Vitality was being fully unleashed, Liam let out a thunderous roar. His horn began to exude an ominous purple hue as it grew in size, blood began to trickle out of his eyes that seemed to desire to unleash the power that was sealed within them and his claws raked the floor of the rooftop, digging deep inside it as they grew longer.

His skin shed once again and more impurities were expelled from his body until the last bits of overflowing Lifeforce were used up. The long night would soon end and the sun would shine again above the horizon, revealing the seemingly semi-transparent snow white skin of the exhausted being who had, at last, regained his vigor.

Liam was sweating buckets but he was not exhausted anymore.

His entire body was covered by the black mass of reeking impurities but that was already the worst problem. He released his Arcane Power to shroud his impurities with it before he threw it inside his Small Shop where the impurities were sold for one Arcanium each.

Some monsters would definitely purchase the impurities to eat and devour them to become stronger. Liam didn't know how impurities could strengthen someone but he didn't really care about the reasoning behind that.

He was more focused on himself and the changes occurring in his body. Looking at his arms, Liam could clearly see the flawless skin and both the Arcane Power Channels and the veins that were clearly visible to his eyes under his skin.

His shed skin was also put up for sale inside the Small Shop but Liam was not sure if someone would be interested in buying it. He exhibited it and priced it for 0.1 Arcanium without the intention to research anything. Oddly enough, someone purchased his shed skin almost immediately.

That caused goosebumps to erupt all over his body and he stared blankly at the azure holographic screen of his shop before he swiped over to take a look at his status panel.

His stats and fortune were a sight to behold, but it was not enough to give him a feeling of security.

'Vitality at S…that's much better than expected…but I can tell that it's correct,' Liam thought while circulating Arcane Power through the channels in his body. Controlling the Arcane Power within his body was much easier than before, and all of that was just because of the impurities that had been removed from within his body.

His Vitality was graded at S due to the removal of impurities and the influx of life force. It was only obvious that he was feeling great and much healthier than he had felt for most of his past life. His vitality might have been higher in the past but the feeling was different.

The Vial of Boundless Vitality was certainly a treasure that couldn't be acquired through ordinary means, and that left one particular question etched on Liam's mind.

'Is the Arcane System really a part of Haltan's sentience, or is there another reason for it to reward me with something as valuable as the Vial of Boundless Vitality just for rescuing more than 2000 Natives?'

Liam knew the trouble he had to go through to save the 2000+ Natives, and how hard it was not to simply kill all of them instead. However, he was not sure if these idiots were worth the efforts he had taken and the reward he was given.

Liam didn't complain about the reward he received from the system but it left a few questions unanswered. That was certainly dissatisfactory and it bothered Liam for a little while until he returned his focus back to the more important things.

He had still more than 2000 Arcanium to spend, after all!
