"We want to join your group!"

These five words, as simple as they might sound, caused Liam to stare at the four people in front of him with a deep frown.

It was early in the morning and there was still some time left before dawn. Nobody had been able to sleep properly. Felicia and Jennie were too nervous, praying that their family was still alive and doing well.

Olivia, on the other hand, was skimming through the Arcane Shop, trying to figure out what she could do in order to become stronger as quickly as possible.

She knew that her contribution to the group was not that high right now because she couldn't even lead and control the newcomers properly. Her combat power was also not much higher than Felicia's even though her Soultrait was directly related to an increment in her combat strength.

This irked her enough to spend several hours searching for something in the Arcane Shop. Olivia had found a few things that could help her become stronger, but she was not sure what she should buy and what would be an utter waste of money. After all, these goods were expensive and she wasn't as wealthy as Liam.

At the end of the night, she closed her eyes and fell asleep without purchasing anything.

Meanwhile, the others couldn't sleep because they had been too shocked by the events of the day. They could recall everything with a jarring clarity which made some women bawl their eyes out for the rest of the night, while others were quietly sitting around, seemingly as if they had lost their souls.

Only a few could ignore the events they had witnessed over the course of the day. Too much seemed to have happened, and nobody could really figure out what kind of person Liam was.

He had helped them, but he was also not hesitant to kill them if they became too annoying.

It was questionable whether Liam was sane, or if he was a little crazy. There didn't seem to be any reasoning behind his aggressive attitude, yet, it all felt eerily logical.

That was too scary.

Nonetheless, four people, including the one-armed Derek Hael, and Hellen Wagner, the woman who had dismantled the traps in the cave, wished to join Liam's group.

After witnessing how merciless he was, and being stone-hearted enough to kill one of 'his own people', they still wanted to join his group.

"Huh? Are you guys nuts?"

Liam frowned deeply, pretty sure that some of them had lost their sanity.

"There are only crazy madlads on Haltan, this is insane."

He shook his head but didn't comment on their decision. It was fine to keep them around until they returned to the Golden City. Until then, he would have gathered enough information to tell these crazy idiots how useless they were.

Other than Derek Hael and Hellen Wagner, two more women joined him as well.

Liam had no idea who these women were and he didn't bother asking them about their name either. It was simply not necessary.

He was sure that they would leave soon, either way.

The others noticed that Liam was not interested in them, but they chose to follow him despite their fear. They could tell that he treated the three girls around him differently, quite literally, at that.

This showed Derek, Hellen, and the two other women that they could receive the same treatment, or even better, as long as they were useful to Liam.

He never actually fussed about their attempts to follow him. By now, Derek Hael could only tell that Liam hated useless people, people holding him back, and annoying people who obstructed his train of thought and his plans.

Being deadweight and annoying to an unhealthy degree was a bad combination. That was how Liam ended up killing the most annoying woman, shutting everyone else up. The action might have been wrong but the result was extremely efficient.

What Derek and the others couldn't know was that Liam planned to throw away everyone who was useless once they reached the gymnasium in the Golden City.

He had finished digesting the information the Memory Crystal had transferred into his mind and he came up with a decent route to return to the Golden City.

The route was the least dangerous and it would offer a relatively safe passage for everyone to reach the Golden City unscathed. Liam couldn't bother with too many troublesome fights right now.

He was too worried about the dangers in and around the Jula Valley. Liam was not sure if his mother had planned this as well, but the Jula Valley and the surrounding regions seemed to have turned into a hotspot for dangerous monsters, dungeons, towers, and ancient ruins.

A considerable number of Monsters and intelligent beings emerged in the Jula Valley with their first Arcane Circle intact. Encountering them would be quite troublesome.

Avoiding them was possible, but that was only a temporary solution. Sooner or later, he would encounter a bunch of powerhouses, and he had to be much stronger than he was right now, otherwise, they would defeat him easily.

He came up with a few plans to become stronger quickly, but the best short-term, and long-term solution was certainly to awaken his bloodlines. The Livral Orb was in his possession, which meant that there wouldn't be too much of an issue.

Liam had only one problem; he never bothered finding out how to awaken his bloodline. He had always rejected his bloodline and never thought the time would come when he would actually do it.

He only knew that a medium was required to awaken a bloodline. Furthermore, one had to be physically strong enough to endure the changes that would occur to the body, and specific ingredients, related to the bloodline were needed as well. In fact, the materials were just a means to increase the efficiency of the bloodline awakening and to ensure that it would sail smoothly.

That was also why he turned over to Felicia when their group had gathered. They left the cavern village and were on their way back to the Golden City.

This gave Liam more than enough time to ask the only person who could help him.

"Felicia, ask your Soultrait what I need to awaken my Bloodlines."
