Chapter 90: Hunter vs. Lothar (1)

BANG!

Once Hunter activated Death's Honor Skill on himself, his mind was flooded again with the new information. This time, it was about a dullahan undead race which he took to fight against Lothar.

A few important prerequisites for dullahan evolution were now checked by Hunter, with the most important one — having an army — being the most crucial condition and most significantly improving its evolution.

In this battle, Hunter wasn't a Death Knight.

He was a Death Lord!

"Death's Honor — Dullahan — Death Lord."

This evolution encased him in the pillar of chilling darkness, blowing away Lothar's pawns from him. A few demons were knocked unconscious just from the sheer presence, dropping onto the ground and laying there as if they were already dead.

Once the pillar subsided, Hunter's entire presence heightened, rivaling Lothar's transformation.

Which drew a boisterous wave of cheers from the ghouls.

Now, everyone could put their eyes on him.

Shrouded in a hulking black frame weaved by the dullahan's royal crafting, Hunter's armor exuded a noble aura, which alone was enough to fend off weaker demons, giving them an impression of Hunter being impregnable tower with a heavy punch cannon!

That intricate and exquisite design emphasizing his presence wasn't only for a show, either. From those etched lines, Hunter's cold steam somehow found a way to permeate outside.

Which, in a sense, seemed like this entire armor was sculpted only for him.

Or perhaps Hunter was the only one who could draw the most of dullahan's powers.

Still, that wasn't what took Lothar's attention…

…for Hunter's armor had an odd mantle draping his back. It was flowing in such a bizarre way that it wasn't mere material.

Upon a closer inspection, Lothar widened his eyes as he commented, "A blood mantle."

Ignoring this comment, Hunter began the march forward.

He ambled like an arrogant man. Maybe he was encumbered by the armor, but regardless of the reason, he slowly strode toward the demon…

…who wasn't in the mood to wait for Hunter's approach.

"Kill all those monsters!" Lothar ordered his unit before kicking the ground to fly in Hunter's direction.

He was as fast as an eagle. A few seconds later, his wings flapped again, increasing his speed and turning him into a rocket that could only be stopped by Hunter!

Which he did by taking the demon's first strike with his guard, standing his ground with just a few cracks popping on his gauntlets.

Undeterred, Hunter broke the guard and swiftly chucked his punch, rooting Lothar to the floor with his new strength matching him!

At the same time, his blood mantle fluttered, blossoming into the Garden Of Liberation. Countless roses surged, spreading like wings of a red dragon on Hunter's back.

All of which stretched toward Lothar like thorny spears.

Already amazed by Hunter's growth and potential, Lothar didn't dare to risk anything and added his own skill into this battle, countering those roses with purple boxes popping in the air.

Those boxes drew in all of Hunter's roses before shutting close like the jaws of monsters.

In the next second, Hunter could feel his blood being spat out in a different room of this domain, giving him a clue to Lothar's innate skill.

To test more of it, Hunter's Blood Origin connected to the red mantle, producing more roses and sending them down like arrows at the demon.

While those stretched in the air, Hunter picked up a pace, throwing punches and kicks faster, drawing Lothar into the battle dance in which he was more experienced than ever before.

His battles and training with his precious teammates were now pushing him to win against the demon from The Demon World.

Meanwhile, the ghouls and the demon's forces were engaged in a much more terrifying battle, where claws and teeth were drawing too much blood.

Since Lothar's forces were armored and outnumbered the ghouls, it seemed that Hunter's forces were at a huge disadvantage. However, those ghouls were brought back by the Death itself, and their feelings of vengeance were fueling them to the core.

Which meant that all ghoul instincts and advantages of this peculiar race were already described within their souls.

Once a ghoul fell and died, others would devour her arms, legs, and head and even bite some of her flesh to strengthen themselves. There was no room for waste.

No room for a loss.

Which was a desire and power that the demon units lacked.

There was no one to repair their losses and fill the lost energies.

Their armors meant nothing when ghouls could grow another arm just from eating their fallen comrade, picking up a new pair of claws. More heads on their bodies meant that their vision and instincts were increased.

Thus, Death's forces were on the winning side.

Feeling them gaining the upper hand over Lothar's unit, Hunter felt more obliged to gain an advantage over the demon as well.

Which was why he decided to reveal one of his cards.

Engaged in the death battle, Hunter waited for the perfect moment to extend his range. When he noticed it, he instantly pushed his punch forward, tearing through Lothar's pattern.

And then, his gauntlet spread his fingers wide.

At the same time, blood from the blood mantle flowed into the intricate design etched on Hunter's armor, flowing from the shoulder to his arm, then filled up the entire gauntlet…

…from which a red blade stretched forward to behead the demon!

Alas, Lothar reacted quick enough, drawing a huge purple box on his palm and gobbling up Hunter's blood. Worse, he was about to devour Hunter's arm as well!

If this damn box closed, Hunter would lose his arm!

Fortunately, Hunter pulled off just in time, catching a breath while cold sweat trickled down his temple.

Lothar chuckled, "Close."

"Yeah… close," Hunter smiled.

Then, these two once again clashed, with their hands and legs striking against each other, exhausting one another's stamina, strength, and mana.

And naturally, slowly revealing more of their cards!

"Jack's Box!"

"Garden of Liberation!"
