Rebirth: Ghost Exorciser

Chapter 422 - Returning to the Old Residence

In the evening, Chi Shuyan received a call from the man. As she was going back to the old residence, she would probably be coming back late. Chi Shuyan asked Yang Lan and Zhen Yu to help her let the dorm manager know.

Yang Lan and Zhen Yu naturally agreed. However, they told her a piece of bad news. “Shuyan, it seems like a newcomer will be moving into our dormitory soon! I’m just afraid that it’ll be someone who’s hard to get along with!”

The main reason why Yang Lan and Zhen Yu were so worried was because of Tang Ningbao. They were afraid that they would encounter someone even worse than Tang Ningbao, though there probably weren’t many people worse than her.

Chi Shuyan didn’t care. Firstly, she already knew the empty spot in their dorm would have to be filled sooner or later. Secondly, forget other people; she might as well adjust her mindset and take care of herself. If it really didn’t work out, she had plenty of ways to deal with it.

That was what Chi Shuyan thought in her heart as she comforted the other two.

She realized that compared with Yang Lan, Zhen Yu’s frown was deeper and she was in a worse mood. Before Chi Shuyan left, she patted Zhen Yu on the shoulder and told her to relax, and just learn how to reject people in the future.

She felt that Zhen Yu was a kind-hearted person who would never reject others. The incident with Tang Ningbao finally made her understand some things, and had also left a shadow on her.

Chi Shuyan had nothing against nice people, but they were easily taken advantage of. It was quite necessary to learn how to reject others, but Zhen Yu could only rely on herself for this kind of thing. It was useless to rely on others.

Zhen Yu was in a low mood. “Shuyan, after Tang Ningbao quit school last time, I found out from some friends that she had been badmouthing me behind my back. She even said that I wet the bed!”

When Zhen Yu first found out about this, she had secretly cried. She was very angry and regretted how soft-hearted she had been back then.

After hearing Zhen Yu’s words, the corner of Chi Shuyan’s mouth couldn’t help but twitch. It seemed that she had really underestimated Tang Ningbao. How could she blame someone else for wetting the bed?

For a moment, Chi Shuyan didn’t know how to comfort this girl. Zhen Yu quickly said, “Shuyan, do you think the person who’ll be staying in our dorm this time will be like Tang Ningbao?”

Chi Shuyan said in a warm voice, “Don’t worry. In this society, there are still more good people than bad. Besides, there are so many people in our class, and there are very few really terrible ones. At most, it’ll just be differences in personality that you can’t get used to.”

Zhen Yu nodded. “Alright. Shuyan, don’t you have something on? Hurry and go.”

Chi Shuyan nodded. “When I’m free next time, I’ll bring you some good food again!”

When Yang Lan and Zhen Yu heard that, they immediately completely forgot about everything else as they stared greedily at Shu Yan and hurriedly accepted her words!

It had to be said that the food which Shuyan brought back was extraordinarily delicious.

They had specially tried a lot of fine food recently, but they weren’t as delicious as what Shuyan had brought back. Thinking this, the two of them couldn’t help drooling as they stared at Chi Shuyan with shining eyes.

Chi Shuyan made up her mind to ask Chef Li to cook more food for them next time.

After exiting the school gate, Chi Shuyan saw a familiar, low-key luxury car, and the man who stood next to it.

Dressed in a suit, he really didn’t fit in with the other university students. In addition, he had a strong aura and good looks. Everyone turned their heads for a second look.

Fortunately, there were very few people around; at least, there were fewer people than at noon. Taking advantage of the lack of people, she quickly walked over.

“You’re here?” Qi Zhenbai’s eyes lit up when he saw his wife.
