As she closed in on him, Lucas felt an intense pain run through his leg. It was the same one that he broke during the first match. He tried to stop her, but he couldn't. Malice easily knocked him down and attacked Lucas. She slashed at his chest, but Lucas managed to block her attack.

"That's cheating," Malice smiled. "You're going to pay for that!"

Lucas tried to stand up, but he felt dizzy. His body was heavy as he slowly stood up.

"Not yet," Malice mumbled and ran towards Lucas, swinging her sword.

Lucas tried to block her attack, but he failed. He fell backwards, and she landed on top of him, "the dying protagonist, how fun..." She chuckled.

Lucas struggled, but Malice kept pushing him down. He wasn't able to lift himself up. She was too strong for him.

"You're done," Malice sighed.

'Protagonist?' A quick thought went through Lucas's mind, 'I've never told her I was the protagonist, how would she know?'

Malice got off of Lucas and stood up. She put her hands on her hips and stared at Lucas, "You're a good fighter. You should keep training."

"Yeah, thanks, but I thought I was supposed to help you?" Lucas asked.

"I already did. Now get outta here before I change my mind." Malice said.

She walked away, leaving Lucas alone.

***

Lucas was lying on the floor, staring at the ceiling, 'who is she?' He wondered. He didn't care, really. He just wanted to train and defeat the other guys.

Lucas got up and limped over to the training grounds. He sat on the bench and started thinking once again. 'If I'm the protagonist, why did she call me a protagonist?'

He shook his head and tried to ignore the thoughts.

Lucas watched Malice as she walked past him. He couldn't understand why she called him the protagonist when she wasn't supposed to know that. He looked at his wrist and started thinking, 'the poison she had given him was a weird one.'

He remembered the feeling he had when she kissed him. There was something different about it, but he couldn't figure it out. The poison she gave him didn't last very long, maybe because it was a special type of poison.

Lucas looked up and saw a dark shadow looming above him. He looked up and saw a purple dragon flying away.

"Ooh, a new pet?" Lucas smiled, recalling the old days when he had seen Kali in her dragon form.

"Wait! Kali!" He shouted as he stood up, 'she must be back.'

The dragon stopped that was flying two seconds ago, had vanished into a thin air, 'maybe I'm just dreaming?'

"Kali!" Lucas yelled. Nothing happened.

"Aw, come on, Kali." Lucas sighed and sat back down on the bench, 'that's it, I'm going back to the dorm.' He got up and headed towards the entrance.

As before he stepped inside, he was greeted by the sound of the wind blowing against the walls and roof. Lucas looked up and saw the dark blue sky. As he looked at the clouds, he felt a chill run down his spine.

He stood there for a moment, trying to take in everything around him. He imagined that he was standing on a huge platform, surrounded by green grass. Below him was the ocean, but he couldn't see it.

"Would be a great life," he whispered and walked inside the dorms. He entered his room and lay down on his bed.

He tried to close his eyes, but he couldn't. Something was bothering him. It felt like someone was watching him, but when he tried to turn his head, he couldn't.

"Why can't I see anything?" Lucas wondered.

He tried to shake his head but he couldn't. Lucas got scared, 'what is this?'

Suddenly, Lucas heard a voice. "Can you hear me?"

He looked around, but he couldn't find the source. "Who's there?" he asked.

"I am the one who created this world. I also created you." The voice sounded familiar to him, but Lucas couldn't remember where he had heard it before.

"What do you mean?" Lucas asked.

"I created all of the heroes who will save this world from the villains."

"You're... The creator?" Lucas gasped.

"Yes, I am."

"How can I trust you?" Lucas frowned.

"I am the one who created you. I know your heart, and I know what you wish for. If you follow my instructions, you will get your wish."

"But how do I know you aren't lying?" Lucas asked.

"I think you know already. The reason why you cannot see me is that you are the protagonist. You are special, and so are those who are chosen to save this world."

Lucas nodded.

"Your name is Izek, correct?" The voice asked.

"Yes," Lucas's lips moved on their own.

"Good, because you have a mission to complete. Follow my orders and you will receive your wish. Are you ready?" The voice asked.

"Yes," Lucas said without hesitation.

"Then listen carefully..."

Lucas opened his eyes, the cold sweat dripping from his forehead. He sat up on the bed and looked around.

Inhaling and exhaling more air, he regained his strength. Lucas took a deep breath and stood up. He couldn't believe what he was hearing, but he had no choice. He needed to go back to the training grounds to prove to himself that he could beat everyone.

"Was this what Izek was seeing?" He asked himself.

"No, no. This was just a dream." Lucas smiled and stretched his arms.

He stood up and walked out of his room.

A few hours later Lucas was back in the training grounds, "Lucas, are you ready?" Luu greeted him with a smile on his face.

"Yeah!" Lucas grinned back.

"Are you sure?" Luu raised an eyebrow. "That poison you had, it almost killed you."

Lucas nodded, "it was poison, yeah. But how do you know?"

"This is a game, the poison was just a minor setback."

"Okay." Lucas nodded.

"And don't forget that you can't die here."

"I won't," Lucas replied confidently.
