Primordial Dimensions

Chapter 46 - Progress

One week had passed since Shane had adopted a new schedule and many things had changed since then. The afternoon sun shone on the shelter as he walked towards the shelter gate with blood splattered on his face.

His physique entered the 5th-Mortal stage easily, and Shane faintly sensed that he was almost at the peak of the 5th rank.

Unfortunately, he had already used up all common quality mana stones that he had stockpiled in order to utilize them for both body refining and his cultivation.

As for the uncommon fist-sized mana stones, there were still four left, because Shane had used only two for each breakthrough that he underwent in the last seven days.

This was only for him to speed up the breakthrough process in order to prevent wasting too much of his precious time as he had many more things to do.

Fortunately, everything was worthwhile as Shane entered the 5th Mortal stage in his cultivation smoothly with a mana purity of [4.31%].

As he leaned on a tree, he couldn't help but think about the time he had spent gathering and purifying mana. It had been extremely relaxing and the last seven days had been the most beautiful time Shane had experienced in his whole life on Igra.

His stock on mana stones was almost used up and there were only 4x(common) and 5(uncommon) nutrition solutions left.

While this worried him a lot, he had also hunted many beasts in the last week with Umbra's help which had increased his funds from the initial 20 gold coins to more than 30 gold coins.

Because he didn't have to avoid other beasts anymore and could store all of them in his humongous spatial ring, Shane hunted everything below high-Wild stage beasts in large groups.

Beasts at the mid-Wild stage could be sold for 1 to 3 silver with rarer ones at an even higher price.

Unfortunately, Shane couldn't find an exceptionally rare beast race but that was not important as his hunting speed with Umbra could only be considered as extremely fast.

Umbra absorbed a lot of mana when Shane cultivated and refined his physique. As such his strength increased exceptionally, while his length had reached a size of more than 65 centimeters.

Not only had Umbra reached the peak of the 3rd-Wild stage which was the limit of most shadow snakes with a [trash] or [common] quality, surprisingly, he had even unlocked his evolution section, allowing him to evolve as soon as he gathered enough mana after maturing.

Furthermore, Umbra was only 1% away from reaching a loyalty of 50%. This would accomplish Shane's upgrade mission to receive the second star on his [Common] quality innate skill.

After Shane would breakthrough in his cultivation many times, his taming skill would also enhance due to the [Cultivation-link] Shane received after accomplishing the quality enhancement of his innate skill.

He was still unable to tame a second beast, but that wasn't important as the strength limit would only increase for him to be able to control a low 7th-Wild stage beast.

Considering that Umbra would evolve in the future, it was possible that his tamed beasts would be stronger than he himself, As such, it was definitely advantageous that his Innate skill's limit cap was higher than his cultivation rank.

Being able to hunt 6th Wild stage beasts was already good for someone who had entered the Primordial dimension barely three weeks ago without receiving substantial funds from his family.

Shane had already crossed the minimum requirements to get accepted into an academy. But, he was also aware of the fact that the bare minimum was a bad joke because nobody that barely crossed the requirement would be accepted as too many stronger individuals would apply to the academies.

Humanity was becoming stronger with each day, month, and year passing, while one could only apply to the academies once a year.

Considering that, Shane thought that maybe some fortunate youths were able to enter the Apprentice or  Expert stage despite hailing from a poor family before they entered the Primordial Dimensions.

The Primordial Dimensions could change one's fate completely and it was as easy to gain a fortune overnight as dying within a second.

There were still around two weeks left before he would enter the radiant mountain-ring dimension and receive safety provided by the constructed shelter walls. Shane had to purchase more resources in order to increase his cultivation and body refining.

Purchasing 30(common) mana stones, 10(uncommon) mana stones, 6(common) nutrition solutions, and 10(uncommon) nutrition solutions in addition to a tempered mining pickaxe with a (common) quality, Shane had used his entire accumulated wealth with the exception of a small reserved amount of silver coins for food and a room to sleep.

It was evening already when a surprising notification popped up.

[[Taming|Common|] Upgrade-Mission |★★|→Increase the loyalty of one of your tamed beasts to 50%,  accomplished.  Reward: [Growth boost] has been enhanced slightly]

[ Upgrade-Mission |★★★|<Unlocked> Tame a second beast]

Shane was extremely happy to note that Umbra's loyalty had reached 50%. But, the reward was more than a little bit disappointing while the next upgrade mission soured his mood completely.

He couldn't tame a second beast right now and if Shane was honest, he would rather wait to find a beast with a rare ability, affinity, or extremely high quality, before he would even consider taming a second beast. Umbra alone was already a glutton, bleeding him out who hardly left with any funds to spend on anything else.

Umbra ate more than Shane and the expenditure to feed him was high enough without considering the costs of increasing his quality to extraordinary.

With his current funds, Shane could barely sustain Umbra's living expenses and he was more of a quality over quantity fan.

Maybe he would just tame a second beast as soon as it was possible before he would immediately dissolve the connection between them.

Shane couldn't tame a second beast right now, as such thinking about it was useless.

With his meagre funds, Shane left the market before he went to an Inn to rent a room.

Pouring hot water into the basin, he put two common quality nutrition solutions within. He then took five common quality mana stones, placing them around the basin before he stepped inside.

A single common nutrition solution wasn't too less for him to see improvements, but he felt that there was enough space within his body to absorb two common quality solutions at a time. Hence, he gave it a try with enough mana stones supplying him with mana.

With the vast amount of high-quality nutrition seeping into his body, Shane's eyes gleamed in a vigorous light as his confidence heightened.

Hours passed as he concentrated on circulating the energy and mana within his body into the correct segments. Another day elapsed as Shane reached the physique of a 6th Mortal stage.
