Primordial Dimensions

Chapter 433 - Call Of Nature

"How the hell does that make sense?"

Shane's confusion was visible, and he could only lean against Umbra's large body as he let out his frustration without holding anything back.

"So...there is a high possibility that the pentagram in front of me is the cause for the Primordial dimensions to move together...even if that doesn't make any sense to me, let's just accept this information for now...the amount of mana that is purified empowers the pentagram, and as long as it is activated, the merging process will continue.

However, because my mission says 'merged' Soul-Onyx-Jungle, destroying the pentagram won't do me any good, and it might as well turn into the cause for my mission to fail!"

The first piece of information both Viridy and Cosmo had comprehended was, in fact, what exactly the pentagram had to be.

It was way too profound and created out of materials that shouldn't exist in the basic primordial dimensions.

This was something Shane had already realised, but he couldn't have imagined even in his wildest dreams that a pentagram was the cause for the Primordial dimensions to merge or to vanish!

'Once several dimensions merged, a suction force will appear out of the pentagram, absorbing everything in its wake, before the faint spatial fluctuations lingering around the pentagram will teleport the absorbed things somewhere?

That's not only complete but for fluctuations to follow instructions without being connected to a living being...that's unheard of!'

Shane had long since assumed that the Creator had something in mind to let the Primordial dimensions and system disappear, but he was still not sure what exactly it was, let alone the reason behind the Creator's decision.

He was confident that he would become extremely strong if he had only a few more years inside the Primordial dimensions, but that was unfortunately not something he was destined to receive.

'It definitely is weird for two beings to suddenly create a perfect foundation, only for the Primordial dimensions and the system to cease to exist...that's not connected, right?'

Somehow, it would make sense to put the blame on him and Megane, but at the same time, there had been clues about the Primordial dimension's disappearance even before Shane was close to completing a perfect foundation!

Everything was confusing, and the pressure he felt not knowing how much time he was left with was unbearable.

Even his fight against Megane had given him less stress and had been more exciting than racing against time without knowing how much he had.

As such, Shane was unable to comprehend why the system's map that was supposed to lead him right to the hidden valley was coincidentally near the pentagram that caused the dimension's merging process!

In the next two days, Shane and his soulbonds traveled towards the waterfall with the high elevations, the enormous tree, and the plains in order to figure out if there was something special he had to pay attention to.

In the end, there was not much to see which should have been disappointing.

However, Shane was extremely calm as he decided to set aside his worries about the unknown amount of time he was left with.

He climbed up the enormous tree, trying to get a bird's eye view of the entire situation.

Owing to that, he saw the Soul-Onyx-Jungle that had only one barren location that was in fact, the exact spot at which the pentagram was located.

Other than that, everything was unscathed, but that shouldn't have been the case, to begin with.

Shane drew in a cold breath of air before his eyes widened as he suddenly realised something.

"Viridy said that there was dung of Overlord beasts...but I haven't heard any beasts fighting let alone seen a single beast since I arrived!

The surrounding area is also completely unscathed as if there are no beasts, to begin with."

Even if there hadn't been any beasts that fought against each other, most Overlords were too huge to evade every single tree and bush in the densely packed Soul-Onyx-Jungle.

Because of that, it was weird to see that the entire jungle seemed to be relatively unharmed which caused a stupid idea to flash in his mind.

Climbing down the enormous tree, Shane returned to the barren area with the pentagram in the center.

Yet, instead of binding the pentagram, he looked into the sky, allowing droplets of rain to fall on his mask before he returned his attention to the trees right in front of it.

Umbra was already next to him with Viridy using his roots to cling onto Shane's left shoulder while Cosmo with his soaked fur laid on his right shoulder.

"Umbra, start demolishing everything except the pentagram!"

His idea was to clear a small part of the jungle and see whether something would happen if some beast would react or get triggered which was what Shane expected.

In his opinion, there should be something even the Overlord beasts feared but he had yet to come across this existence.

However, the moment Umbra followed Shane's instructions, Viridy made weird noises, telling Shane how uncomfortable it was for his new soulbound with the plan Shane had in mind.

At the same time, it released a weird fragrance that wafted through the air, ignoring the heavy downpour as it spread out further.

Shane's knowledge about forest spirits was not that great, but it was evident that they didn't like the destruction of trees or the forest.

They were probably indirectly connected with each other, but Shane couldn't think of another way to attract the attention of the surrounding beasts, let alone the strongest existence inside the forest.

Shane was also not sure what exactly Viridy was releasing into the air as it spread through a radius of more than a hundred meters, only to sweep through the trees, where it seemed to pass on from one tree to the other.

It looked weird because the released spores, which was what Shane thought the small particles to be, had a faint green hue that began to fill the entire forest.

Because of that, Shane decided to call Umbra back, whose primal instincts had already noticed that something was going on.

Viridy's spores seemed to have awoken the jungle and everything within, causing Shane to feel astonished as he turned his head to look straight towards the small lesser forest spirit.

He could roughly gauge that it had activated one of its abilities or something it inherently knew to do, but Shane could only compare it to a state where Viridy called out for nature.

It was as if the Viridiy forcefully awoke nature, only to prevent Umbra from destroying it, which was an innate reflexive reaction of the forest spirit, but not exactly helpful for Shane, who could only perceive that the trees all around him began to release faint mana currents that filled the entire jungle.

Or, at least, it felt like that to Shane, who looked around, trying to see whether this change allowed him to find a path leading to the Hidden Paradise.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, a gigantic, dark-blue membrane similar to that of the dimension portal emerged in front of the pentagram as a ten-meter tall, golden-colored treant emerged from the portal.

"F-Fol...low!"

The treant spoke only one word, but it was more than enough for Shane to feel his skin crawl as the dense mana currents it released were intertwined with a vile aura.

Yet, at the same time, it felt oddly relaxing, before the treant turned around, ignoring Shane and his soulbonds as it returned to the portal.

Meanwhile, Shane's skin was still covered with goosebumps and he couldn't help but feel odd as the vile, yet calming mana currents were extremely weird.

But what shocked him was that he saw something hanging down on the treant's branches. Upon squinting his eyes, he realised that it looked exactly like the deamon killer fruit he was looking for!

"So...I really have to follow him?"
