Chapter 1205 - The Warning

Following the apology of [Gluttonous Blue Fish], some viewers continued to scold her and say nasty things. However, a small group of viewers had slowly started to take pity on her. They reasoned that she was probably too obsessed with numbers and fame. It was too bad that she’d finally met her match—a match that made her the victim of her own actions. Some predicted that this was the demise of a once-promising career.

The audience had lost interest in her incessant crying. The reason they were not leaving the live room was that they now had a strong interest in the person whose ID was [Watermelon].

Who was this person? How could this person be so all-knowing?

She got a good smack on her face. Pow, pow!

The focus was on the speed of the smack. She had yet to finish speaking and the hand was raised and started smacking. Was it even possible for her to continue to speak well?

Obviously, this person was well-prepared, but however well-prepared, it was just simply unbelievable that the timing could be grasped so well!

Just like with [Gluttonous Blue Fish]’s look of horror, this person seemed to be able to know her every move and even predict her next move!

To say that this person was network police was, in fact, unlikely. A network police officer would not risk losing his job by abusing his powers to help a female online anchor. Besides, it was very unlikely that he would be able to reach this level of sophistication.

“[Watermelon], what is your job?”

“Yes, you are so skilled!”

“[Watermelon], talk to us! We are waiting to see what you can do next!”

“Is [Watermelon] a man or a woman? Are you Sihwa’s friend? Can you also be my friend?”

“What lame questions! If he wasn’t Sihwa’s friend, how would he be able to help her?”

However, no matter how the audience asked, [Watermelon] did not reveal any further details about his identity. This created huge levels of gossip amongst the audience.

“In this live room, there must be other anchors,” [Watermelon] typed. “Especially those anchors who once badmouthed Sihwa’s stream—you all won’t be lucky. You will also enter my blacklist. I advise you to be aware of the consequences and confess.” [Watermelon] followed with a second warning.

[Gluttonous Blue Fish] was not the only perpetrator. Other anchors had incited fans to attack Sihwa while others personally hired ghostwriters. They had been quietly paying attention to this matter, with several of them entering the stream to join the discussion. They had expected more drama, only to realize that they were on the chopping block as well.

Seeing the unpleasant outcome for [Gluttonous Blue Fish], they were simply glad and content that they had not been targeted. Who could be blamed for [Gluttonous Blue Fish]’s downfall but herself?

They could not be bothered about the ending of [Gluttonous Blue Fish]’s career. This was because having one less competitor benefited them too, although the fact of the matter was that they were more curious than the typical audiences about the true identity of [Watermelon]. They had hoped that after her identity was revealed, this mysterious character would stop there and not pursue them as well.

The anonymity of the internet made them feel safe. They felt that they were able to go online and talk trash to destroy other anchors, but what [Watermelon] had done made them feel highly exposed!

They were deeply regretting their actions. They knew they had chosen the wrong target and were content to simply survive the current saga. They knew they would no longer dare to incite controversy about Sihwa in the future. On the contrary, they would try their best to have a good relationship with Sihwa. Being able to get to know this mysterious character would be very helpful to them. At the very least, he would not be an enemy to them, for that would be really scary!

Seeing the warnings from [Watermelon], they, situated in various parts of China, could not help but feel a sense of deep dread.

[Watermelon] did not let them go. He did not intend to let them go.

If they would be dealt with in a similar fashion as [Gluttonous Blue Fish]… How were they going to counter?

How could they be sure that he would not use dirty tactics to deal with them? After all, he’d easily dealt with an insidious anchor. Way too easily. Within the anchor community, how many of them were really upright and not corrupt?

When would [Watermelon] deal with them? To what extent was he aware of their private affairs? Should they delete all of their chat history?

These questions echoed in their minds, making them shudder. It was as if they were waiting for a death sentence but did not know when it was coming.

The general audience, on the other hand, were loving every second of the drama. They were not affected by the chaos that was developing—rather, they were finding it simply enjoyable. It was like witnessing history. They wanted [Watermelon] to publish the names on the blacklist immediately.

When Sihwa had accused [Gluttonous X Fish], they had not really believed her words. However, now, as long as [Watermelon] named someone, even if no evidence was provided, they would likely believe him.

“[Watermelon], who else? Just say it in one breath!”

“Stop teasing us!”

“Come on! I’m dying to know!”

Alas, [Watermelon] simply left the live broadcast room after giving out two warnings. His mysterious style grew on the audience, who were increasingly impressed.

Since [Watermelon] had left, there was no need for the live broadcast room. It was also not interesting to see a woman crying by herself. Who knew what others would think if they heard her? They might have thought that a funeral was being played on the stream. That would be highly unlucky!

A large number of viewers left the live broadcast.

Not all left. In fact, a dozen or so of spectators stayed on. The reasons for their not leaving were complicated. Some of them had temporarily left their screen and did not know that the matter was over. Some people had obsessive-compulsive disorder and needed to see if [Gluttonous Blue Fish] would continue to struggle.

As for the rest… Some served up words of encouragement, and some gave gifts while others encouraged her to change channels and return once more. They claimed that they would follow her to the new channel and continue to support her.

These words were impassioned and touching, but how many of them were really intended to encourage her? How many were opportunistic and using her current vulnerability to occupy an important position in her heart? It was highly unclear…

[Gluttonous Blue Fish] had been utterly destroyed. Because of this saga, her reputation had been severely tarnished, and most of her fans had abandoned her.

She considered changing platforms, but she had already signed a contract with this platform. She would face a huge fine of liquidated damages, and she would not be able to settle it even if she sold herself. Many anchors who’d quit in the past had not been able to recover from their jumps either.

She told herself that she could not quit. She would press on with this platform and wait until the current saga blew over. Alternatively, she would stop broadcasting indefinitely and return to real life to find a job.

No matter the choice, she regretted it. How she wished she could go back to herself a few days ago and beat herself until she woke up from her nonsense.
