Chapter 1047 - A Tough Battle

Following Big Orange’s signal, the strays started their long-awaited attack.

Each stray had its own role to play. Some of them were the main attackers, and some of them were the lookouts, staying in their spots at the doors and windows and keeping a watch on the humans’ actions, preventing them from coming over to the scene of the fight as much as they could. Some of them were on the fence, as they were the support members.

Swish!

Nearly twenty cats dropped silently into the yard.

The yards of countryside houses were bigger and were illuminated by just one lamp underneath the overhang. There was a lot of trash in the yard, and this greatly affected the Rottweiler’s field of view.

But the dim lighting had no effect on the strays. They surrounded the Rottweiler and carefully approached it.

The Rottweiler had never seen strays that moved in this manner, but it didn’t care. The smell of cats had already triggered its bloodlust, and all it wanted to do was rush up and rip all these strays into ribbons.

It growled loudly and pounced toward the fattest orange cat, just like a fast moving tank.

Big Orange was considered big for a stray, but it was still a far cry from the muscled body of a vicious hound. Faced with the hound’s sudden attack, the stray kept a tight rein on the fear in its heart. It didn’t run, nor did it hide, estimating the distance between the hound and itself.

Clink!

Just as the Rottweiler was about to reach Big Orange, the thick metal wrapped around the Rottweiler’s neck extended to its maximum reach, the tension holding the chain ramrod straight in mid-air, choking the Rottweiler badly. Its legs were still running forward, but its head and neck were restricted by the leash, its front paws just inches away from Big Orange’s body.

Big Orange let out a huge sigh of relief that the information he’d been given was accurate.

The other strays’ morale shot up at the sight.

This dog was vicious, and they might have gotten their necks snapped in a second if they were facing it alone. But with the strength of numbers on their side, the hound was the one at the losing end here.

Especially with the metal chain acting as its leash, its range of motion had become restricted to a small area. Even if the strays were not in good shape, they would at least be able to save their own lives by retreating out of the dog’s range.

The Rottweiler had finally caught its breath, barking wildly to the point of hoarseness. It wanted to call its owner over to take it off its leash, but the owner was having dinner with their family, watching television at the same time, and none of them bothered giving it any attention. They didn’t think that the leashed dog in their yard could create or get into any trouble either. All they did was shout from a distance, “Stop yapping!”

The Rottweiler panicked, wanting to do more but lacking the ability to. It turned around, trying to bite through its own metal chain with its strong jaw power. Teeth marks started showing up on the chains, but they weren’t that easy to break.

Just then, Big Orange rushed forward, reaching out its front paw and slapping the Rottweiler’s head with lightning speed. The Rottweiler was dumbfounded, dropping the metal leash in its mouth. It wasn’t the strength of the slap, but instead the shock from being so humiliated.

Before it could get its bearings back, Big Orange quickly retreated out of the dog’s range of attack.

The Rottweiler was completely enraged now. It tried to attack Big Orange again, but it was once more restricted by the metal chain on its neck. With experience under its fur, Big Orange quickly slapped the dog once the metal chain had reached its limits. It even extended its sharp claws, scratching off a whole chunk of fur and nearly breaking its skin.

The other strays stopped spectating, instead launching a great attack on the Rottweiler from the sides while Big Orange drew the Rottweiler’s attention.

The Rottweiler was surrounded by cats. One of them was especially brave and jumped onto its back. No matter where it turned, it could see pairs of haunting cat eyes.

It panicked. What was going on?

With the anger clouding its brain earlier, it hadn’t treated these strays seriously, due to its impressive win rate against them. But now it had no choice but to look at the strays in a different light. The pain radiating from all over its body forced it to.

The anger vanished, and quickly expanding fear took its place.

The Rottweiler was of a stocky build and had immense attacking power. If it were just one or two cats, they wouldn’t have been able to harm it much at all. But the sheer number of cats right now was just too much for it to fight against, and their methods were despicable too—those behind him especially, attacking its more…sensitive areas.

Other than the prized and highly secretive move called “Iron Crotch,” devised by Bodhidharma and highly revered and protected by the Shaolin Monastery, no other martial arts would be able to protect one’s most sensitive and vulnerable parts. Even if you had made your entire body as tough as steel, your crotch would still be your Achilles’ heel.

It was said that when wolves attacked buffalos or similar big animals, the thick and impenetrable nature of the buffalo’s skin caused the wolves not to be able to make any substantial damage to it. But some cunning wolves would go behind the buffalo, and dig out its intestines through its anus. The moment its intestines prolapsed, the buffalo would no longer be as strong as before, and it could only wait for its moment of demise to come.

With its sensitive areas under a huge threat, the Rottweiler was truly afraid too. It didn’t want to die a horrible death via prolapsed intestines, and neither did it want to spend the rest of its life infertile. All it could do now was to go on the defensive, tightly pressing its hind legs together to protect its anus and shaking its body as much as it could to get that cat off its back.

It was over fifty kilograms in weight, and every single movement it made had a lot of power behind it. Even though the cat on its back tried its best to stay on by using its claws to dig into the skin, it could only accept its fate as it was shrugged off, hitting the wall with a great thud and rolling onto the floor with a pained meow.

The Rottweiler’s relief only lasted seconds, as another cat pounced onto its back, continuing its biting and scratching of its neck and head…

The cat that had been shrugged off didn’t get back up after landing harshly on the floor. It had scratches all over its body and head, and bruises had started to show up beneath the skin too.

It just laid there on the ground, its consciousness starting to blur.

Just then, a black cat with a chip in its ear showed up in its sights, and its nose picked up on an extremely enticing smell, so amazing that the pain on its body seemed to subside…

The black cat and two other neutered cats came to its side, one of them holding a cloth pouch in its mouth—that’s where the mouth-watering scent had come from!

The cat’s mouth released its hold, and the cloth pouch dropped to the ground.

The black cat used its paws to open the pouch’s mouth, and the scent rushed out, finally uncaged and free.

Here, for you. It is what you deserve.

The black cat took out two pieces of small dried fish from it, placing it by the injured cat’s mouth.

The other two with the black cat could only watch, swallowing their saliva constantly.

This bag of dried fish was donated by the strays themselves. They couldn’t bear to eat it, and left it for the brave soldiers on the war zone.

The injured cat found its eyes flooding with tears.
