Mu Siyin scoffed. “You? Favor Me? The audacity! You have never cared about me ever since I was a child. I would’ve been dead if it wasn’t for my wits! I wished you were never my father!”

Mu Heyuan’s hands trembled in anger.

“How dare you!”

Mu Siyin laughed. “You’re just pissed because you’re ashamed of yourself. You can be angry all you want, but don’t you dare take away what my mother and sister left for me. You have no right to take what belongs to me!”

“Just say it if you don’t want me to save the company. Stop playing all these tricks on me because it disgusts me!”

As soon as her words trailed off, she slammed the agreement on the table with a loud ‘smack’ before she turned away coldly.

Mu Heyuan was so pissed that his eyes were red. At first glance, he looked like he was trying hard to suppress his anger. However, if one looked beyond that, they would have seen the intention to kill in his eyes.

The sight of him sent shivers down Li Tongzhi and Mu Xingyu’s spines. They had never seen Mu Heyuan so angry before.

Upon realizing that something was amiss with her son, Old Madam Mu held her frustration back and muttered, “Don’t be too angry, Heyuan. Yinyin is still young. Although she has been rude to us, we need her to save the company. You have to think of the big picture!”

Mu Heyuan raised his fists in frustration and mumbled, “Ha! She thinks that the company will collapse without her. She’s so full of herself!”

Old Madam Mu sighed softly. “Precisely. Just let her be. We can always do something about it after this storm has passed.”

Mu Heyuan gritted his teeth and snorted before he strode away to his study.

After making sure that Mu Heyuan had left, Li Tongzhi whispered, “Did you see how rude Mu Siyin was? How could the Mu family shelter someone so uncivilized like her?”

Mu Xingyu chimed in, “It’s because she didn’t have a mother to teach her manners.”

“Enough!” The Old Madam’s face scrunched up in annoyance.

The both of them immediately shut their mouths, to which Li Tongzhi quickly smiled and said, “Let’s continue eating, mom.”

Old Madam Mu grunted softly. “You can eat by yourselves.”

She then strode away.

Mu Siyin slammed the door as soon as she got back to her room. Her eyes were already red from anger.

If her memory served her right, Mu Heyuan used to be different. He used to adore her a lot and cared about her wellbeing. Why did everything change after her mother and sister passed away?

Why?

She furrowed her brows in frustration and raised her hands, clenching them hard before she hammered her head. Why could she not recall any memories before she was eight?

She felt so helpless at the moment. So hopeless that her heart went cold.

Although she always knew that they were mean to her, she realized that she could no longer call this place her home. Not after what had happened today.

They were a pack of wolves who wanted to devour every piece of her in the dark. They were hungry for her money and would do whatever it took to sucked her dry. Even if it took her life.
