Chapter 16 – An Oath He Swore to His Self (1)

The dark, striking colour of blood against Mo Linyuan’s porcelain skin made Ye Mu stare. “What happened?” She asked crossly.

When the servant girl saw that Ye Mu had come out herself, her face immediately lost its color, but she quickly recovered and smiled arrogantly. Trying to take credit for this gruesome work, she said, “Young lady, where you troubled by the noise from these insignificant runts? Don’t worry, this servant is here to supervise them well… I won’t let them be lazy for even one second! ”

Ye Mu looked at Mo Linyuan’s bleeding wound, and then back to her maidservant. For quite a while, she was speechless and dumbfounded.

The abuser even had a good time! Ahh! Sister, your whole family will live in the crematorium!

Stop laughing—do you know that you will die miserably in the future under the hands of the person you whipped?!

Keeping these thoughts to herself, Ye Mu donned her cold exterior and asked icily, “Who gave you permission to punish my people?”

Hearing this, the maidservant felt dread and hurriedly knelt down, begging for mercy. She couldn’t understand what was going on. Previously, the Young lady never cared about these things. Didn’t she always liked to see blood? Why was she acting like this now…?

The other servants in vicinity who were nosing around also tried to sneak a peek at the current fiasco. They wanted to see if the Young lady really had a miraculous change in personality.

Ye Mu looked around, her cold face deepening a notch, “Everyone listen up! These two are my carefully raised minions. They are my own things! Anyone who dares touch them other than me, this Young lady will promise you a cruel death! Do you understand?!”

After she had declared this, everyone then understood that the Young had never changed, but rather only had a new hobby of keeping people as pets in the meantime; she hasn’t really become better from before.

When the maidservant kneeling on the ground heard these words, she almost had a mini heart attack. She thought of Ye Mu’s brutal methods of torturing people and then she thought of how she had just moved her hand against her pets.

She quickly tried to plead for mercy, “Please…please spare this servant’s life! This servant will never dare to do it again! Never, ever! ”

Ye Mu hummed conceitedly, scrunching her small nose in derision. “Today this Young lady is in a good mood, therefore I’ll let you off just this time. If this happens a second time, I’ll throw your body to the tiger’s pit and have it devour you alive!”

“This servant understands! The Young lady is benevolent! Thank you, Young lady!” She gratefully did a small kowtow, missing Ye Mu’s frown directed at her.

“Yes, yes… Your face upsets me greatly. Quickly get out of my sight!”

She ordered in a wicked voice that made the servant quickly scutter away in haste, for fear that Ye Mu would change her mind and take back her words.

When she ran away, all the eavesdropping servants also scattered like ants. Seeing the surrounding was now clean of bystanders, Ye Mu was finally able to observe Mo Linyuan once again…

This person is really a magnet for accidents. Even when he hasn’t gone out to the world yet, he is already suffering misfortunes!

“All right…let’s call it a day. Both of you go back—also let Xiaolang to treat your wound with the ointment. You may depart now.”

But Mo Linyuan’s attention was somewhere else; his dark eyes were staring at her feet. No one was able to notice this, but Ye Mu had ran out barefoot. The palm-sized, jade white feet were hidden under her long skirt—it would be difficult for others to see, unless they were almost parallel to the ground.

Did Ye Mu felt urgency when she heard them in distress?

She ran out without even remembering to wear her shoes. Does she really have no ulterior motive?

When Mo Linyuan saw that Ye Mu was about to leave, he suddenly opened his mouth, making her stop in her tracks. “An hour hasn’t passed yet for today.”

He was referring to the amount of time they were supposed to do for a Horse Stance. Ye Mu looked back at him, tilting her head confusedly.

“You are wounded…can you still continue?”

“Yes.”

He stood up straight, then proceeded to half squat taking a zama step, glistening sweat gliding across his pale forehead. He had already undergone almost several days of training, that’s why he was more determined and didn’t want to be easily swayed by the pain. His eyes were sharper, and most importantly, his pride didn’t allow him to retreat and let Ye Mu think he was useless.

Xiaolang saw that Mo Linyuan insisted to continue training and had to begrudgingly follow suit. All he wanted was to have a rest! He really can’t slack off with Mo Linyuan around…

Watching them be resolute about her given training, the corners of Ye Mu’s mouth inadvertently lifted, ultimately breaking to a smile.

“Good! You’re both doing very well. Starting tomorrow, it’ll be two hours a day!”

“Agh! Young lady no!” Ye Xiaolang mournfully cried out when he heard this. Meanwhile Mo Linyuan nodded and only said a word in return.

“Yes.”

Ye Mu finally laughed. Seeing how hard they were working, her heart felt less restless. When the warm, morning sunshine fell on her face, she especially felt more rejuvenated.

In order to reward them for their hard work, Ye Mu added a new sequence to their regimen, slowly packing their schedule for the whole day. Ye Xiaolang grumbled endlessly but was still earnest about learning. All thanks to Aji who said that learning these things will make them better in the future.
