Chapter 100 – Children Are Shameless (1)

Although she did not mind accompanying him—after all, she was still six years old, but she was only afraid that he would feel awkward with the presence of another person.

Yet, unexpectedly, Mo Linyuan acted as if he had never heard these words before, and said after a moment of silence, “But…aren’t you still six years old?”

How cheeky! But…that makes sense, she thought.

Without waiting for Ye Mu’s rebuttal, Mo Linyuan interrupted in a low voice, “Can’t you just stay and talk to me?”

Under the candlelight, he looked at Ye Mu with clear eyes, carrying a trace of eager anticipation. The young man in front of her was truly innocent and peaceful, without a speck of anxiousness. “Ye Mu…what are you daydreaming about?”

Ye Mu laughed dryly, “Ha ha! Of course! It’s just talking! It’s no big deal! I’ll stay here today, but I’ll go wash up first!”

It looked like Mo Linyuan was starting to have his own thoughts as well. Indeed, a kid this age was about to reach puberty, so it was quite normal for him to have hold back some words he wanted to say.

Mo Linyuan gazed at her back, his eyes squinting as he gently smiled.

In the evening, there was an extra person lying on his bed. Ye Mu really wasn’t used to lying on someone else’s bed and after a while, she couldn’t stand the awkward silence and rummaged her brain for something to say.

“So…your birthday happened to be on a snowy day… ” she murmured unsurely, testing the words.

The snow outside the window should have been silent, but because of the heavy downpour, it made a rustling sounds as the branches shook against the wind; there was something in the noise that made the people inside feel exceptionally peaceful—homey even.

Mo Linyuan turned his body to look at her and casually said, “Yes, they said that on the night I was born, a heavy snowfall like this had also occurred.”

The mood in the warm room was light, and Ye Mu also turned to look at Mo Linyuan to say with a smile, “This means that today’s birthday and the day when you were born must be very important. That’s why the heavens are here!”

When Mo Linyuan heard this, he smiled and stretched out his hand. His fingertips curled up her hair a bit, and his voice became especially graceful and gentle.

“Yes, indeed. This birthday…is really very important to me.”

Because this was the first birthday that he had met her.

Ye Mu looked at his beautiful side profile and suddenly asked while her unconsciously held to her chest, over her heart, “Right…”

“Do you have any other brothers and sisters? You’re so good-looking; I bet if you had a sister, it would definitely be a beauty capable of toppling empires in the future!” she added.

Ye Mu’s words caused Mo Linyuan’s smile to freeze for a moment before he said in a deep voice, “I originally had a younger sister.”

Hearing his tone, Ye Mu thought that his sister was already dead and hurriedly changed the topic. “It doesn’t matter, you still have me!”

Ye Mu thought to herself, Mo Linyuan has always been fretful, taking care of me. Could he have treated me as his little sister?

Ye Mu’s words made Mo Linyuan’s eyes light up once again. He leaned over and gently hugged Ye Mu, then his pleasant and low voice resounded above her head. “Yes, I still have you.”

Ye Mu rarely got so close to anyone. So, when a faint, different kind of scent came from the youth’s body, it caused her to involuntarily suck in a deep breath and widen her eyes.

But only after a moment that she got her bearing and declared, “That’s right! You have me so you don’t have to be afraid, I’ll protect you in the future!”

Ye Mu seriously said that she would work hard to cultivate. Once she recovered her previous skills and master internal martial arts, there would only be a few opponents in this world that could go against her!

Furthermore, she was here to protect the someone so important in this world—the future emperor!
