Qin Lan watched in horror as a whole set of instruments were wheeled in. She was pressed onto the chair and all kinds of probes on the instruments were placed on her head. Both her wrists and fingers had additional probes attached to them, all linking to a computer.

"Ah Xiao, the results of the lie detector are not evidence at all. Qin Lan is about to die and she still wants to drag the Ye family down with her," Ye Cheng said angrily as he smoked with Lu Beixiao outside.

"So what if it is not evidence? Do you think that thing's accuracy is really that high? Just bluff, understand?" Lu Beixiao was also smoking.

Bluff?

Ye Cheng understood and said, "You're really something."

...

Ye Zhenzhen's situation was similar with Qin Lan's. She was locked in a room with silver steel walls.

"Captain Lu, she hasn't said anything. Ah Wei hasn't said a word either. He even tried to bite his tongue off but we stopped him in time," a plain clothed man stood up reported to Lu Beixiao when he saw him coming over.

Lu Beixiao held Ye Zhenzhen's criminal record in his hand. He glanced at it indifferently and raised his left wrist to look at the time.

His lips curled into a vicious smile. He pulled over a chair and sat down.

"I won't say anything. I won't say anything," Ye Zhenzhen kept brainwashing herself. Both her hands and feet were handcuffed. "Don't think that I'll give up my father's base. Don't think about it."

Lu Beixiao leaned back on the chair and tapped his legs. Occasionally, he raised his wrist and looked at the time as if he was waiting for something.

He looked at his watch one last time and raised his head up at Ye Zhenzhen, who was inside the tempered glass. She clearly became uneasy and gradually became frantic.

"Captain Lu! Is she addicted?"

The corners of Lu Beixiao's mouth rose. He snorted. This Ye Zhenzhen really deserved it. She tried to give Ye Qiao the drug but in the end, she had to pay the price.

Ye Zhenzhen held her head with both hands. She felt as if there were billions of mosquitoes flapping their wings in her brain. They buzzed non-stop and gradually escalating into a loud rumbling sound in her head. She felt as if something in her body was trying to squeeze out from her blood vessels. Her skin was cold and she was shivering.

As it got worse, she knelt on the ground and hit her head with both hands. In a short while, she started rolling on the ground.

This was her first time acting up. She herself did not understand what was going on. The scene before her eyes was distorted and the sounds she heard were blurry.

"Ye Zhenzhen, you're acting up. We have medicine here. Do you want it?" a cold voice that sounded like it came from hell rang out.

"Think! Think!" she said to herself repeatedly. Then she saw someone offering a cigarette to her in a distorted sight. When it reached her mouth, she instinctively sucked on it. She took a deep breath through the filter. In an instant, that uncomfortable feeling disappeared. It was an ethereal feeling like stepping into a fairyland.

However, the unbearable pain began to take over her body again after a short moment.

"Give it to me. I beg you," Ye Zhenzhen knelt on the ground and kept kowtowing, pleading for a cigarette.

"Then are you willing to cooperate?" the ice cold voice sounded again.

Ye Zhenzhen could not withstand the urge and was even willing to die to satisfy it. She couldn't help but nod.
