"Help me open it!"

She passed her bottle to him. "I am not being difficult on purpose. I just like beer bottles, but I don't know how to open one without a bottle opener," she explained.

Even if it were just a normal bottle, she would still have asked for his help. She had been too harsh on him in the past and never showed him the gentleness that a loving wife would show to her husband.

Despite not treating him the way a good wife should, the man still loved her, regardless.

She never understood why he loved her. Perhaps the man was a masochist who drew pleasure from unrequited passionate love.

Swiftly, he took the bottle and opened the lid with ease.

Refusing to use a straw, Ye Qiao drank directly from the bottle. The refreshing scent of orange soda was the best source of relief in this unrelenting midsummer heat.

He asked with all seriousness, though it did sound a little flirty.

"Not at all," she excitedly replied.

He was caught slightly off guard but was pleased by her response. "I didn't know that you flirt. Is this how you usually talk to your boyfriend?"

"No. What I meant is that I don't mind touching your saliva." She stood in front of him with her face so beautiful and her eyes so enticing that it almost like she was peering into the depth of his soul.

"Have you fallen in love with me?" Nonchalantly, he bent down slightly so that their eyes were on the same level.
