Lin Nuan didn’t deny it.

Fu Huai’an gazed at Lin Nuan’s fair and luminous face. He was enamored with her as he caressed her slender wrist with his calloused thumb.

His breathing intensified, and her feminine scent seemed to overwhelm his senses. The atmosphere in the car gradually turned amorous…

It was rather cloudy and dark in the rainy city of Haicheng. The light that came through the window filters defined Fu Huai’an’s facial profile and his pursed lips that were turned up at the corners.

Knowing that Fu Huai’an was observing her reaction, Lin Nuan blushed coyly, and her breathing quickened.

Through the corner of her eye, she saw his prominent profile draw near. Lin Nuan’s heart was racing as she sat there obediently and didn’t dodge when his lips closed in on hers. He pried her lips open, and his tongue became entangled with her soft tongue.

As their tongues intertwined passionately, she felt as if he had sucked the air out of her lungs.

She was captivated by his sophisticated and manly scent, and her slender hands reached out spontaneously to clasp around his neck.

She was clutching the collar of Fu Huai’an’s shirt in her palms as they kissed. It was a bold move, but she felt shy at the same time. Her eyelids quivered as she heard the loud thumping of her heartbeat, and she felt herself go weak at the knees.

A car drove over a manhole cover, and the loud thump gave Lin Nuan a shock. She loosened her grip on Fu Huai’an immediately and laid back against the passenger seat, staring straight ahead. She was afraid that someone might have spotted them.

Fu Huai’an gazed intensely at Lin Nuan, who was flushed with embarrassment. His breathing was hot and heavy.

Lin Nuan wanted to act as though nothing had happened, but her heaving chest betrayed her.

The sensual atmosphere lingered on in the cramped space.

“Let’s… make our way back!” Lin Nuan said as she tried to reach out to unfasten her seat belt in a bid to hide her embarrassment. It was then that she realized that she had already done so.

She looked up awkwardly and saw Fu Huai’an gazing at her with a knowing smile. She turned away, too embarrassed to look him in the eye.

Lin Nuan’s face was still burning hot when they entered the house.

She saw that there were two white insulated six-tiered lunch boxes on the dining table and turned towards Fu Huai’an, who was placing the grocery bags on the kitchen counter.

“These lunch boxes are…?”

“This is the takeout lunch from Wang Yue Restaurant. It’s too late to prepare lunch now. You are still on your period and shouldn’t be starving. If you really want to cook, you can make your own dinner later.”

Fu Huai’an said gently but in a firm and dominant tone.

Lin Nuan recalled the conversation she had with Liang Mulan and said, “My father has returned home. While you were resting just now, Mother Lin called to ask me to go to the Lin House for dinner tonight.”

Fu Huai’an removed his blazer and placed it casually on the dining table. “Yes, you should, I’ll send you there.”

Lin Nuan pondered over how to stop Fu Huai’an from sending her as she wanted him to rest, but she didn’t utter the words eventually. He had already set the table for lunch when she returned from washing her hands.

As Lin Nuan carried the two cups of da hong pao tea she had made and pulled the chair out to sit on Fu Huai’an’s right, she heard him asking, “I believe your current lease for this place is ending soon?”

She had just put a piece of vegetable into her mouth. Lin Nuan raised her eyes to look at Fu Huai’an as she chewed on the tip of her chopstick and nodded.

“Why don’t you move to the condominium,” Fu Huai’an said

Lin Nuan lowered her gaze and remained silent, picking the rice with her chopsticks.

“Share with me any concerns that you have,” Fu Huai’an said in a casual tone as his dark eyes gazed at her features intently.
