“En.” Lin Nuan did not dare to raise her red face so she spoke with a lowered head. “I’m leaving now…”

“Miss Lin, it’s already late and the driver has already gone home. How are you going to get back?”

Fu Huai’an walked down calmly and nodded as a reply, his features icy cold.

When Lin Nuan exited Fu Huai’an’s villa, Tang Zheng and Lu Jinnan had yet to leave. The two stood in the yard and Tang Zheng had just lit his cigarette, passing the lighter to Lu Jinnan.

Upon seeing that the two were standing in the yard, Lin Nuan paused. Who could have guessed that Tang Zheng would still be here?

Lin Nuan had a look of guilt as though she was caught pilfering, and her face turned even redder. She lowered her head in embarrassment and walked out without a word.

Seeing Lin Nuan come out, Tang Zheng’s eyes widened and removed the cigarette between his lips, saying in a shocked tone, “So fast?”

Tang Zheng didn’t speak out loud, but the meaning behind his words made Lin Nuan’s face heat up.

“It shouldn’t be… How can Old Fu be so weak?”

Tang Zheng spoke without a care right in front of Lin Nuan, making her feel even more awkward.

Even though the night wind was cold, Lin Nuan’s whole body felt like it was on fire.

At first, Tang Zheng thought that the two had finished up quickly, but he realized that something was wrong. Lin Nuan was not thick-skinned and had a lot of self-respect and self-love. It was likely that when he barged in, she refused to continue. This woman was planning to ditch Old Fu and escape!

“Hey… Lin Nuan! Where are you going?”

Tang Zheng shouted loudly, alarming the large poodle in the neighboring villa.

It was dark at night and silent, but the dog shot out of its kennel and started barking at their side.

Lin Nuan bit down harshly on her lip and was unable to raise her head from the embarrassment, desperate to escape that place.

Thinking that he had caused huge trouble, Tang Zheng quickly ran to the gates and held out his arms, acting as a physical barrier to Lin Nuan.

“Don’t leave! I really didn’t see anything, really! I’ll get out immediately now with Lu Jinnan. If you leave, Old Fu will chop my leg off, I can’t defeat him!”

Lin Nuan did not care about Tang Zheng’s leg; she only wanted to leave.

When she went left, so would Tang Zheng, and when she went right, so would he, stubbornly blocking Lin Nuan from leaving.

“Miss Lin, Sister Lin… Mistress Lin, can you please spare my life?”

Tang Zheng begged as he stepped back and continued to block her from leaving.

When they reached the yard gate, Tang Zheng went all out and clung onto the bars with both hands, saying, “If I can’t make you stay, I’ll have to leave my life here. I’m forced to do this…”

As he spoke, Fu Huai’an walked out.

“Old Fu!” Lu Jinnan moved the unlit cigarette from his lips to call out.

Hearing that Fu Huai’an had already come out, Lin Nuan grew frustrated and couldn’t care less that Tang Zheng was their sponsor. She angrily reached out to push at Tang Zheng’s chest, shouting, “Get out of the way!”

Tang Zheng’s attention was on Fu Huai’an, so he ended up being pushed away by Lin Nuan.

She hurriedly tried to escape and her toe kicked against the gate. She would’ve fallen down if it wasn’t for Tang Zheng who quickly held her up, asking, “Are you alright?”

“Thank you.” Lin Nuan’s face was extremely red as she quickly thanked him before withdrawing her arm to run away.
