Mr Fu, I Really Love You

Chapter 1287 - A Giant Baby?

“Alright, alright. I’ll call you to comfort you, but you’re just showing off your relationship to me by saying how wonderful your husband is. I’m not talking to you anymore. I’m hanging up after coaxing the child!”

After getting off the phone, Bai Xiaonian’s mood improved. A smile appeared on her face. She put down her phone and finally fell asleep.

When Lu Jinnan arrived at the police station, he saw that Cai Jingyao was accompanied by her two female friends. She was sitting on the steps of the police station, wiping her tears. The white gauze on her arm was very obvious.

Seeing Lu Jinnan get out of the car, Cai Jingyao quickly stood up. “Brother Jinnan…”

Lu Jinnan closed the car door and glanced at Cai Jingyao.

The two girls behind Cai Jingyao suppressed their excitement as they looked at Lu Jinnan.

“That’s Lu Jinnan! He’s so handsome! He’s clearly Lu Jinbei’s biological brother, but one of them is full of masculinity, while the other looks like a little boy!”

“Yes, yes!”

The two ladies discussed in hushed voices.

Cai Jingyao walked down the stairs and raised a hand to tuck her hair, which had been messed up by the wind. Her white dress was stained with blood.

“Brother Jinnan, today’s class gathering…”

Before Cai Jingyao could finish, Lu Jinnan had already walked up the stairs, completely treating Cai Jingyao as air.

Cai Jingyao wasn’t discouraged. She followed Lu Jinnan and continued to nag at him, not caring if he said anything. “A few male classmates drank too much and guessed that you’re Xiao Bei’s older brother. So, when we talked about Brother, Xiao Bei and Bai Xiaonian’s love triangle, Xiao Bei couldn’t take it anymore and hit someone!”

The moment Lu Jinnan entered, the Deputy Commissioner who had been waiting came over to welcome him. “Mr. Lu is here…”

“Sorry to trouble you!” Lu Jinnan said to the Deputy Commissioner.

The Deputy Commissioner glanced at Cai Jingyao, who was crying beside Lu Jinnan. He gestured for Lu Jinnan to come over and asked in a lowered voice, “Is this girl Cai Jingyao? The celebrity from overseas?”

Giving the Deputy Commissioner some face, Lu Jinnan nodded.

“Is she Mr. Lu’s friend or your younger brother’s friend?” the Deputy Commissioner asked.

“I don’t know her.” Lu Jinnan cut off all ties with Cai Jingyao.

The Deputy Commissioner nodded thoughtfully. He turned around and glanced at Cai Jingyao, guessing that she must have a close relationship with Lu Jinbei.

Lu Jinbei and the others were locked up separately. Ever since the fight ended, the few of them had sobered up quite a bit. They sat in the police station with their faces covered in dirt.

Lu Jinbei hadn’t had much to drink that night to begin with, so he didn’t regret fighting. But when he thought about how Lu Jinnan would be able to get the news if something were to happen to him, his chest heaved up and down.

The door to Lu Jinbei’s room suddenly opened. Lu Jinbei turned his head and saw the frowning Lu Jinnan standing at the door with both hands in his pockets. He felt even more awkward, so he stiffened his neck and turned to look away.

“Xiao Bei… are you okay?” Cai Jingyao stood at the door, staring at Lu Jinbei with teary eyes.

The smart-looking Deputy Commissioner sensed that something wasn’t right. After he opened the door, he smiled and said to Lu Jinnan, “Alright, alright. It’s normal for a child to get into a fight! Go back and don’t lecture the child!”

“A twenty-seven-year-old is a child? A giant baby?” Lu Jinnan stared at Lu Jinbei, his voice cold.

Lu Jinbei’s face was stained, and his fists were clenched so tightly that they were cracking.

“I didn’t ask you to come and rescue me! If you can’t stand me being a baby, leave!” Lu Jinbei gritted his teeth.

“You clearly know that once you enter, someone familiar will naturally call me. You really don’t want me to scoop you up. Why didn’t you tell the police not to contact me?” Lu Jinnan calmly exposed Lu Jinbei.

Lu Jinbei flew into a rage out of humiliation and stood up. He walked to the door and closed it, looking straight at Lu Jinnan. “Are you satisfied now? If you don’t want to care about me, don’t bother about me. I don’t want you to care about me either! Let’s go!”

“Lu Jinbei, how old are you? Are you going to throw a tantrum like a petulant child? This is the police station. Do you think it’s your home? You can leave if you want to, and you can stay if you want to.” Lu Jinnan restrained the anger in his heart. He was so calm that it drove Lu Jinbei crazy.

Compared to Lu Jinnan’s deep and calm gaze, Lu Jinbei looked like a furious child. This was something Lu Jinbei couldn’t accept!

Because of Bai Xiaonian, Lu Jinbei didn’t want to admit that he was worse than Lu Jinnan!

However, this comparison made Lu Jinbei appear more immature.

“Xiao Bei, stop fooling around!” Cai Jingyao quickly pushed open the door and went in to hold Lu Jinbei’s hand. “It’s already so late, yet Brother Jinnan still came to the police station to pick you up. He even left Bai Xiaonian alone at home. Let’s hurry back, so Brother Jinnan can go back to accompany Bai Xiaonian! Okay? Stop fooling around!”

At the mention of Bai Xiaonian, Lu Jinbei’s throat rolled. In the end, he did as Cai Jingyao said and let himself be dragged out by her.

Lu Jinnan took a deep look at Lu Jinbei before saying to the Deputy Commissioner, “Thank you. I’ll treat you to a meal another day!”

He patted the Deputy Commissioner’s arm.

The Deputy Commissioner nodded. “Okay! Let’s meet again another day!”

He then glanced at Lu Jinbei again. Wanting to mediate between the two brothers, he said to Lu Jinnan, “Just go back and lecture him there. He wouldn’t be so furious!”

Lu Jinnan walked out of the police station, frowning as he lit up a cigarette.

Cai Jingyao pulled Lu Jinbei’s wrist and followed behind Lu Jinnan. Outside, she stood at the door and watched Lu Jinnan’s tall and steady back view, standing side by side with Lu Jinbei, not moving forward.

It had been a while since Lu Jinnan smoked. He had stopped ever since Bai Xiaonian got pregnant.

But Lu Jinbei’s matter had vexed him a great deal. He wouldn’t have cared, if he weren’t his younger brother, but this scoundrel was his only brother!

Ever since Lu Jindong passed away, Lu Jinnan regarded this younger brother as the most important in his eyes. Although it was said that the human heart was limited, and he had given his heart to Bai Xiaonian all these years, it wasn’t like the younger brother that he’d cared so much had suddenly disappeared.

Lu Jinnan took a deep puff of his cigarette and turned to look at Cai Jingyao.

Through the white smoke, Cai Jingyao felt a strong sense of pressure from Lu Jinnan’s gaze. She subconsciously tightened her grip on Lu Jinbei’s hand.

Lu Jinbei seemed to sense Lu Jinnan’s gaze too. He quickly hid Cai Jingyao behind him and looked straight into Lu Jinnan’s eyes.

Lu Jinnan walked up to Lu Jinbei, his large hand pressing against his face as he pushed him away in frustration…

Lu Jinbei was caught off guard and was pushed away by the hand. He stumbled several steps and nearly fell.

Without Lu Jinbei’s obstruction, Cai Jingyao looked up and met Lu Jinnan’s eyes. It was as if someone had gripped her throat, her eyes trembling slightly.

“Tell me, what do you want? Money? How much?” Lu Jinnan asked.

“What…” Cai Jingyao was stunned. She probably hadn’t expected Lu Jinnan to be so straightforward.

“Lu Jinnan!”
