Mr. Fang's Feisty Mistress

346 False knowledge

Agreeing to keep things that way, Zhang Liling nodded in compliance before bringing up another topic.

"I can't believe you asked your father to bring his girlfriend to your event. Don't you think you went a little too far?" Fang Bingwen inquired while locking gazes with her.

He was still unable to get over her big move. Wasn't she scared about incurring the wrath of her father.

"No. I was only trying to make him comfortable enough after showing my support for his actions." Zhang Liling said without a care.

A deep sigh escaped from his lips as he slowly put down his chopsticks.

"You really know how to mess things up without knowing. Sometimes, you don't have to let one know that you are aware of their secret, especially for someone like your father."

"What did I do wrong? Is it wrong to make him comfortable with me concerning his affairs?"

"How did that sound to you? Imagine having an affair, but don't try it otherwise I would break your legs and keep you at home. If you do something like your father and your child tells you to your face that she knows about it and then proceeds to laugh over it, would you be comfortable?"

Even while trying to teach her something, he was already making his stance about cheating known to her.

He didn't even wait till when he was done talking about her father's matter, and directly chipped in what he would do to her if she dared to walk on her father's footsteps in the middle of his lessons.

"No, why would I be..." Just as she was giving her response, she suddenly stopped, realizing her mistake.

If she were to be in father's shoes which she didn't have any plans to be in, she would surely be uncomfortable no matter how causally her child made the matter to look.

Now afraid that she must have ruined something with her father, the frown on her face gradually turned to fear.

"But you shouldn't worry about it. Let it be a lesson to know act so casually without thinking. Men have different thoughts and different reaction to things." Fang Bingwen advised.

Shifting the conversation from Zhang Renshu to the event taking place the next day, thru talked about the food vendor and the set up at the room for the occasion.

By the time Zhang Liling left for her place, it was already late and she was right in time for dinner.

"What took you so long?" Song Jujing asked as soon as she stepped into the house.

"After seeing father, I had a lot of things to confirm. My friends from Paris would be arriving in the morning to come support me, I also had to check in with the hotel they would stop to rest."

"That's okay. Was your hands and come over to the dining table."

Rejecting her mother's instruction, she first rushed to the dining area to glance at the few dishes laid out on it as she allowed the aroma to waft into her nose.

"Mum, what fish is this?" She asked, unable to recognize a particular food on the table.

"Wash your hands first. When you do that, I will be able to answer your questions," Song Jujing replied, much to her annoyance.

Left with no choice, Zhang Liling had to return to her bedroom.

Putting her bag down, she washed her hands and proceeded to change out of how jumpsuit before going down to the dining table to sit and eat, totally forgetting about her earlier curiosity as her mother stirred the conversation toward another topic.

Learning that her would-be son-in-law asked about her after Zhang Liling revealed to have visited him, Song Jujing was happy.

"After this event, I will prepare a lot of dishes for him and invite him home," She promised.

Half an hour into the meal, Zhang Liling remembered the event that took place at Zhang Corp and her smile was immediately replaced with a frown.

"Mum, there is someone I want to fire at Zhang Corp for disrespecting me and stopping me from seeing Dad earlier today."

Picking a glass of water to quench her temper, a wave of air escaped her lips.

"I told Dad about this, but do you know what he said?"

"What did he say?" Song Jujing inquired.

"He refused to fire her saying that if I want to do that, then I have to be a staff at Zhang Corp and then as his daughter, he would let me fire whomever I wanted."

The more Zhang Liling thought about this, the angrier she became. Her father couldn't even do what she wanted without asking for something in return.

And the stuff he wanted was too big.

Perhaps, was he expecting her to sell off the brand she just started and come work for him, or split her attention from growing her company while also working for him.

What was his intention?

"Then what are you going to do about it?" Song Jujing probed, despite guessing where she was going with the matter.

"Mum," leaning in, her voice softened. "You mentioned about giving me some of your shares in Zhang Corp when next you come. Now that you are here, you can do it so that i can have some power in my hands."

Seeing how ambitious she suddenly became just because she wanted to fire someone, a soft chuckle escaped from Song Jujing's lips.

"I like your brilliance, but you still have slot to learn." She said, giving her a meaningful gaze she failed to understand.

"Mum, I don't under what you are getting at." She stated with confusion spread across her face.

With no intentions of wasting both of their time, Song Jujing went on to break a shocking news to her which she had never considered.

"Being a shareholder of any company, does not give you the right to make decisions for the company."

"What!" Zhang Liling exclaimed, as she was shocked beyond measure.

"For you to be able to make decision in any company, you do not just have to be a shareholder, but also be part of the company's board of directors."
