"You haven't told me how your mother is? Seeing how the smile managed to reach your eyes, I can tell that everything is fine now." Ms. Chu said happily.

She could read Zhang Liling's facial expression to determine the state of things.

The smile on Zhang Liling's face reduced as she replied, "It's a long story, but my mother is fine now."

Hearing that, a sigh of relief escaped the housekeeper's lips, knowing that everything was fine now.

"That's a relief," She stated.

"Ms. Chu, we have to leave the young lady now before her breakfast turns cold." Butler Gu announced politely.

The housekeeper's gaze shot past Zhang Liling's shoulder to see the food arranged on the dining table.

Smiling, she hurriedly said with her gaze directed at Zhang Liling, "Miss Zhang, have your food first, there is plenty of time to chat."

"Sure. And I got presents too…" Zhang Liling said suggestively as she sent a wink their way.

"Thank you," Butler Gu and Ms. Chu said gratefully.

"Now, I have to run along to make supervise your things being moved to your new bedroom," The housekeeper said before turning to leave.

"Miss Zhang, enjoy your meal." Butler Gu said before turning to leave.

Filling fulfilled with her life at the moment, the corners of Zhang Liling's lips curled as she walked back to take her seat.

Taking away the lids of her bowls, she revealed the sumptuous dishes that were served to her.

Obviously, it was completely different from the kind of food Mr. Fang had before leaving for work.

The Chef was almost done preparing another round of dishes for lunch when Zhang Liling arrived.

Also, this was what she deserved to eat after a long flight, but from Zhang Liling's end, she was more than happy because had missed the traditional food.

Coming back and being served what just her body wanted, made her feel a wave of satisfaction wash over her.

"Okay, let's eat," She said rubbing her palms together as her eyes glistened.

Twenty minutes later, Zhang Liling was done eating.

She had cleared her plates, making sure that it would never be possible to scrape anything from them.

This just showed how much she was satisfied with the food.

Wiping her lips with the table napkin, she glanced at her phone from the corner of her eyes to see the number flashing on the screen.

Picking up the phone with her right hand as she was putting down the table napkin, she stood to her feet with her eyes on the phone.

Seeing the caller ID which happened to belong to her mother, she sighed and slipped the phone inside the side pocket of her dress before proceeding to pick up the plates.

After that, she carried them toward the kitchen, where she met the Chef munching something.

"Hello, Mr. Chef!" Her excited voice rang out while flashing him a smile.

Immediately the Chef heard her familiar voice, he raised his head as his eyes shone brightly.

"Miss Zhang, it's really you. It's good to see you again." He said wide-eyed.

He heard from the Butler about her return, but because his work in the kitchen was not yet over, he couldn't go out to see her halfway.

That wouldn't be professional from his side, hence he thought to see her immediately after he was done with the current work he had at hand.

Zhang Liling took quick steps to the sink to put down the plates in her hand before turning to walk toward him.

"It's good to see you two," she said with a beautiful smile spreading across her face.

Zhang Liling had smiled so much in less than 2 hours that she could feel her cheekbones burning because of the pressure.

But because this was not forced happiness, she decided to bear the pain.

Rubbing her cheeks slightly with her fingers, she asked curiously as she went over to his work desk.

"What are you making?"

Smiling proudly, the chef revealed while gesturing to the aluminum squared-shaped tray in front of him.

"I tried a new pastry."

Now coming to stand beside him, Zhang Liling was able to see the half-circle-shaped pastry with streaks at its end, laying on the tray.

There were about five of them in the tray.

"What are they called?" She asked with interest.

Zhang Liling felt her mouth water as the aroma of the pastries assaulted her nose.

The Chef stared thoughtfully at the pastries before saying, "I used shredded beef and mashed potato for the filling. I also added some carrots and a little vegetable."

"Maybe I should name it 'Meat Stuffing' Instead."

Immediately, Zhang Liling engaged in a series of laughter with her hand over her mouth. She was laughing so hard that the Chef began to wonder what was so funny in what he said.

At last, Zhang Liling replied to his worries, "You are so bad at naming. I don't have the energy to continue laughing."

"You asked for a name, so I made one on the spot," The Chef said defensively.

He was just exploring the ideas in his head as naming had not been important to him.

Putting her hands up in surrender, she said still with a smile tugging at the corner of her lips, "All right. Can you give me one to try?"

That was Zhang Liling's interest as she no longer cared if he was bad at naming his craft.

The aroma of the pastries was dealing with her here. She needed to have a bit to satisfy her tastebuds

"Sure," The Chef said immediately before lifting one of the pastries and handing it over to her.

He was more than happy for her to give his work a try.

"Thank you," Zhang Liling said as she took it from him.

Feeling the slight hotness, and the aroma closer to her nose, she closed her eyes as the corners of her lips stretched.

"I can feel it's fresh from the oven," she stated before slowly opening her eyes.

"You are right, but it's been over a few minutes. Miss Zhang, hurry up and give the pastry a try." The Chef urged while gazing at her with an expectant smile.
