A few Hours Before- Pyramid

"My Lord, it is finally time for you to join the land of the living," I said to the old man sitting in the corner without taking my eyes off the screens in front of me.

All our Grand Lords were fighting, including the Supreme Commander; she and Lady Angela had been fighting against four Grimms, but now a fifth had appeared, and it was from the thing; the moment it appeared, it immediately joined the battle.

"Finally, this old man was getting quite bored while sitting around since the war had begun," he said as he got up, with a strange aura coming out of his body, which he immediately controlled and brought the normal aura that everybody is familiar with.

The first aura couldn't help but make him shudder; he is feeling fear, not because of the aura of Grand Lord, but the strangeness contained in it.

Old man and he shares the same inheritance, and this is not the aura of their inheritance; it is an aura of the method that the Grand Lord practiced; even the supreme commander had shuddered when she had talked about this method.

He controlled his emotion and opened a teleportation formation, and a moment later, Grand Lord Gatlin disappeared and appeared on the battlefield.

He stopped the battle with his appearance, but only for a moment before the battle began even more intensely.

He watched all the battles with bated breath; there was not a single Grand Lord out there that is free; from matron Mavis to Lord Gatlin, everyone is fighting. It is already a miracle that no Grand Lord has died yet, as there is always rescue when one is in danger, but that is changing.

The number of Grimm Grand Lords is increasing very fast; till now, two new Grand Lords have appeared out of the thing; they are Grimms, while not a single Grand Lords have appeared from the humans, even after three months.

It feels frustrating, and he desperately wishes he could do something about it, but he cannot. He is powerless.

A few minutes passed, and he was the battles were at a standstill; the battle against the five Grimm Grand Lords that Lord Gatlin had joined also did not show any obvious change.

Lord Gatlin is fighting defensively, protecting Supreme Commander and Lady Angela from powerful offensive attacks while they launch their own attacks.

He does not seem to be using his new method. This is not surprising from what he knows about; it is best used when fighting against the enemy one-on-one. The method is a great addition for Lord Gatlin, who fights defensively.

A few more minutes passed, and when a thing lit up, a couple of Grimms and humans appeared, and a second later, the expressions on the face of Grimms and humans' Grand Lords have changed.

He was just thinking about what had happened when suddenly a projection of Lady Angela had appeared.

"My La"

Both he and Lord Hern got up to greet when she stopped them, "Silas Bishop had started the breakthrough," she said and disappeared; she could not afford to distract herself for long in such a dangerous battle.

So, he focused on the humans who had just appeared and now trying their hardest to get out of the range of the battle as soon as possible.

He could not deploy the teleportation on them as long as they were a range of battle; the space was not stable there; he tried, but he might end up killing them.

More than ten minutes passed when finally, three humans got out of the range of the battlefield, and he summoned them directly into the central command.

"You have said Lord Bishop is breaking through?" he asked the leading High Grandmaster; "Yes, my lord," the High-Grandmaster replied.

Hearing the confirmation, a beaming smile helps but appears on his face. They needed the Grand Lords, and the bishop would be extremely useful with his battle experience and close combat offensive abilities, which very few Grand Lords have.

"What are his chances? Did he tell you about it?" he asked and immediately realized how futile the question was. He might have gotten something if it had been any other of a colleague, but given a Lord Bishops nature, he is not the one to reveal such things in the open.

"Does he have anyone to protect him from the disturbance of Grimms?" he asked; while he knew in safe zones, one couldn't be attacked. Still, there are plenty of ways to disturb one during the breakthrough, even if one is protected under the formation.

So, it is necessary to have people around to protect from the disturbance the enemies would cause.

"There are many, My Lord. There are many powerful people protecting councilmember Bishop, Lord Norman, Lady Angela, and even Grandmaster Zaar is there; with him being there, no Grimm would dare to cause any disturbance," he replied with quite an enthusiasm but did not get the reaction he was hoping for.

Hearing the last name, the expression on his face became somber, and the same with Lord Herb.

Most people are not aware, but there is great animosity between Lord Bishop and Grandmaster Zaar.

The people of the sky saber tried to kill Grandmaster Zaar and nearly succeeded, and that created bad blood. It was fine when Grandmaster Zaar was nobody, but he was not anybody anymore; now, even Grand Lords are respectful to him.

He hates Lord Bishop to the bone.

Many colleagues of the council had asked him to punish those responsible for the deed and apologize. Not only did he not apologize, but he constantly protected the people responsible.

That had intensified the bad blood so much that a few months ago, Grandmaster directly told him that when he was powerful enough, he would personally come to the sky saber and bring the punishment on those who were responsible.

Now, he fears that Grandmaster Zaar might do something in his hate; he could, and nobody will be able to stop him, given his abilities.

Though, he hopes he will keep a calm mind as he did when he was running the project, not discriminating against the people of any organization, despite him having the power to.

The battle is now raging, and the appearance of every single Grand Lord changes things. While there is a huge chance that Lord Bishop might not succeed, the Grimms do not want to take any chances.

They continued fighting for nearly an hour before suddenly, both of the groups separated on either side of things.

Now they are looking at the thing; while it took at least five hours for a breakthrough of the Grand Lord, it is not set in stone that he will succeed; if a failure occurred, the news would come, as will news of success, if he succeeded.

Time passed, and people kept watch on the thing; around half an hour later, a group of Grimms and humans appeared, but to the disappointment of both races, the group was not from the same place.

They came from different places and had no idea about the breakthrough of the Lord Bishop, so they waited for the next group.
