2417 Harken Ruin

One and a half months passed since the project began and three weeks since the breakthrough of the seventeen Masters into the Grandmasters class.

Since then, no other Grandmaster breakthrough has happened, and nor have we tried; we are still preparing, making double the efforts in everything, and the result is said to be good. There are some candidates who are ready to make a breakthrough into Grandmaster.

Still, I decided to wait some more time to make even greater preparations. Failure is not allowed; once the Master fails in breakthrough, it will be extremly hard for them to make the breakthrough again, not to mention the loss of humongous resources we have spent on the person.

I have been extremly busy in the past one and half months and stressful; if not for Marina, I don't know how I would have managed such stress.

Usually, when I feel stressed, I go to the battlefield; it does wonder to relieve all the stress and could be said to be the second-best method to relieve the stress after the sex.

I am feeling very happy today, and Marina is not the only reason for that; Lord Whitmore has called to me in his face, and that could only mean one thing.

Knock Knock!

I appeared beside the Lord Whitmores office and knocked on it.

Click!

The door opened, and I walked inside; behind the table was Lord Whitmore, and he looked quite stressed, more stressed than usual.

"Lord Whitmore," I said as I appeared in front of him. "Grandmaster Zaar, please take the seat," He offered. I nodded and took the seat in front of him.

"You know what I have called you?" He asked, "You have a mission for me," I said matter of factly. If it had been not the case, then I would have been called to the central command instead of his tower.

"Yes, and this mission is a little complicated," He said and tapped on his desk, and soon two visually appeared in front of me.

See!

I sucked a sharp breath seeing the two visuals; there is a projection of two people in a very horrid state. One has the spores all our their bodies; these spores seemed to be releasing the gaseous.

The person has thin blade marks on her body; there are thousands of these blade marks on her body which is bleeding a violet puss.

"Grandmaster Manny, Grandmaster Gurmukh. Who did this to them?" I asked; I do not think it is a work of Grimms; their torture marks bear a different kind of signature, and these are not from them.

I could be wrong, as freaks even among them who do the things differently, but I very much doubt that.

"I don't know; when they returned, they were not in the state of speaking," He replied.

"Where did it happen?" I asked.

"Harkens Ruin," He replied,

"Hun!" A surprised sound couldn't help but come out of me unconsciously. Harkens a Ruin is a very old Grandmaster Class ruin. It was a little weird ruin but was filled with treasures when it appeared four thousand years, but over the years, Grimms and we looted it dry that nobody goes there anymore.

"Two days, our sensors sensed something strange from us ruin that forced us to send the two Grandmasters. They returned two days later in a state where they could not even speak a word." He replied.

"What did you be able to find out anything from the wounds?" I asked, "Very little," he replied with a sigh.

"They are using very powerful toxin energy we have not come across before. I have checked the ruins' record in the archive but did not find anything about these toxins, which is not strange considering what type of ruin it was," Said Lord Whitmore with a frown.

I know very little about the Harkens Ruin; from what we were able to find, it was a place for torture; they also did the experiments on humans before attracting the retribution; those who attacked that place were pretty angry that they had destroyed nearly everything in the ruin.

It ended up benefiting us, as most of the buildings were destroyed, including the security apparatus, which let us loot the things inside those destroyed buildings.

"Any reaction from the Grimm?" I asked. "There is a pretty intense reaction from then; they had sent the team as at the same time as us; I don't whether it is to take revenge or their preliminary team found something, they have sent a pretty big group, and they did not even hit from our senses," replied Lord Whitmore.

"We have to consider both, including the third option being this Grimm's plan from the beginning to trap and kill our important powerhouses," I replied, to which he nodded.

The Grimms have done such a thing so many times that we would be an idiot to not consider this option. A single peak Grandmaster is comparable to twenty Initial Grandmasters; to trap such a powerhouse, they would not think twice about releasing two Initial Grandmasters.

"This is not a mandatory mission for you. If you are busy with a project, you could decline it," He said to which I shook my head.

He wanted me to decline, so I would be safe here in the Pyramid, working on the project which would stop if something had happened to me, but how could I decline this wonderful opportunity to leave and have some action.

I have been cooped in Pyramid for nearly three months, and now, I just want to go out, fight some strong Grimm Monsters, and if its real and not part of Grimm's plan, then deal with the things that injured Grandmaster Manny and Gurmukh like this.

"I will take this mission," I replied after waiting for a few seconds. A disappointment flashed in the eyes of Lord Whitmore, but he controlled his emotions quickly.

"Your mission is to investigate, and if it is in your power, then deal with it," said Lord Whitmore before he transferred important data related to the ruin to me.
