MMORPG: Rebirth as an Alchemist

209 [BONUS] Guild Wars: Fight for Victory! 7

With little HP and MP left while Roaring Tigers and Fighting Lamb were still in full health and had the number advantage, Ravaging Bull could do nothing but die without even taking a single one of their enemies. Even their Thief was slippery and annoying as hell.

The hundred guilds were quickly reduced to fifty, and there was no rest for the wicked as they were quickly matched to their next contender. The stage formed, piecing itself to the next while the players thinned in numbers until it had only fifty podiums.

The war raged on and crowds never stop shouting and cheering like there was no tomorrow.

On the other hand, Ren focused on the widescreen over the horizon showing the brackets of guilds. Black Lion, White Unicorn, and Ferocious Ravens were still on the board, as well as Golden Phoenix and Iron Roses. Too bad that Sleeping Dragon was already eliminated. Ren was hoping to kill them himself.

He then scanned the area and immediately found Evie battling Ferocious Ravens. She was at a disadvantage since it was a battle between one against two. She was the only one left in the arena, and without someone taking the front for her, she couldn't possibly cast her ace that had a long casting time.

Beatrix was a Dark Mage, but the only difference was she had a tank with her, defending and taking the damage for her while she cast her spell at a safe distance.

Evie was left with no choice but to use simple spells like [Fire] while avoiding all the incoming attacks her way. But it was only a matter of time before her HP was reduced to zero.

"Hey, where are you going?" Sumeri asked and put her hand on Ren's shoulder. "Our fight is not finished.

Ren didn't seem to hear anything, and Sumeri took a quick look at where he was staring but couldn't find what he was looking for amidst the fray.

"Hey, are you alright?" Sumeri asked because, amidst Ren's calm exterior, there was a brewing storm in his eyes, and a suffocating intent to kill emerged from his body.

Sumeri retrieved her hand and took a step back. She didn't understand what was going on and why Ren seemed like he would murder someone. But there was a creeping fear that traveled in every nerve in her body at the sight of his murderous state.

Ren didn't hear nor see anything except Evie's fight against Ferocious Ravens, and until her last breath, she resisted and fought. No matter how special her skill was, if there was no one to tank for her, she was vulnerable. Such was the life of a supporting class.

But nevertheless, Iron Rosses, a nameless guild reaching top fifty because of her wasn't bad already.

Ren's eyes pierced Beatrix and the Dwarf Defender named Jorge. If it wasn't for the barrier preventing him from leaving his arena, he didn't know what kind of embarrassment he would do. He pride himself for being calm and he thought that nothing could rattle him . . . but this day proved him wrong.

He didn't know which was worse . . . seeing Evie die in the hands of another, or die in his hands. Either way, both options made him want to tear his nerves.

Ren blinked when Evie disappeared into nothingness. He took a large breath and calmed himself before he faced Sumeri.

"Our next opponent is Black Lion. Are you ready?" Ren asked, containing the anger in his voice. He desperately tried to refocus his attention on their battle ahead. A good thing that his brain didn't care about the maters of his heart . . . for now, that is.

Sumeri was taken aback, and a shadow of doubt and fear overtook her worry for Ren.

She even forgot their current fight, and her eyes searched for Black Lion. It wasn't hard to find him. It was like her eyes knew where Scar was. It was automatic and she hated herself for that.

Currently, Black Lion was massacring another well-known guild for dominance over the title to top twenty and their four numbers wasn't decreasing the slightest neither was their health. And among his team was Amarika the Thief.

"It looks like Scar used our strategy as well," muttered Sumeri in a daze. All three were core members and she knew that Amarika would be bad news.

"It's not just our strategy. I'm sure the others thought of it as well. That's why they made it this far," said Ren.

"Hey, Sumeri. Where are the fireballs?" Roxy complained, and it was only when Sumeri was back to herself and immediately aided the team.

Meanwhile, Ren's plans took a curve. It wasn't major. Just some minor adjustment. Nothing that required him to break his head into strategizing again based on the brackets displayed on the screen.

The fight for the Top twenty spot was next, and too bad for Black Lion . . . they were going to take the top ten spot. The good thing about the game was there was no fights for a specific number. If you lose then you'll automatically belong to the top hundred, fifty, twenty, ten, and five. The system also made things simpler and quick that way.

Belonging to the top fifty amongst thousands who entered was already considered an achievement. And Ren wasn't asking much. Just the Grand Prize.

Another round of ringing and cheering noises quaked the area before the arena piece itself to its surroundings until it was twenty-five podiums out from the fifty.

The crowds were ecstatic and shock to see that amongst everyone's bet of making it to top twenty, Roaring Tiger and Fighting Lambs, held out with full health and six members. Some raised their brow while others seriously considered that they might even win the championship. A nameless group among the crowd's top guild definitely warrants attention. Especially that they would face off against one of the highly bet guilds to win the championship, Black Lion.

Now, the table had turned. The once neglected guild was now the whole focus of the entire world.

"There's your advertisement," Ren said to Roxy, but the latter almost fainted and fell to the floor if not for their Thief's timely saved of her.

"I don't know if I should be happy that we got all this attention or not. Now my limbs are all numb, my nerves are in chaos, and my mind is all blank."

SllaAaApP!

"Ouch!" Roxy felt a shot of electricity crawling from the base of her foot and travelling to the end of her hair. She looked at the finger marking on her leg while Leonel grinned at her.

"Feeling better?"

Instead of answering, Roxy kicked Leonel on the side. "That hurts, you idiot!" but Roxy got to admit that her nervousness died down, and she felt a little better.

Leonel was sent flying from the kick, and he hugged the floor with his face. He then pushed a thumbs up from where he lay. "I-I think you're good."

The others laughed a bit, and the shenanigans helped calm their nerves.

Faced with their next opponent, Roaring Tigers and Fighting Lambs knew that their next battle would probably be the hardest they would face yet.
