Both Roxy and Tor released a sigh of relief at the ten members only per guild. "At least they're fair for once."
"It's the first ever Guild Wars, and the developers know that a lot of guilds are struggling to get even ten members since the powerful guilds hugged all the players."
"Never mind that, but 10 000 000 million gil!" Leonel suddenly found himself out of breath. His desire to win blazed even more.
"It's the first ever Guild War. So, of course, the outrageous prizes." Though Ren said that, he too couldn't help but be shocked at the Grand Prize. A Rare Class Ticket that could grant a classless player the Rare Class Options. What could be more enticing than that?
But Ren set his eyes on the Class Advancing Book. He could save it later to advance his class into an Alchemist. A one-time reward meant that it would no longer be available in future prizes. At least, that was how he understood it.
While everyone was hyped and discussing the rewards, Tor had other concerns.
"What's up with these games? Do we have to complete three games and win them all?"
"Maybe," Roxy took another go with the Guild War announcement. "And this no revive concerns me."
Rox sighed. "Can they be more specific? Does it hurt them to explain further and type more words?"
Ren didn't comment. It wasn't specific because there were loopholes intended to be exploited. Even he didn't know what to expect about the Guild Wars, and the extra Item besides the potions may just be the deciding factor for their victory.
"I think the first two games are an elimination game," said Sumeri.
Leonel jumped to his feet. "Whoa! When did you get here?"
Sumeri ignored him and explained further, "Since there are thousands of guilds entering, they're going to use those first two games to eliminate the weaker guilds while the last one is a battle between guilds to claim the victory title."
"Where did you get that information?" Leonel asked.
Sumeri shrugged. "It's pretty obvious. Among the games, only number three is battle oriented, which only means that it is a guild versus guild in the end."
"Speaking from experience?" Ren grinned at her.
Sumeri replied with a grin of her own. "Pretty much."
"We should also be careful of our death," added Ren. "The NO REVIVE might mean exactly that throughout the war. And if the last game is a guild versus guild kinda battle, the one with the most members at the end had the most chance of winning."
The others nodded and agreed.
Now it was the time to talk about the primary concern in their cooperation –– the distribution of loots.
"You two talk it out. We're merely mercenaries in the group, and we accepted this mission for free so the loots is none of our concern," said Ren. After all, he did say that he would work for free. Call him whatever names, but he was a man of his words.
Leonel strained his neck at Ren's way while groaning like a little lost kitten. He shut his mouth though and didn't comment while his heart bleed at the rewards that would never come across his hands.
While Sumeri clicked her tongue at the side. So annoying to be working without anything in return. It was okay when she was still rich but she was poor now and she needed that millions. She was even thinking of joining the guild to have a cut of the money and then bailed out later on. But her pride wouldn't let her.
Ren gave the two a quick stare before he stepped out and let Roxy and Tor talk it out.
Tor scratched his head and said, "You first, Lady Roxy," he said, voice polite, that didn't go well with his intimidating physique.
"Ah . . . Well . . . I don't really know what to expect. I think we should just split everything evenly?"
"Sounds good," Tor agreed.
Rox elbowed his sister while Bucky slapped Tor's hand.
"What do you mean evenly? Rox complained. "What about the gil? You can't give gils. And that grand prize is only once each. Which should we take from it?"
Rox was of course, eyeing the number one spot like everyone else.
"The Kids right," Bucky answered with a serious face and voice before his shoulder slumped and yawned. "You have to be specific about these things, Boss."
Both Roxy and Tor were at a loss. They were secretly eyeing each other on who would speak first.
"How about you convert the gil into real money and split it amongst you?" Sumeri suggested.
The two guild leader's faces brightened, smacking their hands against their palms. "That could work."
Everyone then agreed that the Rare Class Ticket belonged to Roxy while the Class Advancement Scroll belonged to Roaring Tigers.
Leonel took a deep breath. "I can't believe that we're really doing this for free."
"Yeah . . ." Sumeri agreed, "The more I think about those rewards, the more I wanted to pull my hairs from frustration." This was what she got for coming into the game late. If she knew that she would still end up in COVENANT, she should have entered at the same time as Nikolai.
There was also the option of joining Silvia's guild, but Sumeri didn't want to join any guild anymore. She was traumatized by his past that she wanted to avoid joining one. And Silvia might not even bring her to the war because of her low ATP. Every guild would surely bring only their core members.
So the last option for her was to become a mercenary, as Ren suggested.
But this freelance work in the hopes of gaining recognition was harder than she thought.
While everyone was busy with their own thoughts, Ren was silent on the side. There was a concerning grin playing on his lips. One that was hatching a sinister plan.
